  1. Well... After all the Most Important is that You are O.K.!!! And also is Nice to Know that your Subie Survived pretty Well... Both are Strong!
  2. What is the Advantage?, Last Longer?, Increased Performance? ... I never Heard about Magnecor...
  3. Not only a Bad Thermostat... Also bad Timing, bad EGR, and a Clogged Exhaust pipes can contribute to Overheat your Engine, and there is one more thing: If your Radiator have a Heavy Mixture of Coolant / Water (More than 70% of Coolant) and the engine have passed much time without start (For example, when you leave your car for more than a month without startin` it`s engine) the Coolant will for sure, make a Cystals Build Up, leavin` it with poor performance... I was havin` same problem with my EA82, the year when Hurricane Mitch destroyed almost all our Roads and bridges (1998) my EA82 sat in the Garage for almost six months... and Radiator build up Destroyed it hability to flow water... I changed the whole Rad. with a Double one (Metallic) Made in Honduras, and Removed Forever the Thermostat (I live in the Caribbean Tropics) and Problem Solved. I suggest you to Check Thermostat, and Timin` ... Good Luck!
  4. I Gonna make a Trip to Capital City Tomorrow, Just to Ask Banks and everywhere I can, for an alternative Way to send the Payment for the Lifting Blocks... Wish me Good Luck!
  5. If Water Vapor Doesn´t Goes, maybe a Cracked Head... Or just a li´l fissure... if so, maybe you can fix it at a Good Welding Shop, but I suggest you to use the Engine for a While, maybe Vapors go... Good Luck!
  6. I am soo Sad... ...'cos Paypal Doesn't work with Honduras' Banks!
  7. Do you have Pics of that ´93 Brat? I Love Subaru Brats, and I´ll Like to see that.
  8. Except when the Ball Bearin´ is Too Loose, or Damaged. (Here, extremly dusty Roads make some Ball Bearings to last short times...)
  9. I just wanna add here for information, this: (Maybe it can Help) People at my country, Always use Kerosene in their Diesel Trucks, not in Gasoline cars... They claim that one Kerosene Gallon per every ten Diesel Gallons in a Tank, help maintain their Diesel Pump / Injectors Clean, and Diesel engines run Smoother. Also, I wanna share this related experience with you: in 1996 here was a little Gasoline lack in the Country, so I was runnin` almost out of Gas and I needed to do a 70 Miles trip in my EA82 Subie. I went from one to another Gas station, searchin` for Gasoline... after three ones, I found in one, My EA82 was with the Gas Indicator lower than the "E"... I asked the sales boy, to fill up my Tank, while I went to the Bathroom, and to the mini mart to shop some snacks for the Trip. Then I came back, pay the gas and Go... after 9 miles my subie started to loose power very fast, also a very inmense cloud of Smoke came from the Exhaust, and the engine want to shut off itself... Then I realize that the Sales boy did Fill up the Tank with Just Diesel! I just did stop the car in a Downhill, then I adjusted the Mixture screw of the Hitachi carb. that was there (Now Weber) to full open, and the Ralenti Screw to maximum, to prevent engine shut Down, `cos I can`t stop in the middle of the Road with my Family in the Car... Removed the Air filter Too and Gone! Yes, my EA82 did 70 Miles just with Diesel... I Swear it. It was a very slow ride, not above of 30 MPH and in 2nd or 3rd Gears... The engine was Extremly Hot, Near the redline... but it Survives. Then, next day I removed the Gas Tank and Clean washed it, also Fuel lines, and Change the Spark Plugs, and Refill it with Gasoline... and the EA82 was Ready for another Adventure! Diesel did not much Damage, but it`s lower Octane and Oily Characteristics, did make the Engine Hot and very very weak, but it Did it and Survive. Diesel are almost like Kerosene in some ways... but I do Not suggest to Use it in a Gasoline Engine.
  10. Why did you sell it? I really Dream about to Obtain a Brat... Well, maybe some day. Here in my Country, old Brats are Really Expensive. (Cars maintain it`s prices for many Years, and some of them with time becomes more expensive than new, if they`re good)
  11. Well, Long long time Ago... (Back in `90s) my white EA82 Wagon got a Loose Bulb (I dropped the Battery hittin` the Bulb`s Base) so then the Headlight got Water (Not just moisture, it was about two ounces of Water) `cos I washed the Engine... I did get out the entire Headlight, and then I removed some water by Chakin` it without bulb, and then I putted it in the Floor, and connected in a 110V, a 150Watts Reflector bulb, facin` the Headlight for three hours... it became too hot, so the Water and moisture did evaporate and gone. But be Carefull: some 110V reflectors may come too Hot, and can break the Glass of the Headlight, or Burn plastics (or Skin) so, be Carefull. Good Luck!
  12. I had the same problems too... I Believe those bearings are Parts that Shall be Replaced every Timin` belts Change.
  13. First of All: Welcome !!! Second: I`m not Sure about your Car, Maybe it is a damaged movin` part from the Steering, or maybe something got loose... I suggest you to check it Carefully before Drivin` too much. Good Luck!
