  1. Nice Headlights! Just a Pair of Questions: Did those came on Europe´s Subies? or they was an Option There? I agree that 9004 bulbs Sucks! :-\ That´s why I use the 9104 (Rally) on my Subies Instead. But they´re Hard to Find. I´ll like to see pictures of your cars with those nice Headlights, Could you Post ´em Here?
  2. Hi Brian! Nice Work... I Like it too much! ... nice Image, but at this time, the Links on the cars aren´t working... I´ll check it Tomorrow. I really Like that Picture of your Garage, and I think that is a very good Idea to use it as the Front Page. Nice Job!
  3. Just Curious... Could you post here a Photo of the Results? Thanks and Good Luck! Have a Good Weekend Too...
  4. Hi! First of All: Thank you All for the Replies... Now I got Ideas... but a lot of Questions remain unanswered... Well I Got a Few More: Why my Weberized EA82 Engine, Almost Dies when I got a left Turn when transmision is on "Neutral" (Engine just Idles) ? Also: Where (On Internet) I can buy the 9104 Bulbs for the Headlights of my Subies? I know most of you use the 9004 bulb on your Loyales. The 9004 got it`s Light Resistances Horizontally placed on the Bulb, so it gives a Wider Beam... instead, the 9104 (Known as "Rally" Bulb) got its resistances placed Longitudinally, so it gives a Longer Beam... Plus the 100/90 Watts, it makes my Subies to illuminate the road Better. The place where I used to buy them, is now closed, so here are not more avaliable those "Rally" Bulbs. ( Brand: "Flösser" ) Maybe you know where to buy them on internet, or maybe another ones that can be similar. Maybe you know if there are another options... Please post `em here... Thanks.
  5. Well... I just saw this: http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/tf-Browse/s-10101/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2002826/showCustom-0/p-2002826/N-111+600006856+10714/c-10614 It is Interesting, about "Retrofit" the R134a. Good Luck!
  6. I`m seeing your Photo Gallery, and I got one Question: From which car did the nice red Seats came from? I wanna swap the Seats of one of my Wagons... (Well, if I can, I`ll like to Swap One of my Wagons for a Brat... ) ...And I Like the ones you have on your Brat. It looks so Nice. (the Whole Car)
  7. Nice Job! Very Clean, Well Done and good Looking. I Like that Brat!
  8. A Question: Are EA82 Models seats Interchangeable with the EA81 Models Ones? Maybe is a good Idea to look at them too...
  9. Very Nice Brat, Nice Rims & Tyres... but tell us, how did you Fit those rims?
  10. Nice Car... I Like it, the Beige Too... ... I saw those rims here too, in older models, They´re nice looking.
  11. Yes, I Agree... Don´t trade a Brat for a Wagon... Better Idea is to keep the Brat, and -if Possible- Get the Wagon!
  12. Hi! Just for Info... Long time Ago, my EA82 Came running from Los Angeles (Yes, at California) to Honduras... At a some part of the road on mexico, the Alternator Belt became too loose, just adjusted the alternator and Voilá! ... It was a Good Nice Trip... a Lot of Stories came from it! Also, I travel weekly -or Almost Weekly- from the South Coast (Pacific Ocean) to the North Coast (Caribbean Sea) of our Country, in a "Non Stop" Coast to Coast kind of travels... I call them "FLAT rump roast VOYAGES" `cos we finnish those ten or so hours, travelin` in not too good roads (Pot holes in some areas, off road in anothers, etc... ) with that part soo hurting... :-\ ... but I Enjoy those Voyages! The Past Holy week, we traveled from the Island to a Nice Beach located in Nicaragua, called "Monterlimar" ... it was a Non-Stop engine, eXpress Voyage that started early in the mornin` and finished early in the NEXT Mornin` ... Yes, it`s True! I shared the driver`s Seat with my Dad... It was Soo Nice. About 1,400 Kilometers without shuttin` off the Engine... Gotta Love that Weberized EA82!!! ...Yes!, I did put on it New Oil (I Always use 20W50 MOTUL Brand, `cos it got MINERAL Base, NO Petroleum, so it won`t leave much dirt, and the "Tick of Death" Goes with this oil... See this Page, a Subaru is in its very first Image: http://www.motul.com/ , Also here the Dealer ONLY suggest that Oil) And I did put on it, brand new Spark Plugs, and Gearbox Oil (Motul Too), Coolant, brake fluid, and Power Steerin` Fluid. So the Voyage was Soo Nice, and the car Went and Came Back without any Issue... well... It was just for Sharing my experiences... Also I did travel with it to almost All Central American Countries... But That is Another Story...
  13. Yes, I can`t Download a Copy of that interesting PDF... Do you know another Link to download that? if so, please post it here... Also, a silly Question: Which switch on the top of the steering column are you Talkin` About? Both my wagons got just one with a red triangle printed on it, and if is Pushed: Parkin` Lights on, if it`s Pulled: Parkin` Lights Off... it works like that all the time. ... ...
  14. I did shorten the shifter of my Yellow Wagon, exactly 4" down... : ...And I used the Rubber base of a Suzuki, and a aftermarket heavy polished iron Knob... It have one benefit and one problem: The Benefit is the Shorter Shiftin` Gears, you don`t hit the "Open Legs" of a tired passenger ...and it won`t hit the Radio. The Problems with a Heavy Metallic Knob are Two: Exposure to Direct Sunlight (Hot as Hell ) or Cold Climates... You Know... Cold Shifts... But it also serve to make some fun... I put over it my Baseball hat, and from the exterior the car seems to be a "No Shift" Car... I heard people seein the interior and askin` each others: Is this Automatic, or where it have the Shifter?
  15. Very Nice! Please share some photos with us, when you finish this project. Kind Regards.
  16. All that is said, is true, I just want to add that the Intake Manyfold of the EA81 is more restricted than the EA82 Manyfold, so, if you wanna install the Weber on the EA82, (I have one Wagon EA82 with the Weber 32/36, and it is soo Good! - Way Better than the original Hitachi carb.) just buy the adaptor plate to fit it on the EA82`s Manyfold... They got them in this site: www.webercarburetors.com Also, I got a thread about how to fit that adaptor plate and the remainin` hoses. it is: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=53143 Maybe it can Help... Good Luck!
  17. Well... I need the Back Seats Head rests, and the Trunk Cover (I don`t know exactly their names in English) for my two Wagons (Loyales) ... I Know that both things are just "Luxury" Things, but here, I do Preffer to have the cover on, hiding any stuff I got on the Back of my Wagon from the Thieves... Do you Got `em?
  18. Well... Normally you CAN hear the fuel pump workin` (A quiet noise) near the Gas Tank... Did the Car got Gasoline or is Empty? Check if it works, by disconecting the Fuel hose from the Intake (Carb. or FI ) and put the Key in "ON" ... if it`s O.K. you`ll see fuel comin` out of it... also: Are all the Red Lights coming on in that position? so... Maybe: You got burnt / rusted Fuses... or Water instead of Fuel. ( One year sitting is one Year... it was inside a Garage or Outside? ) So, I Suggest to check the Fuses, the Fuses` Main Links (near the Battery, a Black box) the Fuel Tank`s Status, and the Coil... Check the coil in another car... Maybe is not the coil, maybe it got rusted connections, so check `em too. Good Luck!
  19. Hi All!... First of all: Thanx for Reading and Reply this... Just few questions, maybe you can help me: How do I clean safely and re-use the Weber Carb.´s Air Cleaner Element? I am not sure... when I got my Redline Weber K731 Kit, it claims that the element is "Cleanable & Washable" so, it means Re-Usabe... But How? Maybe I´m afraid to damage it by inmersin´ it on Gasoline, or use just water... so, How do you clean your Weber Air Cleaner Elements? Or is Better to Buy another Filter? so, if this is the answer... Where -in Internet- is the better choices, and Why? ´cos I live in central america, here I only found the VolksWagen Weber Elements, but don´t fit exactly... and are too expensive, also, they seems to be of bad quiality... So maybe in Internet I can buy better ones... Any Idea where? What do you think ´bout the use of "Special" Oils on a EA82? I mean the Castrol "High Mileage" Oil... in SAE 25W60 with API "SL"... I am afraid to use it, due to the "Special Added Sealer Aditive" that it claims to have... A friend mechanic and I, think that the aditive can turn too sticky the Hydraulic Lifters and damage the engine as result... What do you Think? Same question as in the Past Nineties, when people did argue about that the use of Syntethic oil on old cars, may damage it´s engine´s Seals, due to that they aren´t designed to the cntact with it... Here I saw Subaru Loyales that say at its back: 1.3E, 1.6DL, and 1.8GL ... I asked a friend that works at the Dealer since early 80´s... he says that the first Loyale came here in december 1984, as 1985 model, it came with twin squared beamlights, and the EA81 Engine... then it came with the EA82, Also he says that the 1.3 liter engine got the "E" due to it is an Economic Version, with just four speed... Is that True? I saw that cars, yes... but with the 1.3 First I thougt that maybe it was a 1.8 sign, with the 8 damaged to look as a 3... :-\ ...but then I saw closer... It Was a real 3 Sticker! (All are just Factory Stickers) ... so I want to know which engine do they mount on it. Also, I don´t remember exactly where I read that in Europe, late Loyales came with a 2.0 Engine... Which engine is That? I know that in some countries, the Impreza is named "Grand Loyale", Are that about I did read? Did you know about Subaru Recalls? http://www.internetautoguide.com/auto-recalls/05-int/wagons/subaru/index.html My 1985 EA82 did came with a problem in the Air Conditioneer Wiring, that is easy to fix with a pair of united cables / plugs that the Dealer sells. It makes the A/C Fan start at the same time with the compressor... first loyales the fan was "Pressure" activated, and it makes the engine to overheat... I fix mine with that that correct connections, it connect between the relays and the original cables. Is Cheap. Well... those are Enough Questions to Start... If you know the Answers, or the different possibilities, I will be So Grateful ... ...also, if you have some other questions, just ask... maybe I can help you... ...And maybe it is a Good Thread for All your Li´l Questions Too... All are Welcome! Best Regards...
  20. I had the same problems that you wrote here, in my White EA82 Wagon... I did instal a new radiator and probems Gone! Yes, Aluminium looses it´s cooling capabilities with age...
  21. Also, you can go with one of those boots, to search for replacement at parts stores or junk yards... About five years ago, I replaced those boots on a friend´s loyale DL ... I took one to the Parts shop, and they come with one pair of slighty different ones, but with same size in the contact area, and they fit good the soob. They claim those were for a Toyota Tercel... but they are in a Soob now, and still workin´ fine! Maybe is good Idea to Try search for similar ones.
