  1. This adapter works the other way, it allows the use of an EJ engine on a EA gearbox.
  2. No better colour than Sprite Green! Looking forward to updates.
  3. Ahh... Frameless windows! It WAS what made a Subaru a Subaru. Miss them, wish they would come back.
  4. Nitpicking SnatchedHatch... You say that overall Subarus sales figures are low? Where exactly? You're right on the small ute idea though, check out the Hyundai Santa Cruz. I find all this conjecture on the BRZ fascinating but Subaru never wanted to build it in the first place. Only 1 in 10 built are BRZs anyway, if it has a future it is because Toyota wants it to have one not Subaru. on another note, with Subaru selling 500,000 of their current models in the USA I doubt they will take many risks in new product. Think, 'if it ain't broke..." Such a shame too, chasing the USA market has meant Subaru has lost a lot of their uniqueness and IMHO, character.
  5. If the studs are not actually stuck the simplest way to remove them is by treading two nuts onto the stud, tighten the nuts together so they are 'locked' and then with a wrench use the locked together nuts to unscrew the stud.
  6. This one for Gen 1 Subarus: https://niceproducts.com.au/product/nid1601-ignition-barrel-doors/
  7. This one if you want door looks too: https://niceproducts.com.au/product/nid1600-ignition-barrel-doors/

  9. Looks to be PO creativity to me. It does not match the genuine 'short' stripe which starts behind the door and a genuine 'long' stripe would end near the mirror not continue to the front guard.
  10. If it is equipped with A/C you should turn this on too. A/C acts as a dehumidifier which means the windscreen will clear in no time.
  11. There are a few threads on this but the following is a good start (page 2 in particular): http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/119865-weber-air-cleaner-alternative/
  12. NOS means New Old Stock. Basically original Subaru parts and/or equipment that was never sold 'back in the day' and is therefore still brand new (although often very dusty from sitting on a shelf!).
  13. I disagree about the frameless doors being an issue in terms of safety. Most Subarus after 2000 where '5 star' in crash testing and were still fitted with frameless doors. Subaru changed to framed doors to allow for much bigger door openings and to make sure the doors shut with a 'thunk' sound... Much harder to make a car sound like it is 'quality' with frameless glass 'flapping' about... As an example, the boron steel used in the B pillars of Impreza models from late 2000 was so strong that the 'jaws of life' equipment used by emergency personnel (in Australia) needed to be re-designed to cope.
  14. Yes very tall! Especially considering no FWD dual range transmission exists! To the OP, the only Subaru transmissions that are dual range are either 4WD or AWD. While anything is possible, running a 4WD/AWD transmission permanently in FWD would mean you have to plug the transmission output shaft (basically so the oil stays in the transmission!) and while it has been done by people as a 'stop gap', not sure it would work long term.
  15. Come on Willy, did you deliberately time the photo to catch Liberty or Outback in the background?
  16. The Impreza has high tensile steel, which unlike earlier models, means the body is lighter and stronger. As others have already stated, if you do have a major crash you would have a better chance of survival in an Impreza over earlier models and that is just regarding secondary safety in a crash. The Impreza will also have better primary safety in terms of braking and handling performance, making it easier to avoid a crash in the first place.
  17. Moosens has made a very valid point about later parts potentially being the better sellers.
  18. Nice collection Gopher! Please let us see your 4wd wagon too. Better pictures would be good too! If you join an image hosting site like Photobucket or something similar you can put up much better pics.
  19. Are you shipping? PayPal? 684130030 1974 coupe front turn signal lamp $25 How much to Ohio 45424?
  20. The sound is much better with a stock retro-fitted air cleaner assembly, the Weber is OK for a while but far too much induction noise (and fumes!).
  21. Interesting way to put it... But I think the fact the space saver rims were speed limited and for temporary use according to Subaru DOES document their strength!
  22. Yes 505, just make sure they're the 15 inch versions and not the TRX 390mm metric.
  23. This seems to not be such an issue on RHD models, at least none of mine have this issue. Clutch cables snapping at unexpected moments, yes(!) but not cracking in the pedal box. Of course our RHD models have much shorter clutch cables and no cable hanger, this must place more stress on the pedal box.
  24. Offset I am not sure about but I ran 15×6 Peugeot rims on my 1978 wagon without issue. With the correct size tyres they fit within the guards too. 15×7 would need carefull measuring to get the offset right but should be possible.
