  1. Mine occaisionally does the same thing while decending, only I have the additional pleasure of having it sometimes pop from 4lo to 4WD "neutral" while climbing. I've had the mounts looked at and evaluated by more than a couple of Subaru specialists, and have been told they're OK. I chalk it up to age: 303,000 miles since 1983:drunk: . Just my 2 bucks
  2. Yeah, we had a good day out there from about noon til 4 or so. Lots of cool trails, some leading to nowhere:D . Not shown are some pretty gnarly rocky trails and creek/crevasse crossings. Both of our stockers went through undamaged:headbang: . Great pix Jeremy!
  3. Regular pushrod engine here, forgot to add it's got a manual D/R trans. Just double checked the engine, I typo'd above:banghead: ...actual number is 300805 (boy, do I feel like a dork:lol: ).
  4. Well, my '83 wagon's engine is #800305..Manufacture date (on door jamb) sez 5/83. I got this car from the original owner, and have every receipt since new. She did not replace the engine (nor have I). Hope this helps.
  5. Not really. I've learned to "adjust" the way I use the throttle and just got used to it. I've asked around, and have been told that it's something that is pretty much a normal occurance. Remember, that carb is almost 25 years old:rolleyes: . Hope this helps.
  6. Gotta love it. I've seen it snow in Tahoe every month of the year, WOOT! So far Monday's good for me too:) .
  7. Kind of late notice (time slipped away), but with the expected pleasant (read not hot) weather this weekend, I was thinking of rolling out my rig and doing a little trail riding, maybe a small bit of wrenching, and BBQ. Anyone care to participate?
  8. Depends on how much you want to spend, and what you want to be close to. Range is from 3 stars all the way down to crackhead joints in Reno and Carson, and there are some way better hotels in south Tahoe, also some decent "mom-and-pop" places at substantially lower price.
  9. Ah, glad you mentioned that.. I'd like to suggest that whomever wishes to participate, bring some favorite brew that's made in their local area (example: Lake Tahoe Ale, Great Basin Brewing Co., etc.), similar to what was attempted at WCSS 6. Just my 2 bucks
  10. Very nice, Bri. Will I get to meet this one at the Wrenchfest/Butcherin'?
  11. OK guys, just got back from an excursion down to the "Big City" of Sacramento for a couple of days (kid's graduation, a little golf, lots of celebrating). Called Jibs back, so we're up to date. I'll be at your place in a few hours. Now if I can only remember which bits and pieces I need from Brian's wagon... Let me know what I'll need to pick up at the grocery store for a BBQ(?) on the way out to Jibs' ranch.
  12. You might also try Norm's in South Shore. Subaru specialists. Been there many times. I understand Chistensens Automotive is good and honest, they're just across from Lilly's tire in South Shore. If you wanted to go to Carson City, there are a couple I could recommend there, too. I've been most satisfied with Norm's and Independent though. My 2 bucks
  13. Yeah Jeremy, I guess you're right about that seat. Maybe I'll have a look around the Carson yard B&E Saturday before it's too hot out there. Monday's out of the question for me..besides my wagon's in "summer hibernation" until WCSS.
  14. Just sending out some preliminary feelers ... Any interest in maybe hitting the Sparks PnP this Saturday? I'm shooting for a certain bucket seat that was spotted there a few weeks ago (thanks Subieman), and after much procrastinating, it's time to move on it:rolleyes:. I know it's expected to be in the 80's this weekend, so if any of the Northern NV guys think you can put up with my complaining about the heat, let's get together...maybe we can find some unexpected cool stuff there.
  15. No PayPal here. I'll PM you with my order and payment info...
  16. Are the "jaws" adjustable to fit a smaller/narrower container? I never get the huge size cup, and sometimes I get bottles like SoBe or Snapple. Great find, BTW:) .
  17. Yup, that's the one... Thanks J.
  18. Yeah, that's the place. Come to think of it, I don't remember any still pix of my rig there, just some video.
