Loyale Parking Brake Adjustment o_O
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to mstr_pete's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Somehow, this thread is getting Funny! If he is spinning the Rears... ► then the user is the issue: The parking brake goes to the Front on these EA82's If he is spinning the Fronts... ► then I bet that the Parking Brake Mechanism is worn and needs a rebuild. Usually the small steel "Triangle" worns out and fails to Push the Bolt that pushes the Piston... I got rid of such mechanism and erased the front parking brake from the Calipers, long years ago, because they get worn out beyond any safe repair, so my "BumbleBeast" features a Custom Rear parking brake, which holds stronger the Subie on our mountainous Honduran streets, plenty of steep hills... Kind Regards. -

There are some members making Adapter plates to allow the use of Alternative Wheels, Here is an Example: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/138796-4x140-to-5x100-bolt-pattern-adapters/?do=findComment&comment=1168312 In my case, I prefer to Redrill the Hubs; I did a 4X114.3 redrill since 1996, and I have been driving my Subie like that since then without issues. Kind Regards. -

Double Row Radiators has a Beefier core than Single Row Radiators. Look at them sideways... Yes, you're Confused, this time because you did Not read that thread completely. No, the Prius twin fans was Never used, it was there for measurement and Comparison purposes only; I used an Aftermarket slim fan, please re-check said thread for complete information regarding the Fans and also the Lower temp Thermoswitch, but this time, take your time for Reading Completely, because there I also explained the Fan Clutch: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/125754-easy-guide-on-five-steps-to-twin-electric-fans-swap/ That is where the Auxiliary Electric fan, must Kick on, in the EA82's that came with a Mechanical Fan / Electric Fan Arrangement... If that Subaru were mine, I would be Sure that there is no Headgasket issue, then I would thrown the Mechanical Fan and place a Good slim Aftermarket electric Fan there, and change the Single row Radiator with a Dual row one, plus change the Thermoswitch with the one pointed on the above linked Writeup; all that fixed the Temperature problems on my Subie, since many years ago. Kind Regards. -

You're Welcome! Kind Regards. -
Oh man, that's Awful... I bet it should have something to do with the Website that offers the Software, Sometimes they gets the right to Distribute softwares, but they bundle their own malwares and spywares inside the installers. Also, I bet that this thread will get moved to the Offtopic forums... Kind Regards.

You're welcome. Don't forget to retrofit the EA82's Proportioning valve, in case you do a Rear Disc Brakes' Swap on your EA81: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/56957-rear-disc-brake-swap/page-2?do=findComment&comment=1289350 Kind Regards. -

Yes, I know this is a... ...but regarding this: That is the Proportioning Valve, the EA82's has it hiding on the Rear undercarriage: Kind Regards. -
What do you think about Covering the lug nuts with empty Plastic bullets? No, I will Not do that, it was another idea from my Friend... I dislike to have things that could fall off easily from my Cars. Kind Regards.

Yes, here it is: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/106807-improved-shock-absorbers-and-spring-coils-on-loyales/ But it is regarding the Third Gen Leone / EA82 only, Not for the Second Gen / EA81. ... ... Here you Go: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/47583-rear-disc-conversion-on-ea81-ea82s/ Kind Regards. -
I painted their outer lip in Yellow, to match the "Radioactive Yellow" finish on my "BumbleBeast" but, since this is an industrial grade, chip resistant Paint, that Yellow painted over the Black paint, looks darker than the Subie, somehow. Then, my friend talked to me about this "Rim Pro-Tec" Wheel Bands, see: ~► http://www.carid.com/rimpro-tec/rimpro-tec-wheel-bands-16610587.html However, I preffer Paint, rather than anything that could fall off or be stolen.

It was a Rainy weekend... so instead of borrowing the Air Compressor and the rest of the Hardware, I went to Paint 'em at my Friend's shop, I let 'em dry there and bring 'em home today's early morning, then I went to mount the Tyres; so the wheels are little Dirty in that photo. The tyres are still 205 / 60 R 15" (measures 25" overall diameter) like the previous ones, but these were gifted to me, after some Restore / Remodel jobs I did during the past months on a House, I hope they'll perform well on my Mixed onroad / offroad drivings...

Thanks, have you Voted in the Poll? Those Rims does Not fit the Stock Hubs, because you know, Subaru used 4X140 lug pattern on these Models, and the Rims I posted here, are 4X114.3 ... You can use an adapter, there are some made by other USMB members. In my Case, I redrilled the Hubs almost two decades ago, see: All your answers are in previous posts of this Thread. Kind Regards.

The wheels are looking good in Black! For some reason, your Photos... ...are Gone, I bet you moved your whole Album on Photobucket. Kind Regards.

Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Subasaurus's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yes, I agree that the engine needs a proper diagnosis, However, the EA82 engine's cooling system usually is very Weak, So this solution have worked good, if there is No problems with headgaskets, Waterpump or other items: Kind Regards. -
Yes, but only if you Decline. However, you can choose if the installer of the software you wanted, will also install the parasite Software bundled on the Original install, or Not. Kind Regards.

Beside the good advices posted above by Uberoo, You must be aware that there are Two types of Radiators for the EA82: The Single-Row ones, and the Double Row Ones. You can change the Single Row for a Double Row Radiator, And you can use a Lower Temp ThermoSwitch that I found, here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/125754-easy-guide-on-five-steps-to-twin-electric-fans-swap/ Kind Regards. -
Subaru Gives A List Of Names For Its Tribeca Replacement: ~► http://www.subienews.com/2015/06/whats-in-a-name-subaru-give-a-list-of-names-for-its-tribeca-replacement-we-pick-a-winner/ Somehow I'm one of those persons that like to see Cars' Names that continue Living, despite that the model Changes a Lot with ages; Names such like Corolla, Mustang, Skyline, etc... has been for decades among us, Subaru used to have a "Legendary" name with the Leone and it was a shame that they Discontinued its Use; now seems that the same will happen with the Tribeca, according to the information given on the link above... What do you think about that? ... Kind Regards.

Maybe I should use another kind of Lug Nuts that has a small 45º bottom, instead those ones. I'll like to know your Opinions. Anyone with experience in such matter? Today I'll do the Paint Job, wish me Luck! Kind Regards.
