  1. There are wholesale suppliers of fasteners that supply body shops and such that have catalogs of practically every kind of automotive fastener ever made. (I have a friend that used to work for one of them long ago, and neither of us can recall the name of the company:-\) They may not have a specific listing for BRATs or anything that old, but I recall every item had a picture and dimensions in the descriptions. I got some for a door panel to an Accord I had many years ago, they came in a box of about 15 or 20. I just matched up the old fastener to the pic in the catalog, and voila..worked perfectly. Didn't cost much either, like $5 for the box. Finding one of those suppliers might be the way to go, they'll probably have exactly the right item. It worked for me. Just my 2 bucks
  2. So, the problem was restriction in the exhaust system. Glad to see you've made progress..identifying an issue is the hardest part. The rest is relatively easy:).
  3. That was a cool project, well documented here. I'm glad I got to "meet" it in person at last year's WCSS . BTW, how'd ya get back home from PHX?
  4. Yeah, Hamdogs..great place for breakfast, too. Maybe your problem isn't fuel starvation. Could be electrical, possibly a cracked disty cap, or maybe a timing problem..might be worth a check (or double-check). Just my 2 bucks
  5. Hey Pete, if you're still around I can meet you at Mott Canyon, or maybe HamDogs.
  6. You may want to consider Thursday 27th off too, that'll give you a whole day to get there before Friday's "festivities". I'll hold a space for you if you can't get there until Friday night. Just my 2 bucks
  7. Mentally noted..I'll grab one (or 2) for ya if I see any.
  8. I see many posts about hotels..is there not going to be camping at the show?
  9. I think it's a good idea to post in the forum rather than PM, at least it keeps all of us that are participating on the same page. I'm shooting for leaving Thursday morning, roughly taking the same route that we've taken to the Hood River WCSS, overnight in Bend. From Tahoe/Reno, 395 to Susanville. CA-139 to Klamath Falls US 97 to Bend (stay overnight). Leave Bend B&E Friday (to avoid the heat going through the Indian res) US 97 to Madras US 26 to OR-35 to Hood River Cross either at Hood River Bridge or Bridge of the Gods, whichever we're feeling that day:rolleyes:. Return following the same route. Camping along the way home on Sunday night was pretty cool actually, that's a good possibility. Brian, remember that my wagon's made the trip many times..you'll be all right. Just get your BRAT in tiptop shape it can be, take some spare parts you may need (tools of course). I'm due for a cooling system flush, I'll have Norm check some other stuff while it's up on the hoist.
  10. AFIK, we've been talking about hitting Carson City. I'd kinda like to get there early, its forecast to be abnormally hot tomorrow. Ugh.
  11. Considering the recent reports of mega-heat expected this weekend, maybe we might consider getting there a little early... Just my 2 bucks
  12. Hey JB, are you and Jeremy still in for Sunday? Let me know, I;ll meet ya over there (Carson City yard).
  13. I would think that WCSS is the main reason for an excuse to leave AZ or California. (Gotta chack out Amanda's new ride:).)
  14. Hertz is one of the largest buyers of Subarus in the US. It's impossible to reserve a specific brand or model as their fleet constantly changes hour to hour, so getting a Subaru is kinda "luck of the draw". You can however, call the reservation center or local office where you're picking the car up from a few days ahead of time and ask them to put into your reservation notes that you prefer a Subaru product. They're usually pretty good at working to fulfill a request like that, but not guaranteed that they'll even come across one of what you want..again, it's a little bit "luck of the draw".
  15. Definitely miniature.
  16. Hey Pete, has that problem returned/stopped? There's some talk starting about hitting the PnP in a couple of weeks (May 16-17 or thereabouts) from some of the guys, think you might want to get in on that?
  17. Weekend 16/17 is lookin' good for me too (so far), Sundays are best.
  18. For those that may be interested: http://www.tahoedailytribune.com/article/20090425/NEWS/904249955/1068&ParentProfile=1056
  19. I picked up my '83 4WD wagon from my GF's sis (original owner) for $500 in 1989. It had about 85K on it at that time, all paperwork from new included. This car has NEVER left me stranded ANYWHERE, and has made the 1500-mile plus trips to WCSS six times, and plan to attend this year's WCSS meet. I still have it (20 years now), just turned 326,000 miles this week:eek:. I think I got my $500 worth.
  20. Hertz has Shelbys currently for rent, I've seen some Corvettes on the lot, too.
