  1. That is due to this: You cut off part of the Springs! When you cut a coil spring, you loose movement because the weight of the car goues to less long coil, and the ride becomes rigid as hell, as if your subie doesnt have coil springs. That is the reason why I always adviced against cutting coil springs at all... ...the longer they are, the softer the ride will be, as they distribute weight onto a longer coil springs. https://www.hotrod.com/articles/ccrp-0303-springs-ride-quality/ Kind Regards.
  2. That setup will raise the rear of your Subie, Two inches. if you use the Accord coil springs on the original Subaru Shock Absorbers, the ride will be softer than using the Prado / 4Runner Shock Absorbers, and the Lift will be Less, if your Subie is 4WD and you use its stock 4wd shock absorbers. All the details are explained on my Writeup. I advice to not cut the coil spring as it will make the ride even stiffer. The Travel of the Toyota Prado / 4Runner shock absorber is Enough for the Subie, you'll never notice the difference, except for the stiffer ride in the back. Ford Tempo, for the standard EA82 engined Subies, they are the Maximum amount that you can safely increase the Stiffness without loosing any stability nor control of the ride; the Kia ones are too much stiffer and the idea of mention them, was for the rides with bigger engines swapped in, plus added weight in the front from winches, etc... Yes, but the Lift on the front is tiny, as the front shock absorbers have a limited travel and they almost top off with the 4 cyl. Tempo front coil springs. I suggest you to avoid the use of the 6 cyl. Tempo coil springs, as they will be too stiff. Please be Careful when you remove a Coil Spring from the Shock Absorber, as the thing is placed there using a special compression tool, otherwise it can jump on you and cause severe injuries; so please be Careful. Remember that I wrote that the Kia coil Springs are way too stiff for the regular Subie, so I suggest you to avoid using them. You're Welcome! ¡Muchas Gracias! Prefiero el ingles, debido a que la mayoria de nuestros compañeros en el foro, no hablan español. Saludos cordiales desde el Caribe, Honduras. Greetings from Honduras.

  4. Full Writeup + part numbers & photos: Kind Regards.
  5. it is pretty Easy, install Used front Honda accord (4 cyl.) coil Springs on the original Subaru Rear shock absorbers. That's it. I drove my subie like that for years, prior to switch to the 4Runner / Prado front Shock absorbers. Kind Regards.
  6. If both oil filters are equal in thread, pitch, relief valve pressure and filtering element flow numbers, Only one thing that went overlooked here, is the fact that the Smaller filter aids to raise the oil pressure faster and keeps the pressure a little higher on the system, than with a big oil filter.
  7. in order to not repeat posts, let me point you in this Direction: I shared various photos of a 1985 Safari Rally version of the Subaru Leone / Loyale \ EA82 Still New, unused: ...Also, photos of the rare "Orciari" version... ...of the Same model, here in the Legendary "Strange & Weird Subaru Stuff" Thread: ~► https://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/50983-strange-and-weird-subaru-stuff/?page=99 Kind Regards.
  8. I installed 6½" Speakers in all four doors, but to substitute the crappy 4" in the front doors, I had to install the bigger ones on the Plastic of the door cards, not directly on the door itself. Kind Regards.
  9. Exactly! Thank you for your Feedback. Also, this Photo of your Subie and Landscape: is just Wonderful, thank you for Sharing, Kind Regards.
  10. Looks like the Project is going pretty well! Greetings from Honduras.
  11. You forgot option four: Change your lug pattern to 4X114.3 which has a wide variety of wheels in the appropriate offset. I run my "BumbleBeast" modified since year 1996, see: Such is the Lug Pattern for old Accords, 240SX, RWD Corollas including AE86, Elantras, etc... Kind Regards.
  12. I've swapped Differentials on Automatics, it is somehow, Easy. The hardest part was to remove the Transmission from the car, open it to reach the diff, then reseal it and reinstall it. Kind Regards. (as usual on my posts, underlined words are web links to further information and photos about the underlined subject)
  13. May you share a photo of the Plate, even if you blur the serial number, this is for the people who don't remember that production of the EA82 started in 1984. (Subaru got the Prototype of that engine in 1982, along with the first L series Prototype. But that's another subject, sorry for the offtopicness). I really like your Subie. Just like Mine! Kind Regards.
  14. I swapped rear Honda Calipers onto my Subie's Rear Disc Brakes, Full info, here: ~►
  15. You're Welcome! in my own humble opinion, having two different fans switching on and off at different temperatures, will only get one fan working almost all the time, the one with lower temperature will take the job first, avoiding the second one from working. Also, with A/C on, mainly the other fan will take the Job. Plus such setup complicates wiring unnecessarily... adding more parts and costs, thus means more points where the system might fail. So, I kindly suggest you to wire both fans as I did, to simplify things and keep the setup closer to factory specs. Kind Regards.
  16. Awesome! I always liked the rare rear Wiper on JDM Sedans. I notice the lack of vacuum accumulator bottle, on the engine's bay.
  17. Thanks, Keep us updated on your Subie! Kind Regards.
  18. Awesome Subie! Worth Saving! Excuse me Sir, what is the Meaning of WOF? Kind Regards.
