  1. FWIW Brian, the "Starting location" on those itineraries is from downtown Reno. Jibs' place is about 20 miles north of there, so the show is actually a half hour or so closer than that . But I (89451) am still an hour away from Jibs'... Just my 2 bucks
  2. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, I'm sort of familiar with Hood River, we've had a couple of WCSSes there before. The Safeway was nice, and IIRC we also did a lot of shopping at Rosauer's (good beer selection). Won't set foot in a Wal Mart.

Reason for posting is that I'm travelling/camping with some others from my area, and was looking to see if we need to bring stuff like camp stoves and cooking supplies to the show. No need if there was food available on site.

I'm in a light blue '83 wagon..ski rack, brushguard, multicolored hood. Can't miss those Nevada license plates. I'll be with some other NV guys, and also some Californians too. By my last count, there'll be 2 or 3 BRATs, my car, a '96 Outback, a really nice silver EA82 wagon, maybe a couple of Imprezas from OR or WA in our group/camp.

I'll keep an eye out for ya.

  3. Lookin' good Pete, thanks for the pix.
  4. Who said anything about hanging with us again? J/K man, see ya there .
  5. Put me down for a glass please, I'll get the PayPal going shortly .
  6. Didn't someone do this to an EA81 wagon? I seem to recall having one at a WCSS a couple years back.
  7. I'll be working with Jibs soon on our travel plans, we'll keep you in the loop .
  8. What about YOU? Are you going to the show this year?
  9. Pete Please let us know how it went...how you configured your braces and lift, failed attempts and how corrected, that sort of stuff. Pix would be dandy:).
  10. OK. In the name of "being prepared", will there be food served/for sale on site? Which days? No problem if not, it'd be just nice to know what type of "supplies" to pack (or not) before leaving home.
  11. If you have to buy any of the materials/devices to do the above, it may be simpler, cleaner and cheaper just to rent a cherry picker. IIRC I saw a rental place (on Industrial, sorta behind Hamdogs Bar) that handled that sort of stuff. Just my 2 bucks
  12. Oh yeah, forgot about the seat..thanks. Sorry I missed you, hope you're feeling better.
  13. I'm out. Stuck in South Shore until at least 3, maybe later..by the time I got to Jibs' place it'd be almost dark. Rats.
  14. Not much relief from the heat here. It's been hovering around 100 in Reno all week. It's even been in the high 80's in Tahoe, which is unusually warm. I'm working on meeting up with y'all on Saturday afternoon. I may be working at Harvey's Casino that day, and I don't know how late that'll go. Don't need anything from PNP, but I'd like to hang with you guys at least for a little while, before WCSS. My number's the same as it has been forever.
  15. Welcome to our little community here..an excellent source for Subaru information, and a swell bunch of folks. If you can make it, a lot of us get together every year at WCSS (West Coast Subaru Show). http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=99432, and http://www.westcoastsubarushow.com/. Many old Subarus like ours (I've an '83) have made the trip there many times and from much farther away than Santa Rosa. Very cool weekend:). You're certainly invited. I used to spend many weekends in Santa Rosa, back in the days I lived in Pleasanton. My bud has an auto repair business over near Fulton Rd, and knows my '83 pretty well. If you get in over your head as I have many times, and need a pro mechanic (everything except smog) this guy's pretty good. Works evenings and on weekends, too. Pagnano's Automotive 2815 Alton Ln. Santa Rosa, 95403 544-3020
  16. http://www.ktvn.com/Global/story.asp?S=10733424 Hey Jibs, isn't this near you? I could see the smoke plume from Tahoe this afternoon, didn't realize where it was until I saw the news (Channel 2). Please let us know if we can help you out. It might be a good idea just to think about what to grab in a hurry in case you have to leave suddenly (been there, done that:rolleyes:).
  17. ...A good example of all the fun and excitement that can be had by all at WCSS!!
  18. I'll shoot for it. Sunday is a bigger possibility for me.
  19. Wow Pete, I had re-read my post to remember what I wrote. I've seen that car parked there intermittently, sometimes nearer the Wells Fargo than Pizza Barn, up until about the middle of 2008..I guess that's been about a year now. Another thought. It may belong to someone that works in that bike/ski shop next to the pizza place, but like I said, I haven't seen it for awhile. I do still watch for it when I pass through town, though on a very irregular basis. I have a bud that works right along main drag in G'ville that's a "car guy", next time I see him I'll ask him to keep an eye out for it. I have a feeling it's parked "non-operational" somewhere locally, it'd be a cool car to revive and bring to WCSS. With any luck, one of us will "stumble" onto it.
