  1. i did searching on the reason why the starter will not work when i turn the key and i saw a few posts that talk about a starter relay. i looked on the wagon for it and did not see it can someone tell me where i might locate this and if the 90 loyale even has one. i leaning towards the connection spade on the starter/solenoid as the problem and i am going to replace that now. but i want to cover all my basis and see about checking for that as well. i turn the key and it clicks but does not turn over. battery good, starter good. so i figure either bad solenoid connection or possible relay:rolleyes:. if anyone give a a place took look to find the starter relay. thank you.
  2. are you use stock gauge? i had that problem with my 88 sedan. i pulled the engine and resealed it new oil pump and water pump. and it still would read the same way. so i installed an aftermarket gauge. so now it goes way upon start up once it warms up it drops to around 5 psi. and moves with throttle position now. hope this helps you some.
  3. i agree with hatchsub. clean those threads and clean clean clean. as many old cars i have worked on more non subarus than subarus. hey i got started late in the subaru game:rolleyes:. cleaning threads and surfaces is the best you can do to insure that everything well set right and that you can tighten bolts all the way with out trash causing problems. i have not had issue with fel pro but i am sure oem is better. at least from the subaru point of veiw. i have good thing about the oem stuff.
  4. hello, in 2007 i bought 2005 baja. it had the bridgestone potenzas on it and they were worn out. so a month later bought four toyo versado h rated 60,000 mile tire. they are wonderful quiet tire. i had 25,000 miles on the car when i put them on. it is up to 61,000 miles on it now and they wearing well. about half way or a little more. i have driven from jacksonville fl to atlanta ga many times they ride well. even under a load. they perform well. the tread is no to aggresive but still seem to have good grip. in the wet and sand as well. hope that helps you. when it comes time for new tires i hope they are still selling these. i will buy them again. as for winter driving and snow i have no clue has not snowed in florida since 1989.....lol Ken
  5. i need 8 of them. four for each car. i was working on the wagon this past weekend and found one burnt and twisted back together. so i check my sedan as well all are except one lookd good but all are crusty and need replacement.
  6. woohoo. i am not the only board member in florida. unless everyone moved..
  7. damn another subaru south of the mason dixon line. welcome to the board.
  8. i did. for the first six months i owned my sedan. then it started working again. my guess in my case was a loose wire. cause when i rewired the front speaker for the new cd player it started working. i may have by accident fixed it when i pulled new speaker wire. non common ground through the door harness. either i covered a bare wire or somehow got the loose wire tight to connection now. been 3 or more years and still works. hope this helps. Anyone else ever had this issue? -Tom
  9. well last weekend. got new belts and tensioners on the wagon. spent the day waiting for a friend to bring timing light and air compressor. he forgot both. then we proceded to time the wagon using zero degree, and not said "three marks" you know i dont remember seeing those as many times i turn the crank pulley watching the flywheel. i think i might have been blind to that. after readin the haynes manual one to many times. i am blaming haynes yeah it is their fault.. only to find fusible link the black one burnt and then twisted back together. "previuos owners". this weekend. put starter in. circuit breakers instead of fusible links. then pull disty. set it to #1 cylinder. then set flywheel to center of three marks"which i have not found" put belt one on. turn 360 degrees belt two. turn again. check. turn again check. then turn to 0 degrees and install disty. dear god i hope i got that right:lol:. feel free to stop me at anytime. tell me if that is wrong. i know it is.....lmao.
  10. thank you i will check into curcuit breakers. damn good idea.
  11. i have done research on these parts. my question would be has anyone found them online recently. i have look under two search engines and found that most of the online retailers are sold out and no idea when or if they will get more. i called the dealer:eek::horse:dont ask if you dont already know the price........lol....... i mean really how much? i need eight of them. so i am looking $80 plus for what i need. i asked if they could tell me the amperage of each color. their response was well we would have to call the warehouse and see if they would be willing to check and see if they could find out. i mean hello you are the dealer...... anyways after less time i spent on hold for the dealer i got the amperage info i needed on here. got to love the USMB!
  12. i happened across this looking for amperage of these wires. after calling the dealer since i could not find them in the parts store. i about lost it. ten bucks for three and eight for the other. i know this is an old post. if i cant get any from a junkyard here in florida would you be willing to sell me two each if you still have them. and if so how much?
  13. perfect! you guys come through yet again thank you. i thought there would be two runners for each head. those are hard to come by here in florida. been there done that with the F100's . again thank you!!!!
  14. Hello all. i just recently bought a 90 subaru loyale. From what i can tell it is a SPFI. but i would like to see ea 82 with MPFI. just so i know for sure. i bought the loyale wagon for parts and just want to make sure i can use IAC, TPS and so on. needs timing belt, all parts came with car. 3spd auto fwd with eletronic over drive does not work( ill get to that later) basically i need to know if my hunch is correct does anyone have a good pic so i can see the difference between SPFI and MPFI.:-\ hope that is enough info to answer my question. being in florida and not having a lot of time around these cars i look at it and looks the same but also i have not seen a MPFI before. used to old american trucks and cars. bought one gl sedan and now i have four subaru's. 86 gl wagon, 88 gl sedan, 90 loyale wagon, 05 baja turbo. i wish i would have know before that would get to be such an addiction. would have planned for more room for more subaru's . Thank you for any help the board members can give.
  15. Is there gonna be or has a date been set for the Dragon? I was unable to find anything under seach. The reason i ask is i need to request days off. Thank you. Ken:rolleyes:
  16. my jaw hit the floor when i saw it. i was like wait why does this look like i have seen this before. i just figured they used a board members yard to film the end. just about any of us has a yard that looks like that. i must say it was nice to see. now i can say that it is normal to have old ea 81 ea 82. they may not run. but they live on by one part at a time. but in someway i think SOA is paying tribute to the USMB. seems like they are in someway showing what owning a subaru will do to you. kinda of like a warning label. if you buy a subaru this could happen to you!!!!!!!!!! and also after much thought i realized i went from one blue oval vehicle to another. from ford to subaru. i do still own one ford truck though. cant see myself parting with it.
  17. if these get sent to the states to be sold i may have to convert over.
