would you need all wheel drive?? the cars are light enough, and have all the weight right over the rear wheels. I'm sure you wouldn't have too much trouble.
-
You missed out. We built a huge furnace outta bricks, and melted lotsa stuff. We melted 2 1/2 wheels, and a complete head from a Datsun... valves and all. SOOO much aluminum!! I won't be coming next week, but after that school is out, yeah!

project number 3...
-
working 'til 6pm:(

I have a few ideas if Scott doesn't have anything planned: -I colormatched and painted a impreza hood scoop for the justy, and thought it would be fun (funny) to install it (requires cutting) -also, getting started on lift kit Cutting, drilling blocks etc.

Sounds good! I'll be there.

That's so sweet. I hope I might be able to make it next year! So did Mosiah figure out a CB antenna? Because I can still bring one on wednesday if he didn't.

Ok please help me make a decision. I need opinions!

Don't take me too seriously here... but think about what you are saying: I'm 18, and about to buy my mom's car... you're 18, you need to drive cars for your age, right?? I don't know. For 3000, I could think of a lot better ways to spend my money on a vehicle. But my priorities may lie differently than yours. Good luck on your decision! -
Got faded bumpers / trim?
djkindt replied to Hodaka Rider's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I use a chemical called: "purple Dressing". It smells like grapes and is more of an oil and not a paint. put it in a spray bottle and spray it on any faded black plastic trim or bumper and let it sit for a bit. Then wipe or wash it off. I just did it on my justy bumpers. Works great. No paint, no masking, done deal in 5-10 minutes! oh, I would use it on my ea81 bumpers, but they are long gone! -
So glad to see it up and running again. Hey andy, I got TIRES! now just need a lift to fit them on...
-
It's either Subarus, or post '67 vw busses... I love it.
-
Scott, I don't think I can make it tonight. I work until 6pm, and then I have a HUGE project that is due by 7am tomorrow. I think I will be up until the wee hours of the morning anyway, so if I went to Subie night, then who knows if I'd even finish it. Have fun though! And have a good trip. Take lots of pictures. Dylan

That's kinda the joke that keeps coming up... every wednesday, my car gets shorter. although I don't really know what is left to cut up now. I'm sure we'll find something! Excited to see your brat and stuff on wednesday. See you there! Right??

If you are curious at all. It's not that great, but it was taken with a digital camera. Enjoy the music... http://s56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...r1_0001wmv.flv

OKAY, If you want to see the progress on Scott's Blue Bomber, and my car (no name yet): I made a video with my new digital camera and did a quick and dirty editing job using a program that came on this computer... It's kinda cool though. Check it out: http://s56.photobucket.com/albums/g188/djkindt/?action=view¤t=Subiesver1_0001wmv.flv Dylan Man... I should have been studying instead of messing around with this...:-\

What about tonight?? Anything going on?? I should be able to make it, but I might be a little late (i.e. 7:30 or so).
-
I'm on my way off to work now. I work 'til 6... although I don't know how much more capable I am... I'll check back here at 6ish, and see where your at. Good luck!

I didn't understand a word of that... except for "beer" and "doughnuts"
-
As far as I know, it has 2inch blocks up front, and he showed me some crazy lift gizmos he had for the rear for about 2 1/2 inches... w/o dropping the diff. So it has crazy ground clearance back there.
-
I will be trimming the lower nose... I don't know about radiator relocation though. Sounds like a lot of work! It will have a welded rear, lift and big tires though. The goal is to KEEP UP with Scott's blue bomber... However I cannot get any of these things until I get $$$... which I have none of right now. I wish Scott would post a picture of his now. it looks pretty sweet. Oh yeah. Also, plans for continuing the roll bar and turning into a full external cage. It will go up through the roof and follow the roof line all the way down probably to the struts. It will double as a nice roof rack too!
-
Look up for last nights progress. Scott! You should take a picture of the blue bomber and put it up

Yeah, Sweet. You should rebuild that legacy motor (I guess it's called: "ej"...?) and put it in your hatch. But I might be able to lend a hand on the weekend when I'm off work. I'll let you know.

djkindt replied to uncoolperson's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
I used to ride dirtbikes there ALL the time. What a cool place. Now I sold my dirtbike for college money, but I have a subie!! Sounds like fun
