  1. I Agree... I was Havin´ same Problems on my EA82 White Wagon... I Changed the Relays and their Plugs, for Standard Bosch Relays! it Did Fix it up! Good Luck!
  2. I Suggest that if you Can, Repair the Justy. but Also You can Consider the Option of Purchase another Subie, like a Loyale. I Read in the Forums that a Good Condition Loyale isn´t Expensive there. Good Luck!
  3. Yes, But I Remembered Last Night, Somethin´ that can Help You; I Tried to Access this Site from my Cell Phone´s Internet service, but I Can´t Login... The Thing I Remembered, is that on Most EA82´s the Weber Carb did Hit the Power Steerin´ Pump... Let me Explain: The Kit K-731 from Redline / Weber, to install the Weber 32/36 which includes the Two Plates´ Adaptor, is Designed to Mount on a "DL" Version of the EA82. The One that Came Without Power Steerin´ / Air Conditioned. So, When you Try to Install it on a "GL" with Power Steerin´ Unit, Not Only the Choke Hits the Rear Part of the Power Steerin´ Pump, if you Remove the Choke, the Problem is Still not Solved. I Had that Problem on my EA82. So, One Bolt of the Carburetor, Hits one of the Four Bolts at the Rear Part of the Power Steerin´ Pump. So, I "Cutted" the Half of the Head of the Power Steerin´ Bolt. See: Also: Remember that the EA82 Subie did Came with Different Configurations on the Engine´s Accesories, I Saw Mostly the ones that came with Power Steerin´ Pump, then aside the Hitachi Air Conditioneer Compressor, then (Near the Battery) the Alternator; but some EA82´s Came with Panasonic Air Conditioneer Compresor, in that case, First is the Power Steerin´ Pump, then the Alternator, and finally (Near the Battery) is Placed the Air Conditioneer Compressor, Panasonic. So, if Your´s is GL, with Power Steerin´ Pump, Be Carefull with Those Bolts... the carbs Seems to be in Place, but with those Bolts Hittin´ it left 2 Milimeters up the Adaptor Plate. Other Solution is to Mount the Weber Carbs, Backwards... I saw long time Ago, other Member´s Photos with that Configuration on the Engine... Anyway, Good Luck!
  4. Yes, it´s True! ... I Asked a Friend who had Problems with his Accel Coil, he said the one he Purchased, said "Made in Mexico" ... Not like Mine... and it Exploded in the Firts Week... Damagin´ pait and hoses on the Engine´s Bay of his Nissan Almera...
  5. Maybe they "Detailed" the Engine too? ... For that Price, I think that they Should Changed at Least the Piston Rings and the Head Gaskets... But if you Like it, Go for it! Good Luck!
  6. YES! Absolutely! My White Wagon, EA82 did Gain Much Power / Torque Without those Smog Stuff... I Removed both Exhaust Filters (Cathalitics) too, Even the EGR, etc... But be Carefull with the Laws in your State...
  7. Short Time Ago, I Read in Other Thread, that Those Kind of "Upgrades" are from "Ricers" ...
  8. 2WD EA82 got a Better / Wider Distribuitor Advance Curve than 4WD ones, and without all the Smog Stuff, and the Weber, my EA82 does around 115 but it´s Extremly Scary! ... so I Just Tried its Maximum Speed Once...
  9. Me Too! ... I Has the 8140 High Vibrations Coil' date=' the one that hasn´t Oil, just Epoxi inside... I has it installed in my EA82 since the 90´s, and it Works Very Fine! Just Plug & Play![/color'] See: http://go.mrgasket.com/ProductDetails.aspx?brandId=3&productID=8053968&majID=545&minID=5456&selection=&minselection=4
  10. Let me Ask you This: Are you Absolutely SURE that the Coolat are Comin´ from that Hole in the Intake? I Didn´t Closed the Hole, even I Didn´t Remove the Tiny Hose... And My EA82 Doen´t have any Coolant Leak, and the install has more than a year... So, I Suggest to Check Carefully... Maybe coolant is Comin´ from elsewhere... Good Luck!
  11. I Think that You´re Right! ... Maybe A Li´l Amount of Water / Condensation inside the Engine, did Rusted that Bearin´ ... I remembered that when I was a Li´l Child, I heard ´bout Somethin´ Like That, happened to a Dad´s Friend, who Left the Country to Work Far Away, and his car was totally Abandoned... When he came Back and did Repair it, Engine was Runnin´ with Noises... and then Happened the Same... A Rusted Bearin´ ... I Hope that Rxroo87 Can Fix it Easily... Good Luck!
  12. Nice Idea! ... Do you Know How Much time those Scotch Brites will Last on that Condition? ... They Cannot Go Sucked inside the Engine in Anyway? I Fix my Subies Just Changin´ the Valves´ Seals in the Heads... inmediately the Smoke and Oil Problem gone away! ... but it Means to Change the Head Gaskets too...
  13. Oh my Waffles!!! :-\ ... Such a Bad Thing... Could it be Easy to Fix? Did it Ran with the Same Oil that was Sat for 2 Years?
  14. Well... Me Too... My Wife Thinks that I´m in Love with my Subies, and did Bother me About it, Playin´ Jokes About, always... but Now, She wants a New Subie for her! Well... Me Too... Well... I Suggest you a Wagon! ... I Have Two!
  15. Don´t Forget to use Shellac on those Gaskets! http://automotive.hardwarestore.com/11-21-gasket-sealants/indian-head-shellac-gasket-compound-613357.aspx Good Luck!
  16. Could you explain more... I´m not Sure about which Gasket are you Askin´
  17. Please, Don´t Forget the Stock "Rally" Version of the EA82T, that Delivered 190 Hp. For More info, read: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=68709 Well... isn´t Bad Idea, if you can find Easy a Cheap EJ Engine...
  18. True! ... Absolutely. But Also I Think it may be due to Clogged / Dirty injectors too ... so I Suggest to Check how much Size Difference is Between the 13" and the 14" Rims, along with their Tyres... to Figure a Better idea of What´s Happenin´ ... And to Clean the Fuel System can Help too. Good Luck!
  19. First: Welcome! Yes, They´re Repairable... But I didn´t Repair anyone yet. As Far As I Know, you can find the New Replacement kit at the Dealer, which is a Piston with the O-Rings... or Maybe you can find Just the O-Rings, I´m not Sure about... is Hard To Tell how Difficult is to fix it ... I Suggest to Take it off, and Check... Maybe isn´t too hard, I think. Good Luck!
  20. This: http://www.valvoline.com/pages/products/product_detail.asp?product=34 Could be a Good Option...
  21. I think that´s the Right Answer... Also, I suggest to Pour a Bottle of Power Steerin´ Conditioner & Sealant; Both things will Elliminate that problem´, since some of the Belt Slippin´ is Due by a "Hard" Power Steerin´ Pump. Good Luck!
