  1. OK, I opened up the fuse relay box under the hood and located the AC Main Fan Relay 1. There are 4 wires. R/Blue Y/G W/Blue and White. I tried to locate them in the ECU bundle of wires with no luck.
  2. Ohhhh,,, your looking at a dealer who has this car. The question is what did the dealer pay. I would think around 1,200. With that said i am lowering my price to 2,200 and thats with a 7 day / 500 mile warrenty. Watch out for that busted HG
  3. First here on USMB we do not pay KBB and i am sure thats what they want or around that price. Any car with almost 200K could have any problem at any time. At most I would pay 3K
  4. Here is my deal now. The pins from the diagram are not lining up with the colors noted by your entry and other entrys in the service manual. hmmmm what to do. I looked everywhere for numbers, nothing
  5. OK, which connecter. I took a pick. The factory manual says its a blue connector. Is the ECU connector or that one in the upper right.
  6. Ok, so do I strip the wire going into the ECU and touch it to the frame. Or can I pull it from the plastic connector?
  7. 1) I replaced every relay in the engine compartment fuse box from my work subaru, the fans will still not come on. 2) Checked all the fuses 3) to make sur ethe box was gettig power I pulled the fuse for the hazards while they were on and they went off. 4) I jumpered the fans straight to the battery, they work Why won't my fans come on......
  8. When I turn on the AC the fans do not come on. The AC is not working as well just warm air and I do not see the AC clutch turn on. Sounds like a relay. Not sure how to jumper though
  9. Just picked up a 97 OBW w/ 180K the issue was overheating. Before I confirm the HG issue I did a visual and noticed the fans on the radiator are not spinning at all even at temp. What test can I do to see if they come on manually. Thanks
  10. Yes, Yes, Yes. I broke a bolt when removing the front caliper, bolt was 3 bucks AND then I had to buy the mounting bracket 100.00 since the bolt was rust welded in. Cost we me a week without the sub. USE PB Blaster you can get it at Walmart. I wish I knew back then
  11. You need to loosen the parking brake and remove the caliper. I have a 3 pound ruber malet that works wonders after 5 full blows or so
  12. I am glad everyone is OK. Now I am going to ask, how much for the 2.2? Should could live on.....
  13. You really want that car. Sometimes you have to let her go. To bad you don't leave in PA, there are a several listed at any one time on Ebay.
  14. Here is the deal, I put her in park on the driveway with the AC on. I opened the hood and here is what I saw. The 2 front fans on along with the AC compressor. What I did notice was this, my altanator belt is spinning just fine. My AC compressor belt is bouncing and jumping around. This may be my problem.......
  15. I put the belts on tight, no method to that madness. The AC system was open for a week before I swapped it out and completed the job. I just filled her up I did not do a evac.
  16. A timeless question. Since I swapped out my AC compressor it will not blow cold air when I am just idling. When I am cruising down the highway its the artic blast. I filled it myself with the stuff off the shelf at Walmart. What is my problem?
  17. A dealer is going to want at least 5K ( ebay 3K). I would not purchase a Subaru with the 2.5 from a used car dealer that had over 130K. UNLESS some conditions are made. You want a 7 day 1000 mile warenty for any head gasket issues (overheating). Someone just got burned about a month ago on here.
  18. I purchased the additive from a dodge dealship. But I never used it, I had my tires rotated and balanced to fix the issue (Thanks Nipper)
  19. The car with the 2.5 blown HG has 200K. It was not over heated for long. I can get a 2.2 150K for under 400.00. I figure I can sell the 2.5 motor with busted HG for 300.00. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
  20. Question.... What is the difficulty level for doing the HG myself on a 2.5. I have done the swap (2.5 to 2.2) and that was not that bad. I need an idea of money and time for changing out the HG. Do I need to pull the engine to do the HG (does thet make it easier). What would you do.................
  21. If its test positive for HC's its a head gasket. No if's and's or but's. Trust us, the ONLY way she will get her asking price is if she drops the head gasket problem from the description. Otherwise its just scrap metal sitting on her drive way. You should send her a link to this page and that ebay auction. Sometimes the truth is hard to swallow without some proof.
