Central locking door system
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to mazlik's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Adam: The first thing to Ask you, is: Which Car are You Writin´ About? Because if it is a Loyale (The EA82 Engined) it did not Have a Central Lockin´ Doors System, just some sort of "Position Sensor" on the Driver´s Door, that Locks on Unlocks the other Doors as the Driver´s is Locked or Not. Please give us more details to Help you. Good Luck! JesZeK -
I don´t understand exactly on Which fan are you Writin´ About, So, those are the two Answers: For the External A/C Fan: Older EA82´s Subies, came with a Weird Config. on the Wires (The Ones that got Two Relays in the Passenger´s Side of the Hood, just Behind the Strut´s Place, near to the Windshield.) That config lets the external electric fan on the Radiator, to Start only when the Radiator is Hot, or when A/C System has about five minutes functioning, Its related to a Pressure Switch on the A/C´s Gas Line... Then, Subaru did sell a Small Wire Set to Corect that Problem. (That fan Shall go on when you press AC botton, to gain Performance in AC Behavior / Prevent Engine Overheatin´) so that wires just Plug between the Original Relay´s Plugs and the Relays (The Wire Set is just Two Female / two Male Plugs, and a Lot of Crossed Wires Betwen) Maybe That´s Why your Fan isn´t Startin´ along with the A/C. in that Case, I Suggest to visit the Dealer for that Part. (The Wire Set) For the Internal A/C Fan: The malfunction is due to the Switch and Motor´s Resistors... I don´t know exactly how to fix it, but someone else here will help you. Good Luck!

HID lights on the GL wagon
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to suberdave's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yes! 9104 are Standard 9004 bulbs, but the Filament is placed Other Position, but Studied to Obtain a Better Pattern with the Original 9004 Headlight´s Lamps Design. -
HID lights on the GL wagon

Well, They cost here around $ 25.ºº Each One (Just for Information, it is equivalent to L. 500.ºº Lempíras, our Currecy, that is at 20 per one US$ Dollar.) but I think that is better Idea to buy ´em Directly to the Flösser Company, who makes ´em in Germany. Their Website is: http://www.flosser.com/ and it is in Four Languages. They have 9107 for Fords, I´ve Installed Two Brand New Flösser 9107 to my Uncle´s 1995 Mazda B2300 (Which is a Rebagged Ford Ranger Pick´up) and Believe me: It is a Huge Great Difference, with a Cheaper / Easier \ Simple Change of Bulbs. Also, they Won´t Damage the Stock Wires, even with its 100W Real Output in High. I Use ´em since Long Long Time Ago, more than a Decade... Yes, but not soon, ´cos my Sister Went to U.S.A. and took my Digital Camera with her... I believe that a Standard 35mm Camera will make Horrible shots by Night; I just wanna say that with 9104 Bulbs on, you can see a Diagonal line (As Volvo´s old Logo) Shadow inside the Headlight, as many H3 Lights do. (For Info: 9004 or 9104 bulbs, are Called H1 too in some Countries, like Europe) if I can do take Good Nightshots of my Subie´s Lights & Pattern, I´ll post here of Shure. Well, try at http://www.flosser.com/ ... Good Luck! -
Just for Info: My Weber 32/36 came with a Mixture Screw and the Idle Screw too... Maybe that´s because it is Brand New (It Says: Made in Spain) That leads me to think that older Webers didn´t have that mixture Screw. I obtained mine at: www.webercarburetors.com Also, I know you´re talkin´ about a EA81, but my 1985 EA82 says set the Timin´ at 8º and we discovered that our EA82 Performs Better with timin´ set at 22º (Also I Saw that Newers EA82 says to set Timin´ at 20º ) it can be readed easily in the Under the Hood Sticker. My EA82 has its Timin´ at Around 22º and 25º since 1993 up to this date without any problem, and I only "Touch" a Li´l bit the Starter with the Key, and it Comes to Live (Starts) Inmediately. Other info: the Weber´s Mixture Screw is designed to be Adjusted as the Old Ford´s carbs: When engine reach its Normal Operatin´ temps and is at Idle Speed (Usually Between 700 and 900 Rpm´s) just Screw or unscrew it slowly, when you notice a Point when the Engine´s Vibrations are almost Gone, there is the "Good" Point for your Engine. My Manual says somethin´ like That. Good Luck!

Thank you; I`ve Checked the Manual Twice... It Doesn`t says Anythin` About how to Clean the Element, it only says "...with Washable / Cleanable Element"... so I was wondering how is the Best Procedure to clean it up. Since it seems to be a some sort of Fiber (Non Metallic) between its small grille, I think that element can`t be Inmersed in Liquids... I`m not Sure.

New coil, still a weak spark on Loyale.
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Slagathor1's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I Think that your Coil is Gettin` Low Voltage, I have an Accel Superstock 8145 Coil in my Weberized EA82 white Wagon, and it Performances Great! But, What Resistor are you Writing About? ... my EA82 is a 1985 Model, so maybe that`s why mine Doesn`t have Any Resistor... Are you Shure that resistor came Stock? , Could you post here Pics of that Config? could be so Helpful. Good Luck! -
10,000 Miles! I will Vacuum the Rectangular Li`l Filter of my Weberized Subie... in the Info. Booklet says that Weber Filters` can be Washed too! ... is That True? if so: With what?, Gasoline or Just Plain Water? there doesn`t says anythin` About... Here you can see the Filter (It`s an Animated Image of my EA82 White Wagon) (Excuse me for use your Thread, Thanx ) Thanx! JesZeK.

HID lights on the GL wagon
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to suberdave's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Oh my God! ... ... 700Watts output? ... I Really will Love to see a Pic of That Setup!. Could you Put here some Pics? Well... Here in my Country, due to the Lack of Regulations, we can Obtain the 9104 Rally Bulbs, instead of the Standard 9004 ones. The main Difference `bout, is that the 9004 got Wider (Horizontally) Element, so Wider / Diffuser light is done by 9004. Instead, 9104 got Larger (Vertically) Element, so 9104 Bulbs Reach Twice the Distance with Twice Brightness, and more Clear Spot of Light. Look this Image for more Info: Those 9104 are rated 100W High / 80 Watts low (Real Output) are Flösser Brand. Just "Plug and Play" Well... I`ll like to know More `bout the HID Conversion for Subies... What is the Greatest Advantage? More Brightness? More Distance can be Reached to Illuminate? How is the Pattern? Thanx!
