My other subby is a 04 cobb stage II wrx with a ported turbo and turbo back exhaust and etc...blah..blah... any whew I also like my old brat in some ways it is more fun then my wrx. Slow... yes very slow.. but I can also drift farther up a dirt road with the brat and I am not afraid to take it off roading and vally climbing. I love the T tops and I can use it on my acrage as a small tractor for doing chores. Yep there is just some thing special about a boxer egine with four wheel drive reguardless if it is 280 ish hp or 70ish hp it does not matter. Pluss the ea81's are sooo easy to work on. It will be the motor that my daughters will get to cut there first mechanics teeth on. Thanks agin MCbrat for saleing it to me!!

You might also want to look in to a dry cell. (I used to be tech support for a car audio store.) They are made to totaly discharge down to 0. They will do this a few hundered times with out any ill effects to the battery. Also there pretty small. http://aampofamerica.com/web/catalogs_pdf/SBRO05v3.pdf page 22:)

Ok does any one have a name of a company tha rebuilds Hitachis? I have a dual intake with the carbs so I have to stay with the Hits and can not go webber. The dual carbs use a diffrent rebuild kit then the normal ones and rather then me trying to figure it out I would rather pay to make it some one elses problem. International forum members also feel free to post. I rather pay more to have it done right. Thanks John

dual carb intake made ez proto type
7point62fmj replied to 7point62fmj's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
Thanks for the input. I am not sold on which carb to use. I might see about slapping a 4 barrel adapter plate on the two barrel and closeing off the two small ones -

7point62fmj replied to 7point62fmj's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
Well I dont have a ea82 to look at but by design I would think it is bigger due to the dual carbs over the one carb application on the ea82. OH one more thing I have know way of know what this carb came off of a ea82 or ea81 but I do know it will fit on my 81 -

here is a real real rough side view of the intake. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=12833&cat=500 I know this intake will not clear the hood but we all need a reason the build a hood scoop. My biggest concern is making the linkage work and the impact of the carb being so high off the motor. maybe Scott (sjr) coold make one. I know I could probbaly make a prototype. -
http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=12832&cat=500&ppuser=17621 I have been thinking about this for a few days now and wanted to get some feed back. The reason I think this would be a good Idea is 1. the dual carb intake is larger and has better flow 2. you dont have to mess with the dual carb linkage 3. if I go with a q-jet carb I can tune it and actualy find parts for the carb. No one seems to have a good pick of the dual carb intake on a usdm ea81 motor but on the other hand I know there are alot of guys on the board that has this intake. So what do you think?

Hey did you ever get the dual carb setup on this thing yet. If so can I get a few pics.

IF the wires were exposed and touched each other it may of blew out that specfic channel of that speaker. It is posiable that it did not damage the main power supply so the radio would still come on. IF it is bad you are looking at about 80 dollars to repair the bad mosfet or hexfet... I used to work for a repair store and we did sale clarion. Try to get a speaker that is not from that car and hook it up and see if it works. You can also use a multi meter.

I stated the same problem as brian in a early thread back when you had pics on how to do a ea82 intake swap. and I did not get a pm

I live in the mid west and it really is not that easy to find parts.. Thanks for the Info Dis order. Help full as always:headbang: so any body want to give it a shot what the part number is for the seal:confused: -
Ok I am trying to use my idots guide for my subaru to help me fix a leak that I have in my rear diff where my main drive shaft meets it. But the only thing the book shows is how to take off the drive shaft. It does not say any thing about a leak where the drive shaft meets the diff. My friend belives that there is a seal that I need to replace. So what I need to know is if there is a seal and the part #. Or is there a page # in the book that shows how to fix the leak. Or point me in the right way to finding it. In till then I am going to go back to the search button and look agin. Oh I have a 87 brat gl 4 speed. Thanks as always:burnout: John
