Here you can see one of the Old C.V. Joints, next to one of the New ones: This is How the Two Axles looked like, prior to mount them: I've been driving the "KiaStein" since I finished the axle job this afternoon, Testing the Axles while doing half dozen errands; and thanks to God, everything seems to be working smooth as Silk. -

So, I went to search for the 24 / 24 Bar, carrying the odd 24 / 22 Bar with me, and I found it: Now I only need to re-assemble everything back together. -

Despite that one side's C.V. Joint had an inner spline count of 22 with thinner diameter, and the other C.V. Joint had an inner spline count of 24 with thicker diameter; Both C.V. Joints has the Same size and Spline Count on their Outer shaft, that goes to the wheel hub. That is the Reason why I only needed the 24 / 24 Bar to solve the problem of having different C.V. Joints on each wheel, in order to use the same C.V. Joint on Both sides. Kind Regards. Edited to highlight the important words -

Definitely, I'm Lost in Translation once again... But as far as I could understand, the Hub Swap is not needed. Both hubs are identical, both axle's outer measurements are equal. Kind Regards. -

Pandora's Box once again! Now, I am Really Upset with this "Money Pit" Kia, specifically with what the previous owner did to it, let me explain: I took off first the Driver's side Axle, and I went with it to search at dozens of aftermarket parts' stores, and finally, after all the afternoon driving on traffic jams and going from one place to another, I purchased a couple of axles with 24 Splines, absolutely identical to the one I took with me as Sample. Also I obtained New inner boots ... then I went home, and immediately I started to clean the old axle's shaft bar, the inner joint, etc... then reassembled that driver's side first. The problem was on the Passenger's side Axle: After I disassembled everything, I noticed that despite that the C.V. joint looked identical on its outside shape, its inner spline count was only 22 instead of 24, also the overall diameter of the splined bar was around a couple of milimeters smaller. I've disassembled axles on more than a hundred cars during all this years, and I found that every and each one uses the same spline count on the Left and the Right Wheels. So, How the heck could this be happening? I Removed that axle's shaft bar, in order to do a closer, detailed inspection, and I found that despite that the outer (wheel) side of the bar's spline count is 22, the inner (Transmission) side of the bar has the same, thicker spline count of 24, like the other side's wheel's axle. The other wheel's side axle has 24 spline count on each side of the Bar. I bet that the Previous Owner and / or the mechanic who "Fixed" it prior to send the car to Honduras from USA, changed that Axle only; using another one from another Sephia Model ... First Gen Sephia, or Rio Perhaps? Now I am Really Tired ... tomorrow I will go to local junk yards to search for a 46.5 cms long Bar, with 24 spline count on EACH side, to solve this problem. Once again, wish me Luck! ... Please. Kind Regards. -

Yes "O.E." is a wrong name, they're trying to fool us, as if those were Original Equipment. Thank you so much for your kind offer, I really appreciate your will to help me... However Shipping & Handling from USA to Honduras is not cheap nor easy, So I will ask parts from USA for things that can't be sourced locally only. Kind Regards. -

The Axles' clicking noise became so hard, especially on the Passenger's side one, that I bet that the axle was about to collapse... so I decided to remove 'em today, I started early morning and I'm about to finish the Removal Procedures on both sides... Then, with one axle on my hand, (Because there are two versions for the Sephia), I'll search for the Best aftermarket or Junk Yard axle I could find... Wish me Good Luck! Kind Regards. -

The Cheapo, Bad Quality chinese axles "OE" brand, are available as cheap as Lps. 800.ºº Lempiras, our currency, which equals ~ to $ 40.ºº US Dollars each, but those are a complete waste of effort, time and money, because those are as bad as coming clickin' right out from the Box. I've tried those lousy axles on my Subaru and they are the crappiest axles I've tried in all my life. Those doesn't last three months, even using the Very Best Axle Grease available on the world. -

Also, the local Kia stealership asks the equivalent of US $ 70.ºº Dollars in our currency, for each "inner" rubber boot which can't be sourced among the local aftermarket stores, nor foreign aftermarket stores such like Napa because they have the wrong part on their database; since the inner boots on this automatic Kia, has three lumps on the inner side of its bigger opening, which matches the shaft's base, and the ones that are available here, has a completely round circle ... ... those are for the Manual transmission version. ► UPDATE: I resolved this issue, more info, ~► Here. Kind Regards. -

♪ Axle's Blues ♫ My Wife's car, the "KiaStein" started some months ago to have clickin' noisy axles, so I went today to the local Kia stealership to ask how much cost each axle, brand new, since the original ones have already reached beyond 170K + miles and more than 15 years. I wanted same quality replacements. They asked the equivalent to US $ 900.ºº Dollars for each axle... ...there will never be any emoticon that can show how disapointed am I now. Time to dig on the local junk yards, maybe? Kind Regards. -

Yes, somehow I Agree... After I wrote that post above, I realized that takin' my laptop with me, along the cables and thinking that some days the weather is rainy, could be a bad idea, especially for helping for free... so maybe I will search for a Handheld option now. But since I am in "Low Budget Mode" the relation between Price and Usefulness will take my decision for sure. Which one of the Handheld options is your Favourite and Why?- 36 replies

Thank you. Since I am in "Low Budget Mode" I will start obtaining a Good "Generic" Scan Tool. Which one is Best, the Hand Held version, or the USB / Software combo for my Laptop? Somehow I think that would prefer to use my Laptop, because I believe that the Software could be Upgraded easier... Please let me know the Pros / Cons of those options, and which one you Prefer, and why. Kind Regards.- 36 replies
