I've seen a Lot of Old cars sold by that same company, and all of them were some kind of "Rare - Low Mileage Gems" also, another USMB member purchased from them an october 1984 built, EA82 Turbo sedan with "Low Mileage" and it gave lots of problems, which are related more to Higher Mileage engines. Yes, but usually we do something in the Meanwhile... I believe that if you took the Hose from a driveable car to fix the non-driveable one, you only will be moving the problem from one car to another, without fixing anything; so I kindly suggest you to obtain the proper diameter hose, with the proper pressure ratio, and fix your car's problem. Many details are Missing, such like Model \ Year / Engine... But this: Sounds like a Vacuum Leak. Check for Vacuum Leaks around the Carburetor, by spraying carb cleaner around it at idle speed... Kind Regards.
