The only thing I purchased at the Local Kia Dealer, was a brand new Fuel Filter, the ones that says "Kia" on red Boxes has twice the Price than the ones that says "Product line 2" on grey boxes instead; but according to the Kia Dealer parts' store CEO, both parts are exactly the Same, the difference is that since the "Product Line 2" does not use the Kia Logo nor the related Copyrights, they can sell those parts on Half Price... Do you have such "Product Line 2" parts available in USA? ... The Box says: "Part Supplied by Mobis - Not to be used for Warranty repairs" I installed the New Fuel Filter in the Meantime... It has one inlet, one outlet, and the Return line built-in. -

Somehow, local Aftermarket stores asked Crazy prices for that Fuel Pump Assemblies, which are different from the one I needed, their prices went up to ~ L. 9,000.ºº Lempiras, our currency, which equals to ~ $ 400.ºº US Dollars, and the cheaper one was around the half of that price, but still they're different parts that does Not work on our USDM Specs second gen Sephia. In fact there are Two different Fuel Pump assemblies' designs for the second gen Kia Sephia, and according to the Local Kia Dealer's Salesman who decoded the VIN, our "KiaStein" uses the Newer style one that was also used on the Kia Spectra lineup. I bet that the Fuel Pump assemblies shown on the above posted photos, belongs to the Older style Specs. and / or belongs to the 1.6L engine models. -
Steering extension length ratio to lift block?
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Phizinza's topic in Off Road
Yes I agree with you. Let me quote a post from other thread, whose info might be Helpful here: Also the Forester ones are Longer... The total extension will depend on the tallness of the Crossmember Blocks. Kind Regards. -

Since the whole assembly was damaged like that, beyond any possible repair, frankly I consider that it was a Miracle how this car was still working, with all those loose parts and exposed wires under Gasoline; the whole assembly was about to crumble and disperse the internals inside the Gas Tank. So I decided to search for a New Fuel Pump Assembly, but the one offered by the Local Kia Dealer, and the Aftermarket units I found, only had one plug instead of three, also they lack the Float Level and the Low Level sensors; seems like the LADM (Latin American Domestic Market) specs Sephias, came like the ones for the State of California, with a 1.6L engine, instead of the 1.8L and the other two sensors comes individual in the Fuel Tank. -

I opened the Fuel Pump's Assembly to check its internal parts: And I found Cracks in the Plastic that... ...holds together the Pump and the Check Valve: Besides that, the internals were very Dirty. -

That Fuel Pump Assembly, has a Wiring Harness with Three different Plugs: ► one for the Float Level of Fuel, that sends the Readings to the Gauge. ► the other for the Low Fuel warning Light. ► the last one is the Power for the Pump itself. -

Do you Remember the Fuel Pressure Test I did some time ago? The "KiaStein" had that issue that was needing three to four Key Starts to catch up and Start, but also recently it started to feel a little anemic, needing more gas pedal to climb hills, than it used to need; so I repeated the Fuel Pressure Test. This time the Behaviour was similar to the last time, but the Maximum pressure barely reached 40 Psi, so I asked a Friend mechanic who has much more experience than me, on this Fuel injected engines. He immediately told me two interesting things: Definitely, there is a Problem with your Fuel Pump. You overlooked that the pressure goes down after shutting off the Engine. He explained that there Should be a Check Valve on the Fuel Pump Assembly, that keeps the Pressure in the system after shutting off the Engine, and that Check Valve obviously wasn't working anymore. That was my Mistake, to not think about the Check Valve the first time I did the Test. -

Lookin' for a Front Li'l Lift

I've not done anything else to the Shifter linkage yet, because the Vibrations sent to all the Floor, are only noticeable with little noise, during low RPM's in limited circumstances, such as: ► At idle when the EA82 is first started in the cool early Mornings, for the first two minutes. ► If I move the car slowly using the Engine's idle speed only; either in First Gear or Reverse; Otherwise the Vibrations aren't noticeable at all; the vibrations seems to be sent only when the Drivetrain shakes a little, which only happens with pretty Low RPM's. Beside those very short times of Vibrations on said circumstances, the car Runs and Drives almost identically to what it used to Be, when it had the Vibrations' dampening cube, instead the solid metal plate I did, but the Shifter became much more Solid, each gear goes in with more limited movement. Appreciated Fellows, I'm pleased to announce that I already found a Solution to the Hard Start Problem, our 2000 Sephia needed from three to four start key / cranks to catch up and start, now it has some days starting at the very first try, in fact it only needs short effort from the Starter Motor. I've not posted the solution before, because I really wanted to be completely Sure that this solved the issue, prior to share it here, on the Forums. Please allow me some time to Edit and Upload the photos I took, in order to explain the solution in the right way. Kind Regards. -

A few questions about brakes
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to abcus's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Nope. In fact not all people are aware that there is a Proportioning Valve in their Third Gen Subaru Leone (EA82) / Loyale; it is hiding under the Body and seems to last forever ... the one on my "BumbleBeast" has thirty years of strong, rude use, since my Wagon is used in Honduran Roads; 60% of the time on paved streets with potholes and among crazy drivers on cities & highways; and 40% offroading on mountainds during weekends. This was answered properly by DaveT: Yes, the Emergency / Parking brake goes to the front on these EA82's and after long time of use, the parts gets worn and fail, especially to seal properly. Those are the reasons why I erased the Front Parking Brake mechanism from the Calipers, and I retrofitted an Awesome Rear Parking Brake, that despite of still be pushing pistons on the Rear Calipers, it is more durable and tends to develop less fails since the rear wheels doesn't do side to side turns, forcing the angle of the actuators; and the parts to fix those rear ones, are way easier to find. Kind Regards. ► Underlined words are web links to posts with further information on the subject. -

Bent Rim. Suggestions?
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to samisunjp's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I agree with the Above Comment, but adding my Advice: Use those with the Wheel being OUTSIDE the Car, and the Tire inflated. Otherwise you'll damage the ball Bearings without noticing it immediately... Kind Regards.
