  1. Can't make it..some sort of family "bash" at sis's place in Roseville. Please get pix:D !
  2. I've had my '83 wagon since December 1990, purchased from my roommate's brother (original owner) for $500. Had 80K on it then, and all the paperwork since new with it. Just turned 300K last week (pix soon).
  3. Take a ride out to Vegas or Phoenix..tint shops on almost every corner. Most are reasonably priced, have a big selection of shades/colors, and do a good job.
  4. Mick, have a look at the Coolant Temperature Sensor. Mine had similar symptoms (many years ago)..replaced it, voila:clap: .
  5. Uhhh... Hey crazyD, I guess I missed seeing you at the wrenchfest today, a HUGE turnout:-\ . Got lots accomplished today, thanks guys.
  6. Yeah, he just PMed me: "Hey Dave, sorry I didn't get to you sooner. We'll meet at the ZIPPY MART on the corner of evans and North McCarran. 10 AM sound good? Take 395 North and get off at the North McCarran exit. Take a left on to McCarran (West) and head past 3 lights for about 2 miles I'd say, the 4th light should be Evans, and you'll see the gas station there. My cell # is 775-2**-**** if you need to call. See ya tomorrow." Sooo, I guess we've got a clutch/tranny (JB) , front struts(me), and whatever you've got going. Dress warm!
  7. OK, sounds good to me. I'll get directions from you in PM on Friday or Saturday. Saturday might be a good day to ski, but our seaon passes aren't good this weekend:( , on account of the Washington's Birthday holiday. Maybe Pick-N-Pull?
  8. Yeah, me too. Living in the middle of it all has it's perks, like being able to pick and choose at a moment's notice when to hit the slopes:grin: (last Sunday was AWESOME). Back on "subjeck", are we still wrenchin'?
  9. Either day or both. I'm a fair-waether skier, so working on cars in a garage is preferable to freezing on the Sky Chair when it stops halfway up the mountain (bbrrrr...) during a snowstorm:rolleyes: .
  10. How about we get together anyway? I'm sure we all have something to tweak or replace on our cars (I certainly do... ).
  11. Yeah, next weekend works great for me. Haven't had a good wrenchfest in a long time..looking forward to it:D .
  12. They're across the 'Gate, but have a good reputation: http://www.askimsauto.com/aboutus.html
  13. I believe the only gear that is lower is 4th gear. Starting in '83, 4th gear got much "taller"..pretty sure all the other gears are the same.
  14. Sure..a diagram of the town showing parts stores, grocery stores, carwashes, even directions to the fairgrounds from all directions would be great and much appreciated, thanks. Looking forward to meeting you.
  15. I've used the wire brush/drill method many times, Fords and Chevys (mostly during the 70's:burnout: ). Just find a way to secure the pan so both hands are free while working. Please be careful if scraping, I've seen some weird things happen when the "scraping tool" slips...and it will. My 2 bucks
  16. I was thinking about taking the same route as last time (WCSS 6); Susanville/Klamath/Bend, starting out on Thursday, overnight in Bend, arrive around noontime Friday at the show. Gotta get through that miserable canyon (Indian res) before it gets too hot (ugh).
  17. Uhh...I guess I'm really behind the curve on this one, eh? Thanks.
  18. Actually, the license plates might look good as (or on) the flyer, or maybe even as a sticker of some sort. My 2 bucks..whaddya think?
  19. Any interest in a beer stein/glass/coffee mug this year?
  20. If the flyers are on 8.5 X 11 sheets, wouldn't there be enough room for logos and other stuff below/above what's shown in the examples? I'm showing the flyer actually wider than tall. My 2 bucks
  21. TSJ: I am TOTALLY illiterate when it comes to artwork and such, but how about trying the above (at least the big letters) in SUBARU font? I'm curious to see how it might look. My2 illiterate bucks
  22. Nice goin' Brian..all without having to deal with the idiots on 80 over Donner. Would've been cool to hang with ya though. Next time, I guess. I just had a thought. Since you doubt that engine is original, there's the small possibility it could be one of those "used JDM engines". Not sure about Subaru, but many years ago I replaced the 20R in an old Celica with one of those JDM engines, and it was actually a 21R. Everything fit and worked great, but there were a few minor differences, the one I remember most was the oil dipstick was on the other side. A couple of other minor things, but just a little odd (and what Subaru isn't a little odd to begin with:lol: ?). My 2 bucks
  23. Yer gonna let a little snow stop ya? Geez, you're turning into a real Californian:lol:  . Cluck, cluck, cluck... . WooHoo!! Fresh powder!!
