  1. Somehow, that is the Exact description of the Thin Dipstick on my Wife's Car, But both my '85 Subaru and my '69 Mercury had wide Dipsticks, And never had such problem with them... Kind Regards.
  2. My Subie is also an '85 that my dad purchased New then, Thirty years and 400K+ Miles and its EA82 still is Great! The Lousy timing belt setup is their only downside, But those are non-interference engines ... ... The Plattform is Great as well. Kind Regards.
  3. Not "Perfect" at all, but as near to great as it could Get, for a Thirty Years Old EA82 Wagon. I try to fix every single issue, as fast as they occur... Kind Regards.
  4. Usually we focus in the most important aspects of an issue, and forgot the simplest aspects, that might be the Culprit of the Pulling to one side and / or the uneven wear of the Tires: inflation. All the Tires must be Kept at the Proper / Recommended PSi, otherwise the car will pull to one side and / or develop uneven wear. Kind Regards.
  5. ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/71510-ideas-on-swaping-a-weber-carb-on-ea82's/
  6. ...Oh!, I forgot that compared to every other car on the Road nowadays, the EA82 Engine with the Weber Carb on really Deep Accelerations, Makes an induction Boxer noise that sounds like it will Blow a Piston thru the Exhaust pipe in no time! But that is "Natural" for these weberized Boxer engines, somehow ... ... I am so accustomed to such behaviour, that I really miss it when I Drive any other car. Kind Regards.
  7. Like Jonas wrote, also my '85 Subie is Running fine. Maybe Noisy Axles, sometimes... Kind Regards.
  8. I solved that, by switchin' from the Normal "A" type bands, to the Narrower "F" type Bands, that actually Seats on the Pulleys, no more screeching sound.
  9. I tried to get this thread Back on Topic... ...let me try again, in order to Help the Thread's Starter: Any good Mechanic with Knowledge of old-school Subarus in the Washington Area?
  10. Also, besides vacuum leaks, I bet that the Carburetor needs some Cleansing. Worth to try some Sprays of Carb Cleaner as well... Kind Regards.
  11. That's a Nice paint job, looks Awesome. Also I like the Colour, you'll only need the BRAT decals, some USMB members does great quality Reproductions, like Pooparu, see: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/151788-lots-of-subaru-reprodution-decals-my-new-store/ Can't wait to see Photos of the finished product! Kind Regards.
  12. R12 is widely available in Honduras, I guess that refrigerators still use it, because cars stopped using it long ago... So, you need a Subaru Mechanic around the Washington Area, I know that there are some great Mechanics on this Forum...
  13. Thank you for coming back to your Thread and letting us Know the solution. So the idea might help other Users in the future. Kind Regards.
  14. More information on the Subject, here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/86790-hid-lights-on-loyale-yes-or-not-why/page-4?do=findComment&comment=760580 Kind Regards.
  15. For EA81 and EA82, I recommend those, which are the ones fitted from Factory, but I prefer the version which has a groove: BPR6EY11 ~► http://ngk-sparkplugs.com/bpr6ey11-p-2217.html Kind Regards.
  16. You'll need Millimetric ones of the Best Quality you can find, I always use the ones that are inox / rust proof, regarding the measurements: as I am not sure, I'll avoid to write them, but you shall not need to change 'em all, only the worn ones; I found some worn bolts that holds the intake manifold on my Subie, and changed them out, as you can see in the photo below: I thought the same about my Wife's car, however, after many repairs, time, patience (and Money), it is running Flawlessly and is Reliable. I knew it, I was just kidding. Don't forget to charge your Camera and shoot some photos of the process, to share with us. Also Don't forget to buy the Gaskets for the intake Manifold. Good Luck, Kind Regards.
  17. My 24 LED Bar is Blinding for sure, I don't like to have such kind of Glare for the incoming drivers, it would be disrespectful for them, and dangerous for everyone on the road as well. I was hoping to obtain a pair of small LED lights to substitute the under bumper Halogens, to be used along the High Beams during night travels, as we use the Halogens; so they turns off when we switch to Low Beams. What I've changed recently, were the Tail light's Sockets for the single-contact 1156 bulbs; those were made from plastics that crumble with age, so I obtained the Best sockets I could, locally, those are Flösser, made in Germany:
  18. Welcome! We love Photos here, so maybe you can share a couple of Photos of your Subie with us. The Curry story sounds fun, does your Subie still Smells like Curry? Kind Regards.
  19. Good idea, I have used the stick of an old broom as well. Hoping that the witch (our home maid) doesn't need it to fly during the swap... Don't forget to be Sure that you already have everything you'll need to do the Job successfully, prior to start; such like tools, penetrating oil, anti-seize oil, the parts you want to replace, extra bolts, washers, etc... and a Stereo for music in the Background; also maybe snacks, and soda or beer! Good Luck, Kind Regards.
  20. I really Dislike LED Bars on Road, those must be used during Offroadings only, but people here in Honduras are using such Led Bars on City and highway drivings, and their blinding glare is very Dangerous; I prefer the H.I.D.'s on my Subie, rather than any LED bar for sure. Unlike LED bars, my H.I.D.'s can be adjusted to spread the light on an appropriate pattern, and also have Low / High beams. Kind Regards.
  21. The H.I.D.'s on my "BumbleBeast" has been working Flawlessly, they have yellowish 5000K colour and Low / High beams, whose low provides a sharp cut that avoids to Blind the incoming Traffic; I can not complain for the H.I.D.'s on my Subie, even after seven years of continous use. My Subie has Headlamps with Glass Lenses that keeps being fully transparent, no matter the age; but my Wife's car, the (in)Famous "KiaStein" has Headlamps with Polycarbonate Lenses, which gets Yellowish and thus means much more Glare, so I have not installed H.I.D.'s on her car. I installed more powerful 100W / 80W Flösser H4 bulbs in her car, with ceramic sockets... Kind Regards.
  22. So, I took the Family to another weekend trip, to a small Mountain Village, The full story and photos are ~► Here, but lI'll share some on this post. I was at a Hilltop when I spotted this... ...first gen Kia Sephia (a Korean Ford Escort), I used my Camera's Zoom to see its Enormous... ...LED light bars ... ... so, I walked down to take a Closer photo, see: I remember people were complaining about the Glare, from HID lights Retrofitted on Halogen Headlamps... ...this must be even Worse. I refuse to install LED bars on my Cars.
  23. I did some home repairs for a Guy who offered to pay me with a couple of small LED lamps, one for each corner of the Bumper of my Wife's car, I thought it was good idea to swap the Halogens with Leds, so, I worked changing a toilet, repairing some piping fixtures, and some roof lamps... But the guy gave me this, instead the two small ones: He told me that he thought he had a pair, but that is a single one with 24 LED's ... and I really don't like it; the light pattern can Not be adjusted properly and those provides too much Glare that blinds incoming traffic, which is Dangerous... in the end I had to take that lamp with me, and now I am trying to sell it among the people I know...
  24. I have been searching for a way to have Better illumination on my Wife's car, as you can read & see photos, here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/101718-kia-sephia-sporty/page-27?do=findComment&comment=1297438
