  1. I have a 97 OBW 180K. I swapped in a 2.2. When I got the car there was no refrigerant in the AC system. I went to recharge this AM because I am selling this weekend but the clutch will not turn on. Is there a way to get the clutch to turn on by jumping it? If so can you please explain? Or a way to tell of the AC compressor is shot?
  2. For as long as I live, I may never understand why someone would spend 1900 dollars on a 10 year old car that needs a new engine. I may have to contact the buyer to figure this mystery out.
  3. Thanks.... Right on the money with that hole, I stuck a screw driver in and was able to move it out of gear.
  4. At the base of my key (all I have left) is a 4 digit number. Is that my code and can a local locksmith make it?
  5. What a great day.. I have a 97 OBW 180K. The key snapped in the ignition. Now the bad.. That was my only key. How am I going to have it towed if I can't get out of gear? I guess I could pull the cable from the gear selector underneath the car.
  6. His reserve is 1800, I allready sent him an email letting him know he was out of his mind and reminded him this was Ebay not some used car lot.
  7. My guess. Since the pictures is so graphic that he posted he will not get 1700, it will shy away those that think you can add a bottle of stop leak. The bottom line is it will cost a G to get that back on the road. Its only worth 500 to 650
  8. If you looking to make a few bucks this is not it. Windshield is 250.00 installed. E-brake, if you need the shoes your 70.00. I have you over 300.00 and you not done yet.
  9. Thats the block thats busted. WOW. 1900 is way to high, but I have seen them go from 400 to 2000 on Ebay. It is my guess that someone who does not know better thinks the fix is a "stop leak treatment" or a new themrostat. To bad they have no idea whats in store after dropping 2 G's
  10. You have until tonight or I am calling offering 400.00. Can I have the # please
  11. Ok, I rocked it out with a swivel head wrench. I had to get underneath the car and feel my way to the back bolt of the rocker cover. I replaced every gasket on the cover. 90 minutes. Now we shall see if that stopped the mother of all leaks. I must add, the gasket was dry rotted. I was a little surprised since its only a 2000 with 130K.
  12. You sure its not the liscense plate holder or a loose plastic bung that holds it vibrating.
  13. If you see a Legacy post 95 with a 2.5 be VERY VERY carefull that it does not have a busted headgasket. Take it for a good 30 to 40 minute drive and get the temp up. Make sure nothing overheats.
  14. What do I have to remove to get the driver side rocker cover off on a 00 OBW. I removed the battery and I can get to most of it, any tricks here for the bolts in the rear?
  15. We should have a sound clip that we could attach to every one of these posts, it would be the "Imperial Death March" for the 2.5. Sorry, you have a busted HG. I would suggest the Suabru Coolant conditioner "Blue Bottle" ASAP. You might be able to save it....... for a year or 2.
  16. The timing belt blew but the engine is still be OK. I would offer 600 if you are going to do the work yourself. Add the cost of the tow as a reason for moving the price down as well
  17. Use the "Blue Bottle" conditioner in your 2.2. I do. As far as the coolant, I use the prestone yellow stuff.
  18. We have been using the ethanol mix for a few years now. No problems. Let me assure you its no miracle sauce. I have never seen a difference between the old and the new.
  19. I hear ya, the knock sensor is done 78 bucks at NAPA. I am NOT doing the cats. The next thing is the driver side rocker cover gasket. Then I move onto the front O2 Sensor.
