Holy Cow! ... ... maybe that is much more than the whole car's cost. With that Budget, I rather prefer to swap an electric motor instead... Some examples here: ~► http://www.ev-propulsion.com/aboutus.html This is more expensive: ~► http://www.electricsubaru.com/ Subaru 360 Electric: ~► http://cleantechnica.com/2012/01/20/subaru-360-revived-as-battery-electric-car-for-the-cuteness/ Kind Regards.

Weber issues... idle won't kick down
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to LucasP's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yes, it could be the Cable, worth to Replace it. But you can Test it while it is unattached to the Carb, Maybe it only needs some Lubrication... I like this comment: I prefer stiff accelerator pedals as well, but something in balance, not too hard nor too soft. I have a local Friend who owns a Huge Hyundai Galloper II Dual Range 4X4 Turbodiesel Touring Wagon, and its extremely Soft pedal, makes it super Sensitive, so it accelerates on bumpy roads easy, and it is even Worse on offroadings... I told him to install another return spring, stronger than the stock one, but he refuses to... Kind Regards. -

Dear Uberoo, thank you for the advice. However... sometimes you realize that it will never worth the effort to try to correct someone who already has a bad heart, and that you will loose more than you could ever gain while trying. "The worst blind person is the one who refuses to see" That is an old spanish saying, full of wisdom, meaning that no matter how much time and effort you spend on one person who doesn't care, it will be a complete waste in the end. So, I decided to left that place, Forever... Kind Regards.- 44 replies

The Awesome Older Generation Picture Thread
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to 6 Star's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I call the one I made, the "interFooler" Please see ~► Here, for further details. Rivets / Blind Rivets could break the ABS Plastic. I kindly suggest you to use screws with washers, instead. With nuts in the underside. Kind Regards. -

Ea81 weber 32/36 or 38/38
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to tweety's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
My EA82 runs with 140 in Primary (Low) Stage and 162 in High (Secondary) Stage main Fuel Jets; it runs rich when its cold, especially for not having a Choke, But also that issue fades fast as it warms. Kind Regards. -
Weber issues... idle won't kick down
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to LucasP's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Is your Weber carb, a Progressive 32/36 or a Synchronous 38/38? If there are two return springs and the cable route is alright and moving smooth, then the problem should be related to some play on the carburetor shaft and / or the small gears that moves the secondary (High) stage butterfly, if it is a 32/36, they might be staying slighly open. Somehow I believe that having two return springs is an overkill, and also if those are not aligned to the carburetor's Shaft, they might have made the carburetor's shaft to work forced on a side, during all the time it has been in your subie, carving an angle on its base. In my own humble opinion, it worth to take out that Carburetor once again, and check carefully the movement of its mechanical parts, including the choke just in case, and try to emulate the return springs' counterforce this time, during the inspection, to find a free play on the shafts. Kind Regards. -
The information found online, points to different results for the same wheels, so I don't know if I should obtain a set of This lug nuts: ~► http://www.ebay.com/itm/20-Chrome-Mag-Seat-Lug-Nuts-For-Nissan-Factory-OEM-Aluminum-Wheels-M12x1-25-/141398323678 Instead of the blue ones that I have.

Thank you, she is Alright now, thanks to God. In another subject, my subie remains still on forced "vacations" at the Garage, since I am afraid that a simple oil change would not be enough, due to the high pitch Gearing noises coming from the Box... I can afford the oil now, but I believe that maybe it will be better idea to remove the Box from the car and inspect its internals... then I would need to purchase certain parts maybe... so I'll continue saving. Meanwhile, by using only one car in the family, (my Wife's Car), we're saving money from fuel, and I'm transporting my Wife to her Job and back, and my Daughter to her Kindergarden and back; and doing my errands in the meantime... I'll update this thread if any news happens. Kind Regards.- 44 replies

By the way, these Wheels are featured in the Nissan 240sx @ the "Need for Speed = Underground 2" PC game: Nissan uses the Same pitch as Subaru = 1.25 However, I changed all the sixteen lugs for Toyota Hilux, So my "BumbleBeast" has the thicker 1.50 pitch thread. I changed them all during the Hub Redrill I did in 1996... That was the reason why I posted the specs here, hoping that maybe there's a Nissan fan among us, because I couldn't find proper info online; the only thing related to those Wheels that I found online, is this funny Video, of a guy placing the nuts Backásswards: The comments @ YouTube are so Funny! Edit: those pictured here,, are the same seven spoke wheels I have.

Dear Tom, with this: You mean that the Blue Nuts that I obtained for the Wheels, are alright? Because they have a Wider seat, and it is angled, but seems to not be @ 60º That is the problem... other nuts have the 60º angle, but a much narrower base. Kind Regards.
-
Yes, that makes sense. Yes, that was the reason I obtained the Blue nuts, because their base was bigger. What I didn't noticed at the Store, was that they were slightly Curved, instead straingt angled. That means that I better remove all the new, Blue nuts, and obtain others (the old ones were Sold along the old wheels) with Straight 60º angle? How about nuts that have that sort of wide Washer as the old ones? Please, let me know what do you think about this. I just want my Subie to be Safe. Kind Regards.

If the rotor turns and the Timin' belts are alright, your Distributor might have a burnt ignition module. I wrote a small writeup with the testing procedures regarding that: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/129601-how-to-easily-test-an-ignition-module/ Kind Regards.

Sorry, the link only goes to an "Error" page at "onedrive.live.com" I couldn't see any image... Kind Regards. -
I investigated and the angle of the seats, on those Aluminium Wheels I have, is not 45º They have a 60º angle, and the lug nuts also seems to have similar angle, but curved...

I asked this Before, in a previous post of this thread: The wheels I have, came from a 1991 Nissan 240sx known as "S13" and they are centered by the Lug nuts, not by the Hubs, but I've been driving my "BumbleBeast" like that, since year 1996, when I did the Hub re-drill to change the lug pattern. I'm not sure if I am using the Proper lug nuts, the blue ones shown above; or if I need to obtain different lug nuts. Please let me know. Kind Regards.
