the long blocks are very very different. cannot easily do that swap. oil cooling and water cooling lines, compression ratios you can do a ej22 swap if you delete everything and swap a harness but the differences are many, exhaust is no where near the same, harnesses different, ecu different, etc etc. you have one of the most sought after engines in the history of engines, i would do some research and either rebuild it or have a reputable tech rebuild it you car becomes nearly worthless in a resell situation with out the 22t

actually i have come across several broken sway bars, clean in half. i would say 6-8 have passed through my hands, not links, the bars them selves i would suggest a wrecking yard, or posting in the wanted section here as for the auto to 5 speed swap. it is very easy, just do your homework, plan well, and then tackle it. even an inexperienced wrench can do it in a weekend if they have all the needed parts and have read their homework

People have done it is amazingly beautiful out here. The point that I am trying to make is that I have used many of the Fel-Pro gaskets, I personally believe that a proper torque sequence and proper surface preparation are the key. I just wanted to inform the original poster that Fel-Pro gaskets can be used with success, I have not had a failure yet that I am aware of using the multi layer steel.

agreed. never tried the light weight route, but as with anything, " on paper" and " real world" are vastly different sometimes i ordered a severe duty ej25 clutch, and a new oem ej25 flywheel, should be approx 6 lbs heavier then stock. will accompany with a sohc 2.5 crank pulley and thump away! id love 444s in the car...but admittedly it will never happen

so ive been driving and building subarus for quite a while, but id like to get some feedback here i have my beloved 1991 legacy, its been with me for almost a decade and is nearing 400k. i intend on keeping her forever it has a 3.5 inch lift, and 215/75/16 tires, quite a bit larger then oem. still has 4.11 gears and stock ej22 for the most part i use the car daily to commute to work, stop and go traffic, occasional woods wandering, 4 wheeling, and so on, but pretty mild so- as for modifying the clutch and flywheel, there are two schools of thought- light weight flywheeel, such as an exedy or similar or find a slightly heavier flywheel like in an ej25, these mods can be accompanied by heavier or lighter crank pullys as well light= spin up quick and decelerate quick heavier= rotational mass, lugs better what do fellow tinkerers have experience with? also my clutch (napa brand) sucks donkey rump roast royally. i need to replace it with a quality one, recommendations? the car still is very close to stock HP wise cheers yall

You hav to call delta and ask for the custom grind , they don't advertise er27 parts. The last set I bought they advertised 12-15% increase, intake will add 2-3, exhaust the same, get rid of cats if you can -

delta cams custom grind, intake, exhaust. larger injectors, thats about it. cams will make the most difference though -
yes it is possible, yes it has been done countless times. struts springs etc are bolt in. rear top hats will be different but easily handled, i would encourage searching google. i personally did this to my99 i had years ago, and my 1991, lowered it a little, not much. i also used wrx brakes. that helped also. subarus are like legos= fiddle til your happy

yes, find a limited slip out of a turbo legacy, wrx, 2.5rs, random other cars, and swap away! pay attention to gear ratio obviosly, you need to match your current. and also male/female axle stubs. those are easy to swap, but make note. good luck! i have a 91 sport sedan lsd in my 91 legacy wagon
