  1. Yes, You´re Right! I was thinkin´ too in the Tyre Wear done by No Differential Action... and Another things like the Control to make Both Motors to Spin in the Same Rpm´s at the Same Time, etc. But I didn´t wanted to Write a "Never Endin´ Post" Everythin´ can be Solved, I think...
  2. No Man, I don´t Think so... Electric Motor Bolted Right to the Transfer Case? I´m a Little Lost on Translation with this, so Let me Ask: You mean to Bolt it to the Gearbox? Well... I have consider that Idea since I was in High School (here Called the "Bachilleráto") Doin´ a Science Fair Project, that was a Mini Wooden Pick´up with electric motor, than can carry 100 Lbs (42.3 or so Kgs) of Weight... I noticed two things: How much weight directly wear the Batteries with the Effort, and how much Rpm´s can do an Electric Motor. Then I consider to do a "Real Car" Conversion to Electric... So, I was Thinkin´ About to put Two AC Motors of 42 Hp Each, and Each one connected Directly to their Side´s Wheel. So, the car will be Fwd, and no Gearbox is Needed, ´cos a AC 42 Hp Electric Motor do Around 18,000 RPM´s... Also to go Reverse, with some sort of Switch, you just "Reverse the way AC Flows" and the car go Reverse, with some sort of Limitator to the Rpm´s in Reverse way. Also, I think that Both 42 AC motors, can go Side by Side in the Engine Bay of a Loyale, but the Axles Shall be changed for compatibility, to anothers that brings Enough distance (Shorter) an there Starts the Question of the Part that Holds the Axle & the Motor... It needs some Invention / Adaptation there... Why Bolt Directly the AC Motor to the Wheels? Well... 18,000 Rpm´s means A Lot of Speed, I´m not Sure, but consider Two Things: Gasoline Engines can do an Average Around 6,000 Rpm´s Safely, and got their peak Torque at an Average of Around 3,000 Rpm´s; and Electric Motors can do Around 18,000 Without the loose of Any Torque, so you can go Faster without gearbox. Maybe you can Reach above of 75 Mph. Another Question to Consider is that AC Motors are Industrial motors, more Easy to Obtain, so Parts for ´em, So I think that Project can be Done, with Lots of Inventive, Time, Efforts, and Money. Good Luck!
  3. This: is a Really Supercharged EA81... Think about: No Timin´ Belts, and 200+ Hp... Well... I Also love the Subaru Flat 12... The 1400 was sold thru e-bay, as Far as I Know... For More about Subaru non Common Stuff, see: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=53434
  4. Well... For Off-Road use I think ... I Like those Brats! But a 10 Seconds Brat with Stock EA81? ... Maybe usin´ a "Ram Engines" Modified EA81... Like This: Also, EA82´s can do 190+ Hp Stock! ... See: http://www.rallye-info.com/carspecs.asp?car=150 For Mo´ Info!
  5. I´ll ike to see Pics of That! ... Could you Post ´em?
  6. Well... I was ´bout to Ask that, but then I saw: Marko: I think that you don´t need to invite Beer, Just A Li´l Patience... People here are Soo kind, and there are Always one of us to Bring Help Also, I think I have The Solution -I Believe- to your Subie´s Problem: Check EXTERNALLY the Core, I mean I´m Almost Sure that Between the Fan that Blows and the core, with time, dust and Road dirts got there and Clogged in some way the Flow... So I suggest to check that... That was the problem in one Subie EA82 I´ve Repaired... Good Luck! - JesZeK
  7. I use 20W-50 (Motul Brand) Minerally Based Oil in Both my Subies, and works Great! ... Maybe ´cos I live in the Tropical World... No Snow!
  8. I have a Thread ´bout to Swap a Diesel engine in a Loyale... it is a Project that might come True, see: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=64687 Also, About Diesel Boxer Engines, and Subarus that came Diesel in the Past (Other Brands, Rebagged as Subarus), see: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=582561#post582561 Any Comments are Wellcome!

  11. This is Exactly what I`ve Done, is an Easy Fix, and a Good Quality Bearin` will last longer than a Used Pulley from a Junkyard.
  12. Well... How was the Race? ... Anyone has Videos / Pics of That? I´ll Love to see it!
  13. Thank you for your Responses! Not only in U.S.A. People use Inches, feet, etc... We in Honduras use Both Measurement Systems in Some Cases... Distance is in Kilometers, Fuel in Gallons, etc... Such a Confusin´ Custom, isn´t it?
  14. Most People here in my Country do That too... I asked long time Ago ´bout, and they told me that is a custom aquired from the Truck Drivin´ Methods...
  15. I think that will look Fine Too... Could you post Pics after the Swap? Good Luck!
  16. Thank you... But my EA82 Start to make the "Tick of Death" Lifters Noise if I let Idle much time (Above 7 Minutes) And it Goes when it Revvs up to 3K... So I think that Maybe it Needs a New Oil Pump... I Want one since Long time ago , but for now I don`t have Enough Money...
  17. Absolutely True, I Agree. Well... I use Shell 80W-140 ... What do you Think ´bout?
  18. Well... Me Too! Also, Why Don´t you Refer to the Size as is Detailed in the Tyre? For Example, I have 205/60 R-13 on my Yellow Wagon, and 195/65 R-13 on my White Wagon. The numbers Means: (as Far as I Know) 205= the size from one Side to the Other Side, startin´ to Measure from edge to Edge (Where Tyre touches the Rim) 60= is the Amount in % taken from that Cypher (205) to make the Tyre´s Walls. In this case, is 60% of the 205. R= Rim (Some Brands Add: "S" or "Z" Before the R, meanin´ sometimes "S" = Sport, and "Z" = High Speed. 13= You Know... ... 13" So, the Question is: Why you say 29, 28.5, etc, instead of... 205/70 ZR-14 for Example?
  19. Yes! ... Two. I suggest to Check the Other One...
  20. Nice Thread daeron! Well... I Love our EA Engined Subies, and the EJ series Too... But `bout Simplicity, EA`s are far more Simples, and Very Good Upgradeables, but they Aren`t as Simples as we Think, for a Latin American Mechanic, who only see Regulary in-Line Cyls Engines... I Know Lot of Stories About Mechanics damagin` Subies Engines, in Things like to Adjust Valves in a Hydro Lifters EA82, Wrong Timin` Belt Settings, etc... I`ve Helped a Lot of People who Owns Subarus in those "Minorities". I love Subarus, so I thank Fuji too...
  21. That was Exactly the Same Problem I was Havin` ... And that`s Why I change the Pattern of Both my Wagons... Also, I wanna Add that long time ago, I Helped a Friend`s Friend to Tune Up -you know, change spark plugs, clean carb, check timin` etc- his EA81 (I don`t remember, but I think that said "GLF" in the Rear) and it got those same 14" Rims, so I think those maybe was an Option for some Models...
  22. Fords Do. and the Fords Rebagged as Mazdas B2300, etc. Too...
