  1. Ugh.. Almost makes me feel like leaving the Subie home and taking the Acura...
  2. Hundred degrees expected for Reno, only high 70's/low 80's in Tahoe  .
  3. When I lived in Phoenix, tint was almost a necessity. There were (are) lots of "tint shops" all over town, all reasonably priced. Most do a great job. One can always spot an amateur do-it-yourself job a mile away. Generally, the tint doesn't last as long as a pro job, either. Think about it..you've got a brand-new car, and isn't it worth spending a couple hundred bucks for a good tint job? Just my 2 bucks
  4. Ah..thanks. I'll plan/shop accordingly (Brian, you gettin' this? ).
  5. Just to get this straight, does this mean we won't have to be packing/preparing food all weekend (it'll be available as described above)?
  6. I'm in, arriving around noon Friday, departing "time TBA" Sunday.
  7. I know we tried this last year, but I thought it might be kind of cool if we (those that can or want to) brought to the show a small sample of a favorite beer or two from their local area. Example: Lake Tahoe Ale. Sierra Nevada. The more oddball the better. I'm a stout/ dark beer man myself (and quite the lightweight:lol: ). Corky, I'll see if I can remember to grab some more of that BlackHawk I told ya about.
  8. Haven't worked it up yet, but won't be back-breaking.
  9. I figure on taking 205 into Vancouver, grabbing a hotel there Thursday evening. I believe the rest stop you speak of is the same one we met some members (Ross/Idaho?) for WCSS 3 (I could be WAY off here:rolleyes: ). I'm shooting for a hotel like a Marriott or Hilton that has internet access and breakfast included, I'm sure someone in our group will bring a laptop. There's always the phone. Stay tuned here,we'll finalize our plans shortly. Heck, we may even arrive early enough to join y'all for pizza:drunk: !
  10. Vanagon? I hope you'll be expecting a razz or two for coming to a Subaru show in a VW. It's only fair, Hondasucks got "the business" when he showed up in that Mercury a few WCSSes back (boy, that was fun:lol: ). Glad to hear you'll be there  ..see ya at the Show.
  11. My vote goes to "within normal", I'm taking into consideration that the flash (or ambient lighting) may have washed out the pic a bit. Mine looked like that when I checked recently, I also thought I was running rich. Turned out there was a couple of small leaks in the exhaust system close to the front of the car. Fixed exhaust leak=voila:) . Stock settings will almost always yield greatest reliability (did you expect anything else from me? ). Just my 2 bucks (PS: PM me if your phone # has changed since we talked last)
  12. Congrats, man. Thought I'd never see the day...
  13. Brian, I remember those..very tasty:lol: .
  14. I gotta say, the Pugs looked good on that car, but these look great! Gotta find the caps, so the package looks more complete. IIRC, those are the type wheels that are on that 80 or 81 wagon parked at that dealership I was telling you about (shhh... ). Very nice.
  15. Oh yeah, I forgot to add: Doesn't drip (unless I goof something up at change time:lol: ) or consume any oil.
  16. Well, I guess havin' a station wagon is a good thing, eh? OK..looks like "party of six"..I'll check around.
  17. Party of one? Brian, are you participating:drunk: ?
  18. I guess before I book a hotel, maybe I'd better gather some info, such as: Who's in on the deal..Subieman/Amanda, me..already in. Jibs, Brian..are you in?
  19. You already know what I'm gonna say.."Leave it stock" .
  20. Doh! I've been procrastinating that one..I'll have to get with you on PM, maybe you can give me a little info on the local area. I'll get back to you soon.
  21. I have a question...when the hub was removed and found to be worn, were the splines on the axle also messed up?
  22. I've got almost 300,000 miles on my car, and over that time I've used everything from that $2.99 gallon jug stuff (I think it used to be called "Turbo XT") at Target, to all the major brands except Pennzoil. No synthetics, either. I just change it every 5000 miles or so, and use a genuine Subaru oil filter. I've never had any engine problems. Just my 2 bucks
