  1. this was what i had been told. want to find a lower mileage 95 motor close to here (had a wrecked one w/ 105k on it but i fixed it instead of parting it). i will search, read and ask questions once i find one. i really think this motor is gone
  2. any guidelines for what year motor to pursue? can a motor from a pre-1995 work? there is a guy selling a 91 w/ 2.2 but i don't know if it would be compatible

  4. 234k he included the old coil pack and a couple other parts i didn't look too closely at.
  5. upon further review: smoke is unburned fuel...too rich unplugging #1 wire from coil has no impact. others change idle when unplugged at temp light seems to stay on for 15-20 seconds but goes out
  6. i'm picking this up tomorrow and wanted some feedback on possible causes. PO states the car just shut off one day. no loud noises, overheating or anything it just turned off. he had it towed home and was able to start it when cold but it now runs very rough. he replaced the coil pack, and "a bunch of sensors" but it didn't clear it up so he bought another car. smoking a bit out the back but not terrible (oil smoke) and no pressure in the coolant bottle. any thoughts? thanks in advance G

  8. hello, i just bought a '95 Legacy wagon and the driver seat is not good. there are some '00 Impreza RS seats near me and i was wondering if that is a direct swap, or even possible. also, if anyone know of any other possible solutions. thanks in advance g
  9. my 1993 impreza owner's manual lists the fuel tank capacity as 15.9 US gal (13.2 imperial gal) but that aint what the pump be sayin'
  10. i poted this last week. my recently purchased '93 impreza also takes 8-9 gals to fill up when near empty and is getting around 20 mpg. are we driving the same car???? are we absolutely cetain that no configuration was available with the optional 10 gal fuel tank and piss-poor gas mileage?
  11. thanks. i was going to carry some gas and try to run it until it ran out but my woman is using the car and i would need to exchange cars with her to do it:eek: . no 8 gallon tanks though as far as you guys know? regards, gregg
  12. hello, the owner's manual claims that the fuel tank is 15 gal. capacity but it only takes 8 gal to fill it up when the needle reads empty. is it common to have the guage read wrong? only getting about 20mpg w/ the 1.8; i expected it to be better. thank, gregg

  14. i'm checking to see what the opinion is regarding the 1.8 L motors. i have a 1993 impreza 1.8 that seems to be running well and i'm wondering if they are good motors. thanks for your input! gregg </SPAN>
  15. the fusible link that is blowing is in the engine compartment fuse box at the front. i was thinking it was the main fusible link, but i don't know.
  16. would those items make the car buck and affect the abs system, while blowing the fusible link and causing the light show on the dash? there is rust under the hood, is it possible that it is a ground issue? thank you, gregg
  17. hello all. i will try to keep it brief. the problem started w/ blowing the fusible link and hard wiring a fix to get home. after that the car ran fine for a week and then failed to start when warm. i pulled some relays and plugged them back in and after 10 minutes the car started. this happend a couple more time over the nest two weeks. the last time after it started i had a funny brake pedal feeling coming to a stop, the abs light came on along with the trans fluid temp light and the cel. while trying to limp home every time i hit the brake the tach and speedo would drop down to zero (car stayed running), the warning lights were intermittant and the car did not shift properly. now the car won't start on aregualr basis. i replaced the ECU and it didn't help. any suggestions would be helpful. i think i read some post about a serious issue like this being a bad ground. is this possible? if so, which grounds are likely suspect? thank you all again. gregg
  18. my front floors are wet after it rains. are there body drains that can clog and leak in to the pass compartment? no sunroof and all the rubber looks good. any ideas? thanks, gregg
