1988 Subaru GL10 upgrades?
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to MuddyThunder's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
BPR6EY11 are my Favourite NGK's for the EA82. Edit: Let me add a Link with further information: ~► http://ngk-sparkplugs.com/bpr6ey11-p-2217.html Kind Regards. -
Then, maybe it is the Wiring and its Plugs... Once those gets pulled a little far from they should be, usually it becomes hard to slip them back in the right Place once again, so maybe there is a Chance that the Cluster is prevented to go back in place easily, due to the presence of the Wiring behind it, which bends in there, instead of sliding back... If that is the case, you can try to push the wirings & plugs back and see if they go there easily, or if they're hitting something, you can bend their shape in order to easy things... Other thing that might being causing the issue, is the design of the cluster itself; maybe you're sliding the wrong side first... Good Luck, Kind Regards.

If it is the Blower fan, it burns the "Resistor Pack" with age... You can Rebuild it, see: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/135553-ea82-fan-power-selector-fix/ Kind Regards.

Thank you for sharing your Race Car's story. Also my Wife's car came from an Auction, with a small damage in front; you can read about that and see photos, ~► Here. Yes, I hope so... Kind Regards.

That small Hyundai Excel "Racing Car" sounds interesting... which mods have done you to it, to make it a Race Car? Another Weekend faded away without finding those Rare & Scarce Wheels... So I started dealing online with a Guy in Texas, USA, found on Craigslist ... ... He wrecked his 240SX and is selling it in parts, I hope I could obtain the wheels, Cheap enough to let me afford the Shipping & import costs from USA to Honduras.

1988 Subaru GL10 upgrades?
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to MuddyThunder's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
You don't need "BackPressure" at all on those EA82's You need a Proper "Y" joint for meeting both exhaust ports together, in order to obtain the proper Scavenging effect, that is needed. I did a Full 2" Exhaust with Great Results since year 1993, see: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/122276-the-bumble-beast/page-2?do=findComment&comment=1115726 Kind Regards. -

Nope! That is Not the infamous Phrase here, on the old gens Forums. The infamous phrase is: "Do an EJ Swap" or simply "EJ it!" Referring to retrofitting a Legacy / impreza \ Forester engine... If you install a Bigger Turbo on an Old EA82T engine, It will Blow... in pieces ...Faster. Kind Regards. -

...or Gasoline in the... Tank! ...where did they fitted the Tank on that thing? -
Well, I know this is off-topic, but you might tried to fix that Camera... I still use my HP 837 Camera, which I own since year 2007, whose battery is held in place by a Zip tie, and a couple of mini Screws inserted into the Plastic body, to prevent the Zip tie from slip... ...That camera has an Awesome "Macro" mode which has helped me thru the Years to complete my Writeups with Great photos; but recently, I obtained a Sony DSC-H90 camera, mainly for shooting 720p HD videos for my YouTube Channel. Back on your '94 Subaru Loyale, let me tell you that it looks Great with those wheels, only needs better quality photos Kind Regards.

May I kindly, write a suggestion here? Use a better Camera for the Photos! A bad picture downplays your work... I'm not being disrespectful. Kind Regards.

Ugly but interesting. Why don't you save this one from the Scrapyard? It could be a great barnyard vehicle for limited use, And a Good Conversation Starter for sure... Kind Regards. -

That's a pretty interesting front engine conversion on a VolksWagen Bug, It worth a mention on the Legendary "Strange & Weird Subaru Stuff" thread. Kind Regards. -
The EGR subject on the EA82 engine, could be like open a Can of Worms, but the fact is that you might need to have the EGR in good working conditions to pass emissions test; otherwise I suggest to you Erase it from the engine, by Removing the Vacuum operated valve and closing the Passages; because the EGR design on the EA82 is pretty unhealthy for the engine, affecting one cylinder the most... The Newest designed Heads for the EA82, which were the Third Gen Heads, came from factory without EGR passage. You can see photos of those three gens of EA82 Heads, ~► Here. Kind Regards.
