same can be said for here in jax fl. i have had my soob for almost 2 years and i can count on one hand how many other soob like mine i have seen. but none were gl sedans. i have seen three wagons and one dl sedan. cant seem to find in the junkyards either.

here are two pics of the back of my dash. the four light plugs circled are the ones you need to use to change colors in the back light of your dash. the other pic has two yellow circles they are for turn signals. the red circles are the back lighting, they turn less than a 1/4 of a turn. if you use leds and they dont light up after install, the simply turn the light housing 180 degrees and then reinstall them. sorry this took so long but i have moved for second time in a year :-\ so been really busy. any questions please feel free to hit me up.

if they look like this i would love to make a full set. i have the four on the car but no spare like it. just the standard steelies.

you will need 4 l.e.d.s. on the back side of the dash there are 4 parts that twist out each holding a bulb. two are the color brown and two are black. i am including a web site that yo be able to find what l.e.d.s you would like just remeber they are 194 bulbs. www.superbrightleds.com flat or inverted tips will broadcast the light in all directions. standard tips will work more like a flashlight. i hope this helps. check my member photo's for how the dash looks with different colors. and www.cardomain.com. look under subaru gl and look for name dragonsteel. that is my car check out the change from nov. of 05 till now plus it shows more dash lights.

ok i reseal the entire motor. new oil pump. did the sea foam deal about two months ago. which made the ticking worse. so i resealed and added a new oil pump and water pump and rad themostat, hoses and all that good stuff. but the tick is still there. the funny thing is that it comes and goes hot or cold. for instance. cold start up no tick then after about 2or 3 minutes. it will tick till it is warmed up. but when i am on the road to work i can hear one start ticking and then another. till seems like they are all ticking then it goes away. and it also ticks after i go in to get a bite to eat say for an hour and as soon as i start it ticks but goes away quickly. i am at a lose for words and idea at this moment. i have good oil pressure new aftermakert gauge. along with all the other stuff i mentioned. oh by the way she has 320,457 on the clock. should i replace pcv valve and hoses i noticed that those hoses are hard as a rock. and i replaced the pcv valve. but not the hoses. and i picked up the fitting for pcv valve so i dont have the small hose need to put that on as well. i did notice some build up in the hoses. any help would be great. and yes before you ask i did do a search but was able to find the info i am looking for, thank you for any help you can give

i have leds in my dash. i have had red amber and blue. the next color i am going to try is uv or black light. i have some pics you can look at in profile photos. i got mine from a web site pm me if intersted in the site. as for your question on the dimmer it works fine with leds no problem. 2. i changed all the dash bulbs that back light. 3. my bulbs are all 194 for dash backlighting. 4. i have not used white yet. but i can tell you blue light makes it hard to see the needles at night. and red looks great but seems to be to much over a long peroid of time. amber looks really nice. i do not like the stock green color. just make sure to get the l.e.d.s. with the flat tip because they are a wide angel lens. if not then you end up with just small areas lite up when all of the dah should light up. one more thing right now i am running blue and red l.e.d.s. in my dash. blue on the outside. so gauges for gas, voltage, oil pressure, and water temp area is blue and fades in to red for the tach and speedo. i dont have a pic of that yet give me a couple of days i will get that up on the site. i hope this helps you

Premium Battery Cables????
dragonfire replied to chef_tim's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
napa here in northeast florida sucks as well even with a warehouse here in town. they are just to overpriced and lack of inventory. even for stuff for my 73 ford f-100. and that is a common truck. a$$h***'s just my 2 cent on napa but as for a battery, i have an optima red top in my gl and no problems yet and i have used and abused it well. best battery for the money i think. -

ford fuel pump part number for ea 82
dragonfire replied to dragonfire's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
you know i wonder some people sleep at night i just got back from the junkyard. you belive they want 40 bucks for a fuel pump. wtf!!!! i dont get it. i cant test and the two cars they have one was sunk up to the windows. and the other was hit on the passenger side right by the pump. i guess that is why my favorite junk yard is out of subarus. now this yard said they would sell it to me for 15 cause i cant test it. and if it did not work they would give my money back, but the other said they would give me a warranty but if did not work i could only get yard credit and not my money back.WTF!!!! OH WELL i guess i might have to hit you up GD on that pump. how much do think to shipto 32218. sorry more ranting. -
ford fuel pump part number for ea 82
dragonfire replied to dragonfire's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
as far as i can see there is no difference on the pump type in the three engine types that they showfor ford. 6cyl. as well as both 8cyl. that is on advance web site and parts bin as well. now that is for a 1990 ford f-150 did not look under the f-250 or larger though. but there are two pumps one in tank the other in line. that is what i have found. so far -

ford fuel pump part number for ea 82
dragonfire posted a topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
ok after two hours of searching found that there is a possible ford fuel pump swap for ea82. my dampner on the fuel pump is leaking. few drips at first but now it leaking even more. my question is can somebody send me a link to the ford part number for the pump. i know it must have been there but i did not see it. or a link to the thread with that info. i also seen something on taking off the dampner. i think the wagon i have been pulling parts off at the j/y of may still have the pump on it. i hope so keep me rollin in cheap mpg. if not i am going to be driving the big block ford to work. ouch!!!!! thanks again. question for you loyale owners?
dragonfire replied to dragonfire's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
ok loyale seat rails lock on both sides and gl seat rails lock only on one side. so if anyone wants to do seat swap with larger seats than gl than they need loyale seat rails. i think cause of the weight of the seat makes a differance. because when i put the leagcy seats in the moved on the non locking side of the gl seat rails. so i hope this is helpful in the future. that is my two cents. maybe this can be used in the retrofitting forum for future use. maybe i should have put it there to begin with. uhh duh. :-\ -
question for you loyale owners?
dragonfire replied to dragonfire's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
hmm i wonder if there is a year that subaru made the seat rails double locking? thanks for the info though:headbang: -
would any of the loyale owner be able to tell me if the seat rails lock on both sides or not. or maybe a pic. the reason i ask is upon installing legacy seats in my gl i found that the gl seat rails only lock on one side. so i am hoping the loyale seat rails lock on both sides so i can install my new seats. i tried a few junkyards around town but no loyale jusy a two gls. thank you for your help.
