89 Carbed Justy cold start
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to chipper6's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
First: Welcome! I think it´s due by a Bad Choke, and I think that is Electric. Maybe is just Disconnected, or maybe it has Burned its Resistor. I suggest to Check it Carefully, remove the Air Filter Box, and Start the Engine, at Idle, turn Manually -if you can- the Choke Plate to almost Close, then the Idle shall go up a little. if there isn´t any movement on the Choke when you Start the car cool, that´s the Problem. Good Luck! -

It is a Steel Wire, Covered; just like the Bicicles got to its Brake Wires; and it go to the Heather´s Door. You can take it and Lube it with Anti Rust Oil, or Somethin´ like That. Good Luck! -
Lifted GL for Dayly driver
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to ivantruckman's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I just wanna Add that I have the Plan to lift one of my Wagons, and use it as my Daily Driver, but just a Mid Lift. I planned that `cos I travel too much to a High Mountains` Towns, etc, but that`s not Absolutely "Off Road" conditions, there are Roads, but unpavemented and Big Rains damage `em too much in some Stages of the Year. Also I drive too much on HighWays, to other Countries too... My plan is now Stopped, due to the Lack of Money, but still is my Plan... So I`ll continue it As Soon as Posible. so this Thread is So Helpful for me. Thanx! -
pedal vibrates during braking...
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to mrdeep2001's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Also: with Age / Use, the Rear Drums become "Oval", just a Li`l Bit, but Enough to make that Sensation durin` mid / Hard Brakin` or Soft but long brakin` too... Also, front Discs can change a Li`l bit its Perfect Disc Shape, (seein `em by their Edges - Somethin` like an Old Record -long Play- under the Sun) Specially if After a Long Brakin` the front wheels hit some Fresh Water... But those cases can be Fixed. I suggest to Check `em. Good Luck! -
But Don`t Forget to Check the Wires Carefully, maybe Power didn`t get There...
-
Change it, with a Bosch one, as I explained here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=55372. Good Luck!

Nice Lookin` Brat! I Like it! -
Maybe the Lock Wire is in bad Position... I suggest to Try first to Unlock / Lock it several Times, maybe it Frees the Mechanism. If not, try to -Carefully- Remove the internal door Handle, and Try to Remove the Door Cover. if you can, try to move the Lock steel Wire (goes Horizontally) but I think is very difficult to Take the Door`s Cover with the Door Closed... Good Luck!

Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to s'ko's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
it happens when I was Repairin´ a Friend´s Brat, long time Ago... I think that stuff was made of some sort of Asphalt Thing... we leave the car without that on the Floor... but maybe that can leave to Rust the Floor Faster... Then the Owner of that car, told me that he took it to a place when people put there somethin´ called "Toff" that is an Epoxical "Thing" to Coat surfaces... it also comes in Spray, see this Page, is Related to the Toff Stuff: http://www.truckaccessorystore.com/acc_photo2.htm (the one that Says: "Spray Liner") -
"Backyard"/substitute tool thread
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to moosens's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Well... I don`t know exactly the correct english Translation, but I use a Pair of Large "Non-Ended" Screws (we call `em here "Esparragos" -asparagus-) of 5/8" diameter and around 24" tall, with a nut in each extreme, that holds a 1" X 2" piece of Metal, angled in 90º, to compress (in a Hurry) a suspension Coil Spring. The metod is Simple: first put one of those large Screws in one Side (Left), the other on the oppossed 180º Side (Right), then start turnin` the nut down, around two turns each side at time, and securin` the spring coil with Metallic Wires & Knots... I know it is Rudimentary, and some sort of Risky; but properly Secured it Works Fine, specially in a Hurry at a Junk Yard... or at Home! -

Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Durania's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Subaru and Nissan did some Projects together, long time Ago... even the Key of a EA82 Subie is the Same of some 80`s Nissan`s. Also, subaru did sell a Nissan -diesel- as the "Subaru Leoné II" in some Markets, as Greece... Look a this Thread for mo` Info: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=53434&page=9
