Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to spokanesoob's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yes, Trully... If you Just get Bigger Injectors, and No More Air, the only thing that Will Increase, is Fuel Consuption... -
The Subaru Flat Twelve is from around 1990 (So Basically maybe it is a "Evolution" of the EA82, as is the ER27) it was for the Subaru´s Formula 1 Racin´ car... but That´s another Story. In other old Thread, I suggested to install that Flat Twelve in the Back Side of a Loyale Wagon, as Rear Engined... Crazy but can be Done... Theorically...

I just wanna say for Information, that Imprezas came here to my Country in late 1991, and Legacies came in mid 1989, as I remember... Also if you Check the Subaru History at their website, there`s a page when say that our "Loyale" shaped model, came out in 1981 as the new "Leoné" ... http://www.subaru-global.com/history.htm l

Yes! ... Search `bout. I just wanna Add that (I Think) the worst of the EA82 is the Timin` Belts. The Better is that is more easier to Upgrade. But with much effort (and Money), a huge upgrade can be done to the EA81`s, Look at this, a 200Hp EA81: So, Both are very Good Engines.

Problems with Acceleration / No Power, seems to be the Secondary Stage of the Hitachi Carb. ... Maybe the Vacuum is improperly hooked to the Wrong point... but you can test if the Cable is Wrong, by Disconnectin` it and try to "Manually" accelerate... if it Returns to normal Idle, its the Cable. But if not, is a Carb Issue, I Suggest to try with the Secondary... But Even Better Solution is to Swap a Weber instead... I done that to my White Wagon, and it Never did perform better than with the Weber, and we got it since new in 1985... Good Luck!

I`ll Add: ...Along with old Datsuns too!

I Believe you, `cos we got `em here in my Country. My Uncle did got one, and did put on it over 400,000 kilometers, untill it started to burn oil and Blew a White smoke Courtain behind it... The dealer said that those engines aren`t serviceables, so he did swap that four cyl. engine, but Just 1.6 L I remember that Pick`up as a Happy Revvin` Engined Li`l Truck... Years passed by, and my Uncle sold it... We Miss that Li`l Thing.
