i bought my 88 gl sedan back in november of 05'. at that time i was driving my 73 f-100. by all means i am all about old american muscle and old pick ups. i have owned a few imports. now i like the two hondas i had but they were 78 civics. i loved they way they looked not so much with the timing belts once i broke one i kept up with the replacment so i would not have that problem again. but over time i did not want the hassle. now i am not saying that honda are ***************in or anything like that. but paying 800 for both car together it was a hell of a deal. well when the price of gas spiked last year due to the hurricane season(i live in florida), the reasons for buying another 4 banger was all to appearnt. well shopping for cars could not find much for the money i had(1,000). well my dad told me about this blue car for sale. but he said it has alot of miles on it. i said ok even after found out it was over 300,000. (dad bought a 84 caddy with 68,000 original miles on it) he told me it seems real nice other than the miles. so with some reservations i went 2 hours west of jax to look at it. looked at it and told the guy i wanted week to think about it. he agreed when i flash 4 grants (or 200 bucks) to hold for the week. went back the next weekend and test drove it. i was happy with the car and how well it drove(like a car with lass then 100,000) so i bought it. went back the next week and brought her to her new home. well after i got it home i started to llok for any info i could find on it. at first nothing. then more i looked bam(found cardomain and this site) both of which helped find other like mine. well i am now addicted my new subie. i love it. i still love v-8 grunt horsepower. but nnot so much the 3 bucks a gallon for gas. now i know that this genration of subies( 80's) common in some places. like out west and north also north west. so here is my problem/plus. problem hard to find subies in junkyards here in fl. or on the road. seen very few at all running or not. plus my mileage is great. moral of the story i like subies like mine. then you very lucky to find any like mine in the south. so any of you 80's subies here in the great state of florida i am here to help represent subies in any way i can down here. i have changed my dash li8ghts from the light green to red. if you find an analog dash there are four lights for the backlighting of the dash. you can buy color bulbs from advanced auto parts made by victor they are lik 1.98 for two i bought 8 of them 4 blue and 4 red. you can see my analog dash on www.cardomain.com under subaru gl. my screen name is dragonsteel. it is a blue 88 gl sedan. the background for my webpage is the dash at speed on the highway. and if look on the second page i have pics there you can enlarge to see them better. i hope i helped get back to me tell me what you think. welcome to the subie addiction. check out thread called 88 gl fwd exhaust mod. that may give an idea of one thing you can do i am in the process of coming up with something close to that but a two into one set up. but with a magnaflow instead of a cherrybomb or glass pack muffler. i also have 88 gl sedan. got last november. i have been driving pretty much trouble free. the car has 308,933 as of today when i pulled in the driveway coming home from work. i have some pics in the photo section. also even more pics on www.cardomain.com look under subaru gl my screen name is dragonsteel. take a look and tell me what you think. i have more pics coming tonight or tomorrow. i hope i was at least some what helpful. thanks Ken:burnout:

man that is sweet i wish i could hear it. that is close but leaning more towards a single exhaust exit from the back or the car more like the wrx. but still not sure exactally what yet i am going to my car up on jack stands and get pics from front to back and then try to design my own. but what you have from the y cut out is just what i am looking for would like to see more. and would love to hear that. thank you for your time. i am looking to cut out the y-pipe cat and go a two into one then back to high flow cat then a magnaflow muffler. any ideas or current mods you have on a car like mine would be a great help. i know what i am going to do from the y-pipe back just wondering if anyone has cut there y pipe out and put something other than another cat. thank you Ken. btw i am the wrong part of the country for this damn car lol.

this goes out to any jacksonville, fl. and surrounding areas i am looking to see who i can find in this area of the country. cause it seems to me that most of the subies i find are up north and out west. so any of yall arond here let me know drop me a line.
