Teach me about OBD II Scanners before buying one
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Loyale 2.7 Turbo's topic in Shop Talk
Alaska is a Wonderful place, but I can only see it on Photos and Movies, my Caribbean self doesn't bear so much cold climates, even our cool caribbean winters, makes me snooze... You're Welcome! ... ... Thank you for your kind words. I'm really glad to know that you find the information I share, Useful. Thank you for sharing with us, the information regarding that Autel Maxidas Scanner, it will be Useful. Regarding the Lack of Space on the SD memory card, have you read the Scanner's Manual, in order to be Sure how much Memory is the Maximum allowed, for the Scanner? Maybe you can change the 4 Gb SD card with another one of 16 Gb or even up to 32 Gb, in order to gain more space for the Updates, and that also gives you a Backup, on your old SD card; but do not exceed the Maximum memory size. I have an old HP camera that only allows SD cards up to 4 Gb, from the old format known as SD only, it doesn't allows the newer standard known as SDHC (High Capacity), nor anything above four Gb, however, is my favourite Camera to make close up photos in Macro mode; the newer Sony camera I have, allows SDHC up to 32 Gb. I'll like to see Photos of your Lifted Subaru with VolksWagen seats in Alaska, have you started a Build thread, yet? Kind Regards.- 36 replies

Carburetor on '86' GL
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to 3crows's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yes, but while you obtain a Weber... There are three things that you can do, that might Help a lot: Adjust the Idle Speed screw to let it idle a little Fast: 1,000 RPMs. Adjust the Air/Fuel mixture screw, until it revs easier, without hesitation and RPM's will increase. Then after that is achieved, turn back the RPM's to +/- 800. Erase the vacuum activated secondary (High) Stage, and make it Mechanical. If the idle continues being erratic, the Carburetor might be Dirty and I suggest a good Cleansing. Doing such things will improve the idle, but also the Response during Acceleration, here is an easy guide with Video, regarding how to make Mechanical, a vacuum operated Carburetor, I hope this ideas will be Helpful for you: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/147163-mechanical-conversion-on-hitachi-carburetors/ Kind Regards. -
I hope everything is alright, you can count with my prayers for you. We really miss you here... Kind Regards.

Kia Sephia Sporty
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Loyale 2.7 Turbo's topic in Non Soob Cars and Bikes Discussion
That's good idea, I found a store that makes anything you might want on the Automotive world, in polyurethane; they "rebuilds" motor mounts, transmission mounts, etc... everything, changing the Rubber, with custom-made polyurethane, they make bushings, etc... but sadly, they can not make such "Donuts" to raise / level the front on the "KiaStein". I'm in "Low Budget Mode" still, so I can not do the same I did with the Rear suspension, because it is expensive... Despite not being on level, the car rides and handles Great, so we're simply using it as is, and hoping that soon I could afford to search & buy coil springs with more turns and thicker beams, to level the "KiaStein" front. Kind Regards. -

Welcome! Yes, that's the Route to start learning towards the Swap. Also I kindly suggest you to click on my signature, on page # 5 of my build thread, you'll find a list of the Files that I share there, among them you'll find the Awesome guide on such swap, written by Numbchux, you can download it there; also, this extra information regarding the Engines Swap on Subarus, might be Helpful as well: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/105325-engine-swap-info/ Kind Regards.

Yes, while the Subaru ER27 engine swap is a bad idea because it doesn't woth the effort, the Subaru EG / EZ engines swap is great, but might be very Expensive to be well done, because it needs the EJ transmission to be reliable... Some months ago, I shared this at the Legendary "Strange & Weird Subaru Stuff" Thread:

help remove hill holder
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Carmen's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yes, that's exactly what I want to use, otherwise I will need to obtain some adapters, and I really dislike to use Adapters, except on emergency cases, or for short time until finding the proper part. I really liked this design better: But I never found out which style of seat does it have. Also, a used part from another car might be a direct replacement: long ago I readed here on the forums, that certain Toyotas from the 1980's and 1990's decades (Hi-Lux 22R Pick Up) had a "T" with a longer part that is a direct fit, even with the proper seats; but I never obtained further information about that... I hope that someone here will know and enlighten our path. Kind Regards. -

Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Carmen's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Thank you! Some fittings for brake piping, have Bubble seat, others have Flared Seat, and others have inverted flare seat. This is an Example of the Fittings and their appropriate Seats, take from another automotive Forum where also I post: So, with that "T" I will need to obtain a small portion of Brake line pipe, and some Fittings like this ones: So, I'll need to know which kind of Seats has the "T" to receive the Fittings. Kind Regards. -
Yes and is a really Bad idea. Unless you want to upgrade Brakes, Suspension, etc... and make room for a Radiator; besides other many things. You can See photos and read further info, here: ~► www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/122165-ea82-to-er27-swap/ However, others succeeded with that idea; such like this EA82 coupe with six cylinder subaru engine swap in Russia, video here: ~► https://www.facebook.com/100004138294409/videos/576652559149349/ Kind Regards.

Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Carmen's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Thank you for the ideas and part numbers. The "T" looks like it has a straight pass only, no seats at all? Long ago I shared my information in a Writeup regarding how to install a Rear parking brake on the third gen Leone (EA82 or Loyale) models, on which I stated on the last paragraphs, that having two levers, one for the Front parking Brakes, and another for the Rear parking Brakes, is like having a poor man's differential Lock on handy, ideal for wheeling offroading. Here is the Writeup, in case you want to see Photos and read further information on the subject: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/129779-the-definitive-rear-e-brake-retrofit-solution/ Kind Regards. -

Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Carmen's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Thank you for sharing the information and the Photos. I thought about adding an Hydraulic Parking Brake long ago, Here's the Thread with further information: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/125967-hydraulic-rear-e-brake-on-my-bumblebeast/ I need the exact Specs for that "T" or better yet, a part number. My problem is that I can't stop my "BumbleBeast" for long time, so I will like to have a Direct Replacement in my hands, in order to do the Job in one afternoon, as simply as removing the old Hill Holder's Check Valve, and installing the "T" on its place. Kind Regards. -
Yes. I shared those Photos here, because seems like the Manual Choke wasn't an Option for the EA82 in USDM, (maybe on the DL lineup?) but I found them on the LADM (Latin American Domestic Market) Specs' Subarus, as well in AUDM, NZDM, JDM, and certain European markets; However, this Manual Choke is more often seen on the EA71 engined, third gen Leones. Kind Regards.
