  1. Aw man, yer killin' me... My sis's kid is getting married Friday evening over in Roseville, so I'm out. Please take plenty of pix!
  2. I've had cabinets in some of my houses, some had shelves instead. I presently have a mix of both. I generally prefer the shelves, mostly because of the easier access, especially up high..and they can be "built" to my needs, such as depth and strength (for heavy stuff). Cabinets are good, I have some in my garage, but I find that I'm unloading and loading them a lot when I need to get to (or look for) something. Used cabinets are certainly an excellent way to go, for cost reasons. Just my 2 bucks
  3. It's probably cheaper and much easier to just replace the whole door. EA82's are plentiful in the wrecking yards, and finding a color match is not all that difficult. Under $50, done in minutes. Just my 2 bucks
  4. Not many trees for shade..looks like Prarie City , out on hwy 50?
  5. HA! I remember that one, at the end there was a voice-over announcer that said, "Seeyour local Phoenix Area Subaru Dealer Today". IIRC there were only 2 dealerships then, one on Camelback Rd. (Just over the fence from my apartment), and another in Scottsdale. Wow.. brings it back .
  6. My bone stock '83 GL 4WD 4-speed manual has vented discs... Just my 2 bucks
  7. The company I work for has had them from the beginning. I've driven them all, here are my impressions: Decent power..not spectacular, but adequate. The Korean V6 cars and vans have the best power. Sure footed. Far and away better than anything else larger or smaller, equal to Outbacks. Felt a little heavy, but not top-heavy. More like solid. Ran fine on regular 87 gas. IIRC, all the automatics had the manumatic shift gate. Earlier model A/C wasn't all that great until about '07 or '08 (it ain't no Pontiac A/C now, but better than before). Third row is OK for kids, but very tight for adults. When third row is deployed, there's not much room behind it for your stuff. When driving, I felt very cramped. The center console intrudes into the leg wells, kind of reminds me of the "airplane-cockpit-like" driver area of a recent model Thunderbird or Corvette..everything kind of wraps around the driver (I don't like that). I cannot recall any reliability issues whatsoever. Opinion: Tribeca might be useful for a few years, but you can't beat a minivan for your purpose, especially with growing kids. The Korean vans keep getting built better, the Hondas and Toyotas are going backwards in quality. Nissan Quest is the best Japanese van right now. If you must have AWD, the Ford Freestyle/Taurus X is a good alternative: looks like an SUV or station wagon, has AWD and all the space of a minivan, especially behind the 3rd row. Plenty of recent model used ones out there. Please let us know what you decide . Just my 2 (experienced) bucks
  8. Street Vibrations is a HUGE event. Not only is Reno-Sparks crowded with bikes, but Carson City and Lake Tahoe too (and probably Truckee). And they're falling off of them everywhere and in great numbers .
  9. Sheesh..I leave camp for a few minutes to go drink beer with Corky, and the place goes crazy () . As said in Email, "congrats!!"
  10. LOL. When I first got online, I was browsing around the internet and found this site (boy that was a long time ago:eek:). From that, I clicked on the link to the old USMB, and I've been a member on this forum ever since.
  11. Wow..what a weekend. Another great show in a beautiful setting. Certainly worth a 14 hour drive in a 25 year old car with no A/C (and 14 hours back) to attend this soiree. I'll definitely do it again, of course. Starting mileage 326,337 Ending mileage 327,616 Having the store (and town) so close really added to the "convenience" factor, making an ice or beer run an easy task. On one of the trips to the store, some of us kinda drove around a little bit, just to see the rest of the town..very clean, quiet and kind of "quaint", for lack of a better word. (Amanda, thanks for driving ) Many thanks to all that helped put on this affair, your hard work does not go unnoticed by me. The food was an unexpected bonus . My camera croaked at the show, I have only a very few pix still stuck in there:confused:. Thanks to those that took and have posted yours. It was great to see everyone again..see ya next year! Just my 2 bucks
  12. Maybe I missed something, did you first try to secure the loose carb to the manifold? How did the car run after that? That might be all it needs to become serviceable. Just my 2 bucks
  13. :slobber:, although the bottom pic is a little over my (stock wagon's) head...
  14. Brian (and Mike), the Colombia River bridges aren't like the bridges around San Francisco ($5~6 for the Golden Gate , at least $4 for SF/O), IIRC they're only a buck or less. Certainly not worth going out of our way for, especially if it's unpleasant desert. Just my 2 bucks
  15. My thoughts are (if we don't go I-5) are pretty much that route, except instead of 197 (all desert and out of the way to the east), taking US26 to OR-35 to Hood River, than to WCSS. Probably cuts off a few miles, some time and is mostly forested, meaning a much cooler ride. A short hot spell crossing the Deschutes River at the Indian reservation, then the rest is a very nice drive. My 2 bucks
  16. Last I comm'd with JB, his planned route was 395 (Susanville)-44-89-5-> Portland. I'm good with the Bend route, don't have to see Eugene and Portland that way:-p..but I'll go whichever.
  17. ^^ I like, I like. A little big, but I like the concept .
  18. Wow..that brushguard looked pretty sorry when I saw it at the yard. Great job on making it look so good!
  19. We could always strap it to the top of my wagon...
  20. Arizona guys (and sis) are out this year, various reasons. Will miss them. I was considering travelling with Jibs, leaving after he gets home from work Thursday afternoon. I think his preferred route is 395 (Susanville)-44-89-5. Sounds pretty good to me, by the time we hit the really desolate stretches near Eugene:-p, it ought to be good and dark so I won't have to look at it..much cooler ride, too. Camp out along the way. (JB, please correct me if I'm off here) I'd prefer to arrive at the show around noon or so, on Friday. Maybe I'll have time to take a nap before leaving . -- Southbound: Your proposal in PM sounds mostly good for me, we can decide the details whenever. My 2 bucks
