  1. I Use a Metallic Fuel Filter in my Carbed (Weberized) EA82; it is Located where Stock Filter Comes: At the Fuel Tank´s Side, under the Car. The Filter is Metallic in its Exterior, but has a 5 Micron Element in its Interior; it is from Nissan, and it Fit Horizontally the Place where Stock Filter Comes. It´s Inexpensive and You can find it at Parts Stores. Look it Here: (But Here Appears Overpriced) http://oe.1motormart.com/parts/motormart/wizard.jsp?year=1997&make=NI&model=PUP-HB-003&category=E&part=Fuel%20Filter&returnurl=null&dp=false Good Luck!
  2. ( I Love Subaru Brats, I wish I could have One Some Day... ) I Like these Nice Lookin´ Brats.
  3. I absolutely Dislike and Hate the Hitachi carbs for exactly the Same Reasons that posted here GD, I Agree Absolutely... But I Love the Weber Too... ...They are Amazingly simples and beautifully lookin´ - Powerfully Screamers too which can make any Carbed EA82 be more Powerful than it was with the Hitachi. So, if the Subie Runs fine as it is, I suggest to leave it that way; but if the Carb is bad, don´t waste your time & Money tryin´ to Fix it up... Instead I Suggest to Go Weber (Simply way) or SPFI (More Complicated) Good Luck!
  4. I Like your Subie, but I will Like to see Better Quality Pics of it
  5. In some cases with Old Bearings, our Local Mechanics use this Procedure: Takin´ Out the Bearing (If it´s Possible) Without Damagin´ it, and then they "Cook" in a Metal Can, an enough amount of Bearings Grease Nº 2 untill it is almost Liquid, and then they put the bearing in the Grease Can, but they do it with a large metallic wire, so they can move the Bearin´ into the Liquid Grease to force it to go inside the Bearin´... Then after few minutes (Around Fifteen) take appart the Can (Carefully, it´s Hot!) and wait untill it cools enought to safely take it and Mount it again... But if it isn´t possible to Take Out the Bearin´ ... I don´t know other way you can do for Proper Greasin´ it; but Maybe using a good Grease (I Suggest the Same Graphitted Grease for Constant Velocity Joints) Good Luck!
  6. I Saw this Link: http://www.internetautoguide.com/auto-recalls/67-int/1990/subaru/loyale/rs/index.html about Subaru Recalls... and This Particular one is for the Loyale RS.
  7. Could you Post pics of it here? ... it will be Nice!
  8. No; I don`t Think so... `cos We have some RS Loyales in my Country, But I don`t have much more info...
  9. Nice Project... I made some Alike. Good Luck!
  10. If it´s Carbed (With the Hitachi I Supose) it may be the Secondary Vacuum... Maybe it is Disconnected, or Maybe it isn´t Workin´ Properly... I Suggest to do all what you said you wanna do, and if Problems Persist, Check Carefully the Secondary of the Craptachi Carb. Good Luck!
  11. EJ Engine in a Loyale is a Nice Idea! But you Should Forget about the "Three Main Bearings Forever" Slogan...
  12. Basically None... but just in Case your Alt has a Regulator Damage, is Easier to Fix it up without takin` the Whole Alt appart. Also, you can "Manually" Set the Average amps. in Idle... but it can be Dangerous... Overvoltage can Fry a Radio, Headlight lamps... Etc...
  13. Yes! ... You`re Right! In Spanish we usually use the Same Word for Both: Motor
  14. First of All: Welcome! Second: I`m not Sure what is an 4 wheel down toad or dingy... Have you Some Pics About?
  15. My EA82 Overcools Too... I Removed the Thermostat Forever! (Remember: I Live in the Caribbean - No Snow ) Have you Checked the Thermostat?
  16. Welcome! Yes, mikeshoup is Right, you should install an Electrical Motor to the Driver`s Door Lock, so it can Engage or Not Locks, and if it Actuates with the Driver`s Lock, it will Activate the Rest of the Door`s Locks. It is Simple and it can be done Easily if you buy the Electric Motor in a Car`s Alarms Shop or Somethin` Alike. Also, Sorry for my English... ...My Mother Tongue is Spanish. Greetings from Honduras, CentralAmerica
  17. (Well... this is not Related to Water Powered Cars, but since it is a Related to alternative Powered Cars... I Wanna Share this: ) Once Upon a Time, a Great Scientist Called Nikola Tesla, Lived and Proved to the World that is Easy to Get and Use Free Energy (Electrical) he invented Radio (Not Marcony, but was in the 90`s when a Judge came out with the Right Sentence, Marconi Just did copy Tesla`s Ideas) and Also Tesla is the Father of the AC Power Lines that everybody has on it`s Homes, etc, etc... Tesla did change the Gasoline Engine on his Car (An Old Pierce-Arrow) for an Electrical One, that ran very good without batteries! See This: http://www.evworld.com/view.cfm?section=article&storyid=1062 Also, a new Company is in Its Way Developing an Electric Car named Tesla, Guess Why? For Mo` info, See: http://www.treehugger.com/files/2006/08/tesla_roadster.php How about to Make an Electric Loyale? Electrical Engines has its Full Torque in Almost All the RPMs they Can Make...
  18. Really? Me Too . . . . . . . . . . . I Really think that your Subie can be Fixed, Also: I Really Think that Almost Anything on a Car Can Be Fixed! ... So, I Suggest to post here Pics of the Damage, maybe one of us can Come out with Great Ideas! Good Luck!
  19. And How About a Carbed EA Engine? ... I didn`t try Ethanol or Somethin` Alike; but I Run Poor Octane Gas and High Octane Gas without much Difference, in my Weberized EA82... but, How it would Handle Ethanol/Gas Mix? Just Curious, `cos I Won`t use Antyhin` that could Damage my Subies on `em.
  20. Yes!... Well, I just wanna say that I Wasn`t Talkin` About Turbos or Superchargers; I was Talkin` of This "Fan": http://www.tornadofuelsaver.com/272/tornadofuelsaver/tfs.php?PHPSESSID=02fc009c275dc0388ba21a0089e317a2 And This Magnetic "Fuel Stabilizer" or Sometin` : http://www.fuelmaxes.com/index.htm The Site is in Spanish, but has a Lot of Pictures... I Have one "Magnetic Thing" just Other Brand; placed behind the Weber, in my White Wagon EA82... it was a Christmas Gift so, I installed it, and Guess What? I`ve noticed NOTHING New, not more Power, nor more Mileage... it Just is There, and I Leave it There `cos it was a Gift from a Really Nice Person who bring it for me with much Hopes and Love... And`I don`t wanna say to that Person: "That Thing is Fake" `cos I don`t wanna Hurt Feelings... :-\ (this is an Animated Picture ef my EA82 White Wagon) ...Maybe it is one Reason of why it Sells good... Other Reason can be Desperate People Tryin` to Economize Fuel; but this "Thing" is Very Very Expensive in my Country, so I will preffer to put that money in Gas instead...
  21. Yes, I Think so... I Never Heard about Vortex Valves... But not much time Ago, I Heard About Somethin` alike, for EFI Engines, it was some sort of Tiny Fan that supposed to Increase Air Flow and engine`s Performance... People at that time say that it wasn`t worth the cost... and others alerted about that tiny fan, that it in some cases can loose itself and go Down the Intake Damagin` components... Maybe the Vortex is Really Good as they Say... ...But Untill anybody proof its Goodness... I`ll Stay Away from those...
