Yes, it is a pretty weird insect, I've never seen it before. Long ago, I saw an orange spider, pretty big (like 6" radius) and the colour looked very intense... Seems like we have weird forms of lifes in the Caribbean tropics... Kind Regards.

Firstly I purchased an original (stock) used, front coil spring, from another 2000 second gen Kia Sephia from the Junk Yard, in order to take measurements of it with my vernier scale (Caliper Tool known here as "Pie de Rey" = King's Foot), and then to carry it as a Sample for comparison purposes; then I searched, and searched for suitable replacements, among piles of coil springs and strut assemblies, found on many different local Junk Yards, called here "Yonkers" as you can see in the following photo: I went there carrying my Vernier Scale and made annotations of the Measurements found on the Coil Springs that could be suitable replacements; then I came home, contrasted those measurements and researched online further information regarding those coil springs that I found to be as possible candidates; because they don't only need to have similar size and shapes; they must be of similar capabilities. I needed to compare their Measurements, Spring Rates, Load Rates and Wire Diameters, to find the perfect ones for the application.

It is pretty difficult to be swimming upstream, because almost all the sedan owners, are seeking to lower their cars, while I am seeking to lift our car; and all I found online are lowering coil springs; however, the front shock absorbers does not give too much room to install bigger coil springs, like the rears have, and the front ones already are stiff, not saggy like the rears were.

Lifting the "KiaStein" ...continued. As I already explained on posts on the previous page, I already found the perfect coil springs to lift the Rear a little, while getting rid of the saggy butt that the Sephia used to have... ...but now, I'm seeking a way to lift the Front the same amount, to level it.

Regarding the Lifting of the "KiaStein" ... the rear is perfectly done, as explained on the previous posts above, but the front needs some research, search, test and error to get well done... This other photo was shot when the Kia was parked next to a Pine tree, There was a pretty rare, four-legged spider! ... ... I've never seen such a spider before.

The other day my wife shared with me, a couple of photos of the "KiaStein" taken with her cellphone's camera, this is at her job's parking lot, noticing how small does look the Sephia, parked among double cab, 4X4 pick up trucks that are pretty common in Latin America. (Left= Ford Ranger 6 speed double cab turbo diesel, Right = VolksWagen Amarok 6 speed Double Cab Turbo Diesel)

The Dipstick on the Automatic Transmission of these Kias, only mark around the last eight ounces of ATF, so if the dipstick readings are low, do not pour half quart of ATF or you'll easily overfill the transmission; pour slowly some few ounces with the engine at idle speed and then, repeat the measuring procedure described above, on post Nº 695, to see if the ATF level is right. The ATF level Raises rapidly (within two minutes) on the Dipstick if the car sits at idle on normal operating temperatures; so it is important to repeat the procedure for measuring properly the ATF level, each time it will be measured, otherwise you'll have a False reading that shows more than what really is inside. Also, a slight overfill makes the Automatic transmission to have Bubbles on the ATF, which leads it to shift abruptly with a "Bump" mainly, from first to second gear... you can't believe how much of a difference makes to have the Automatic Transmission pefectly filled to the proper level of the adequate ATF. For those who might being wondering... I was completely offline for more than half month, this time because I had a minor accident while searchin' for coil spring alternatives at one of the local Junk Yards; somehow I fell from almost two meters and stomped my right foot on a rusted, sharp metal tip that pierced my shoe and part of my foot, at this place: Also I was fighting depression and a bronchitis due to the extreme climate changes that we've experienced here at the Caribbean lately, with icy, foggy mornings that don't let you see after hundred feet, then warm to hot mid days, then to cool nights on same days... Since this thread is a Continuation of ~► This, I kindly suggest you to follow our advice first, and drain that ATF+Oil mixture, change the filter and pour fresh 20W~50 oil on your subie's EA82 engine, prior to spend money on another engine, because maybe that's all that it needs... Kind Regards.
