  1. Believe it or Not, you can Clean the Carbon Deposits that make some of the Weberized EA81`s and EA82`s to Dieselin` after Shut Off, by Just lettin` get down the Carb, at Normal Operatin` engine Temps, a litter of Pure Water -the one you`ll Drink- in this Procedure: When engine is at normal Operatin` temps, remove Air Filter Box, and rev it to around 2,000 RPM`s, then drop Slowly a ounce of Water Right to the Carb, the Speed will down as the exhaust Emmissions will be Blackened... When the Engine Returns to Normal Idle, drop other two Ounces, Slowly... And wait untill Engine back to Normal Idlin` ...Then Three, And Wait... And so, Untill the Emmisions clear up, and It`s Done! I think a Litter of Water will be far Enough... it Work for Just Carbon Deposits, for Gum & Varnish, I use a "Motul Engine Clean" that mixes with Old Oil, 15 minutes before oil Change... JesZeK.
  2. I think that you Forgot to Ask About which Oil we Use... it can Change the Oil Pressure Ratings... Well... my 1985 EA82 Weberized White Wagon, Usin` Motul Minerally Oil, 20W-50, does: "Near" to 65 PSI at Runnin` Speeds ... (Around 3,000 RPM`s) and just Around 15 PSI at Idle... ... it is the Original Oil Pump, no Oil Leaks, but at over 21 Years Old, and over 240K... it needs a Replacement Oil Pump to make the Original Pressure, that I remember, it Was: 75 PSI on Higher RPM`s, and +/- 25 PSI on Idle... The Yellow Wagon... I`m not Sure, `cos it has the Oil Gauge Damaged by a Short Circuit... but I think it`s near to the White One...
  3. I like your Brat! ... Can you post More Pics as you make Progress with it? Good Luck!
  4. Absolutely True! No matter what some people can Argue about; My "Free of any Control" EA82 Weberized, (that got an Almost unrestricted -just the enough amount- 2" Exhaust, with No Obstructions on "Y" Pipe, no Cathalytic, no Muffler... Just a big Box in the Muffler`s site, with same size but Internally Open, just to Decrease Noise Level, and No Any engine`s Gas Control Things, such as EGR, etc... ) Feels Faster and Really IS Faster that other EA82`s I have repaired, of Friends, etc... Even feels more Powerfully than SPFI ones, that still got all the "Smog Control Equipment" Also, with the Weber Carb, not Only it Feels more Powerfully than Ever, Also the Engine`s Noise at Full Throtle, is Soo Delightful... Well... Sounds like a Nice Idea... But I don`t think that`s Possible, due to the U.S.A. Laws about emmissions... But Thanx! JesZeK.
  5. I think that Maybe Here: www.webercarburetors.com They got the Parts, and maybe they can Halp you... I obtained my Weber 32/36 for my EA82 wagon from That Site, they´re so Kind, so Maybe they can Help you. Good Luck!
  6. Yes, me Too... I Grew up Fixin´ my Dad´s Cars (With Him) and then Fixin´ my Subies... I know the Feelin´ and maybe that is one of the Reasons I Love Mechanic Jobs. Also I thank God for that, for Family, and for this USMB Family too... !
  7. Nautical? Nice, I Work with some Maritime affairs, and I Love Ships too... ...Or you did get a Latin American version of that Brat... :-\ ...Sadly, but due to the Lack of Better Laws About, we get our Cars in the Market, with Shorter \ Thinner / Lesser Bumpers, and no Airbags in Some Models that are Standard in U.S.A., etc... That´s Why people here go to U.S.A. to buy Cars and bring ´em Here to Sell... its a Good Bussiness... Even my EA82 came new -Almost- from California in 1985...
  8. I Agree, I have damaged both my Subie Wagons in same Situations (Not only Rocks, sometimes a Huge Hole in the Pavement can do that too) so maybe the Rod is Damaged, Also I Suggest to Check the Entire suspension, ´cos maybe other parts did Suffer from the Hit... Good Luck!
  9. Yea! ... I´ll love to See that Too... Well... I think an EJ Subaru Engine is a better Choice to Swap on a VW Beetle, but I consider that even an EA Subaru Engine is a Huge Upgrade for a Beetle. I´ll Love to see those Pics, specially to Learn ´bout the Radiator´s Solution...
  10. Be Careful!, those 9007 comparin´ to the 9004, the only change is the Position of the Filaments, so, maybe doesn´t work good to illuminate Low and High Beams on a Subie´s Headlight, ´cos instead of Goin´ up and Down, the light shall go Left and Right, and Also the Bulb´s Base hasn´t the same Lines cut in the same place. I suggest you, instead of Changin´ from 9004 to 9007, Change the 9004 to 9104 Rally Bulbs. for Mo´ info, read the Post Nº 46 of This Thread: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=68913&page=5 Good Luck!
  11. Oh!, Thanx! Me Too!, of Sure, I´ll like to watch that Race on a DVD!
  12. That is True, as Far as I knew. No "ND" Carbs. on Subies, or At Least, I didn´t see one, never.
  13. I Like the Looks / Advantage of the ones Placed in Front, I like that size, but Maybe those are little Oversized, How is to Drive that Subie with those Tyres? , Have you Tried?
  14. Oh my God! ... I like your Wagon, It´s Crazy & Beautyful! It´s a Monster Subie! Yes, but to be Perfect... Can I change the Guns with Girls? Well... I Agree! Yes, I´ll Love to Watch Videos of your Monster Subie! ... I Like it! I Agree, Absolutely! Good Luck on the Race!
  15. Oh!... ...I didn`t knew that... But EA81`s where made untill... ? I saw some Subies from the 90`s that came with the EA81, and EA71... and maybe the EA65? -I`m not Sure- I say that `cos in my country, subaru did sell the Loyale Shaped model, with just 1.3 L (economic model, just 4 gears FWD) 1.6L and 1.8L untill 1994, and also Hatchbacks and Brats did come with 1.6L and 1.8L Engines... I`m not sure, so the Question I got is: What is (or Was, I Guess) the Last Date of Manufacturing those EA Engines? (all, EA65, EA71, EA81, and EA82?) Thanx!
  16. No, I didn`t own Rims like those... The only thing I know `bout, is that those 14" where Somethin` like an Option in Europe`s XT, but I`m not Sure...
  17. I Forgot to Say that the Lada Samara and the Subaru Hatchback has almost the Same Size, but if you see carefully, the hatchback on the photo is more Squared, look the Lines on the sides...
  18. Yes... People here build those from VW beetle engines, etc... and I heard `bout some done with a EA81 subie Engine. I Like your Rockcrawler too Much!
  19. Well... I can say that for two Reasons: I know those Lada Samara Hatchback... I did repaired two of `em, one was just a Shortcircuit on the Alt`s Wires. The second was just for Change the main brake pump`s kit. The place of that Photo is Russia -I Believe- so, it must be a Lada Samara. (I know that the Volks Wagen Scirrocco and the Dacia, and other Euro Cars did have the same Shape, but in Russia, it Should be a Lada) Also the Rims... are so Common, almost just the Pattern change for Subies...
  20. Just for Info, those are the Pics of Buggys in my Country´s Streets: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a192/JesZeK/Other%20Stuff/HonduranStreetsBuggy4.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a192/JesZeK/Other%20Stuff/HonduranStreetsBuggy3.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a192/JesZeK/Other%20Stuff/HonduranStreetsBuggy2.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a192/JesZeK/Other%20Stuff/HonduranStreetsBuggy1.jpg I took those Photos while I was Drivin´ my Yellow Wagon...
