  1. You're welcome my friend, I only try to help. In my case, I traded closet space also, but only for New parts that I store, usually NOS Subaru Parts; and certain valuable tools, such like the OBD II Scanner. Thanks God our Caribbean climate is very templated and doesn't swing, because I store the Rest on a Big Plastic storage Box, at the open garage whose roof doesnt cover the sides (I planted a -now Huge- Pine tree). Yes, I've notice a casting improvement on other engines, from the weight they have, there shall be more material put under more pressure, to make stronger parts, so you can measure the different weights of the Heads. That would be Awesome! That might help a little, the LADM (Latin American Domestic Market) Specs Subarus from that vintage, came without both catalytic converters as well. That thread @ AUSubaru is this: ~► http://www.ausubaru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15800 There is also, another thread there, where a guy even cut the heads in half to make a dissection and study the total size / amount of material between valves, water jackets, etc... and document the differences between heads. ~► http://www.ausubaru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15810 Kind Regards.
  2. I can see that the TK9 heads has an almost Flat, combustion chamber that seems to be less deeply "Carved" on the Head, while the TK8 heads has the combustion chamber, "Carved" Deeper on the Heads, also they're Not Flat, they goes even Deeper between the intake and the exhaust valves. Even if the Shape of the Piston's Heads are the same used on both Heads, there will be certain change of Compression between the engines featuring the TK8 and the TK9 heads; I bet that different pistons were used on the Different heads as well. The Logic says that 9 shall be "newer" than 8, and the lack of that deep "V" shape between the intake & exhaust valves on the TK9 head, might be intended as a reinforcement, to avoid the usual Cracks that the EA82 engine's heads tend to have, after certain use / overheatings. Kind Regards.
  3. OK, thank you for your Kind Answer. You're a Lucky guy ... Those are Rare / Scarce now. People in need for replacements will pay good money for them. I understand that Feeling... Also My Wife & Daughter doesn't want to see my Automotive stuff around our home... That is not needed for me, I believe you. However sharing pictures of them Side by Side, pointing their Differences, is a good idea, in my own humble opinion. The Non-USDM Turbo EA82's makes a little more Hp because of the less restricted Pollution / Fuel consumption controls & legal regulations, and thus might explain the difference on the Combustion Chamber, found on the European Specs EA82T Heads, compared to the US Specs ones. Kind Regards.
  4. One small question: Are you Sure that all those are MPFi? None are for the SPFi / Carb Setup? Kind Regards.
  5. Yes, it might cost the same. Other USMB members has done that Suspension Mod, Follow this links to read further information that might be Useful: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/117164-my-92-loyale-safariwagon/page-28?do=findComment&comment=1243088 ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/139543-my-l-series-from-ireland/?p=1209139 ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/130950-suspension-improvements-for-subaru-loyale/ Kind Regards,
  6. This is an Awesome Wagon, Brown in my second favourite colour after the "RadioActive Yellow" I painted mine ... ... If you're gonna use this car to move heavy equipment, as you wrote here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/152242-85-wagon-suspension-help-jeszek-loyale-27-turbo-help/ Then I kindly suggest you to do the Suspension Modifications I done, plus the Weber Carb Swap, in case your hitachi carb starts to fail... Kind Regards.
  7. Thank you for your Kind Words, which I Really appreciate. Without any Doubt, I recommend what I've done, to use the Toyota 4Runner / Land Cruiser Shock absorbers + Honda Accord Coil Springs, as I did, in fact my beloved Subaru "BumbleBeast" has many years and many thousands of thousands of miles with that Setup, and despite that the car feels a little Hard when it is unloaded, I will Never ever go back to the soft and bouncy stock suspension. Now the car handles way much better with Heavy Loads and always feels much more Sportier. Of course you'll need to change Shock Absorbers and Coil Springs. The Coil Springs are the part that matters the Most, because it is directly the part that Bears with the Load, and thus means that makes the car to be Bouncy or Hard, while the Shock Absorber only limits the vertical movement. In the Following Link, you'll find my Writeup which has the Part Numbers for everything: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/106807-improved-shock-absorbers-and-spring-coils-on-loyales/ Kind Regards.
  8. I found a simple & easy way to post here High Resolution Photos that features small size (Always less than 1000 pixels Wide) you only need a Free program named "irfanview" which allows you to resize the photos on a couple of Clicks, almost without losing resolution; so despite that I upload them often @ 800X600 pixels, they can be Zoomed up many times more than full screen, without looking pixelated. ► As usual on my posts, Underlined words are Web Links with further info on the Subject. Kind Regards.
  9. The following information was copied from the Official Facebook page: It might be useful here, for those who will like to participate. Kind Regards.
  10. Lately more and more members only point the newbies to use the Search Function, but the same time and effort could be used to write the right answer, and that is a better welcome, in my own humble opinion; beside that the seach function, is not working well with the New USMB system / software. Thank you so much for your Kind Words, which I Really appreciate. Yes, there are Threads about all that, the Popular re-drill pattern is to 6 lugs, but I chose 4X114.3 and I drive my beloved Subaru "BumbleBeast" with that redrilled pattern since 1996 without any related issues. Yes, some modifications triggers the "Avalanche Effect" where everything starts with a simple change, then you need to "Upgrade" other things, then others because the others changed, etc... The Bigger tires I recommend to use on a EA82, are 25" for Mixed City / offroad \ Highway driving; and even with them, the EA82 feels "Anemic" when compared with newer cars with similar displacement engines; that is due to many reasons, like the Heavy Body, Lower Hp output, The GearBox is intended to turn smaller tires, etc... But it does fine in every and each circumstance, with 25" ... despite that I drive in the extremely mountanious Honduras. Yes, like you. Kind Regards.
  11. Since you're seeking "Best Looking Replacement" Tail Lights for the Subaru Brat, Why don't you stuff there, "Euro Style" Clear tail lights? I've seen here in Honduras, many Brats with those clear tail lights, designed as replacement for the Toyota 22R pick Up. Yesterday I was driving behind one example, see: Sorry for the Cheap Cellphone's Photo... Kind Regards.
  12. Yes, it is much thicker & stronger indeed. The industrial shop where it was made, does such kind of parts, for Heavy Equipment. Seems like I found the Answer: "Pot Metal" ... Here: ~► http://www.ebay.com.au/gds/What-to-Look-for-When-Buying-a-Car-Thermostat-Gasket-and-Housing-/10000000178533051/g.html Kind Regards.
  13. The upper threads aren't needed on my Subie, so the new aluminium inlet pipe looks cleaner; also I don't use thermostat on that engine, since late 1985, it isn't really needed in the Caribbean climates... Which metal is the one commonly used for those inlet pipes / thermostat housings? Seems to be Black and to get rusty way easier than the rest of the cooling systems' parts; long years ago, a local mechanic told me that it was some sort of alloy... but I'll like to know which metal was used by Subaru / other makes, on this mere part. Kind Regards.
  14. So, I decided to change the Whole set of Coolant Hoses on my Subaru "BumbleBeast" and I found that the water inlet pipe, known as the thermostat housing, was covered with some kind of scales plaque, and when I tried to clean it, a chunk of metal broke off from it... This is not the first time I dealt with a broken inlet pipe, I managed to get made a brand new one for my '69 coupé, long years ago; that was made of Brass. So this time, I decided to get another one "Made in Honduras" but this time done in thick aluminium; So this is the Results: I made this Photo Collage, just for Fun:
  15. This really needed a Picture taken... Kinda remembers me the many, many times I ran out of gas... Kind Regards.
  16. Normally I would agreed with that statement, but since the "Massive" use of different social networks, the information reaches much Faster to more People, and that situation compensates the lack of enough preparing time; however I would prefer an announcement of at least two months before the Event. It is a shame that I live too far away, otherwise my "BumbleBeast" would showed there for sure... Kind Regards.
  17. The third gen EA82 heads that were posted from Europe, are designed with twin port for the "Spider" type of intake manifold. Are yours the Single port Heads for the common intake manifold? Kind Regards.
  18. Yes, those will never work. Unless you Re-drill the lug pattern in Hubs / Drums. You're Welcome. Kind Regards.
  19. Exactly! I hope that someone who has done such retrofit, will chime in here... Kind Regards.
  20. Your Subaru has a rare 4X140 lug pattern. Without modifying, you can use Peugeot 15" rims... ...if you're Lucky to find some. Kind Regards.
  21. He wants to Retrofit a Green Digital instrument cluster, on his Loyale that came factory with the standard instrument cluster; so he wants the most clear schematics he could obtain for his project. I tried to help him via private messages, but I only found a couple of threads regarding the subject, with images of the FSM... ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/119606-analog-to-digital-dash/ ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/149151-8586-gl-10-wiring-diagrampinout-request/ ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/145258-need-help-swap-analog-to-digital-dash/ ...but he really needs a diagram about how to proper do this retrofit; seems like what I provided isn't enough for him. Kind Regards.
  22. That's an Amazing Subaru for sure. I like how it looks with "Shaved Body" Kind Regards.
  23. Oh! ... you're writing about this thread ~► Here, where I posted this: No problem, I was trying to Help. Kind Regards.
