  1. All right you guys, you've been holding out on us. Where is this place?
  2. Thanks guys, I'll see if my bud with lots-o-tools (and a lift) has a minute, so we can check the U-joints out. I hope it's as simple as that. Jibs: Retire it? It's only got 286,000 miles on it:lol:  , plenty of life left:rolleyes: .
  3. Both axles are new. Sounds like a bearing somewhere in the driveline is really shot. Noise is worst/most coarse sounding after it's been sitting a few hours or overnight. Most apparent when a load is placed on the driveline, especially accelerating (no shaking or vibration in steering wheel), depressing the clutch pedal makes the noise stop. I know what shot wheel bearings sound like, this is not even close to that. Since depressing the clutch pedal makes it stop, I'm ruling out the throwout bearing. Is it possible that the pilot bearing is what's causing all the racket? Thanks
  4. My wipers work fine, as designed..intermittent feature included:grin: . What I'm looking for is to have adjustable delay intermittent (currently on my Acura, and on some of my former Mustangs, IIRC). Thanks, guys. (BTW JB, did you hit PnP's 1/2 price sale yesterday?)
  5. Subject: '83 GL Wagon. I'd like to have adjustable delay intermittent wipers. Presently, my wipers work fine on all settings including intermittent. Was there a "Super Deluxe" model EA81 that had that feature? Bigger question, are the switches interchangeable, providing for an easy swap? I think I recall seeing some of the EA82's with this feature..if so, would those components be swappable to EA81? I'm not interested in any of those aftermarket "add-on" type devices...trying to stay/look/work like stock. Thanks.
  6. Yeah, pretty much what Tom said..about 1/3 to 1/2 on my '83 (lots-o-miles).
  7. Ummm... Why not just replace or even add another, from a wrecking yard?
  8. Cool beans, Dave. Glad to hear you got it going again, and at little or no cost..WOOT!
  9. I personally don't mind so much the questions/subjects being brought up after having been discussed earlier. I kind of look at that as a way to encourage discussion on the subject, or just discussion in general. There's a strong chance that a new idea or procedure could be contributed by someone that never saw the previous threads, on account of possibly they're relative newbies to this board. My 2 bucks
  10. Dont forget to take pictures, for those of us that missed the event .
  11. Yeah. What Kerry said above, he knows his stuff...he's helped me a few times with carburetor questions after instsalling one of his quality rebuilds.
  12. Now that's kewl. My guess is it's of mid-to-late 60's vintage.
  13. Great to have ya back, if on a sad day (Hey Ho Let's Go for Johnny). Sounds as if your comp is as ancient as mine, .
  14. (I'll hijack for a second here...) Well, well...it's alive. Welcome back Pat, missed ya at WCSS. (End hijack)
  15. I've got over 285,000 miles on my '83..engine has never had any major surgery. I asked the original (and only previous) owner about oil, and she used "whatever the mechanic used". I have used whatever brand was on sale (anything except Pennz), with usually OEM Subaru and sometimes Amsoil brand filters. I've experienced absolutely no oil-related (or any, for that matter) engine problems or leaks. My change interval has been 4500-5000 miles. I'd rather not extend the change interval, figuring oil change day is also a good time to have a look around under the car, and every 5000 miles or so has worked for me. Just my 2 bucks
  16. Hmmm... I only got one CD, and it didn't work: some pix I could view, but when I tried to view them again, blank screen. :-\
  17. Well, well..it's about time:grin: . It'll be cooler soon, time for some more wheelin' trips. How was the drive home?
  18. Yeah, I hear ya man..I'm terrible with names. But I do remember hanging out with you and Corky in the beer garden Friday night, and I believe it was you that directed our 6-car caravan the last quarter mile to the show. I may not remember all the names, but I had a good time with y'all for sure. My 2 bucks
  19. I've been seeing ads for a clear film (not sure how thick) that's applied in place of a bra. Also intended to cover and protect headlights. Custom cut to fit.
  20. Just walked in, and read all the above posts... Wow..what an excellent time. Many, many thanks to you guys that got this show to work, could never have happened this well without you. Had a great time hanging out, and the mud I picked up in the mud pit got a lot of points and smiles (had to clean off the wheels though, muddy wagon wheels=imbalance:( ) the whole way back:headbang: . Great job guys.
  21. That's OK, just call me..I'll be leaving Incline about 8:30, should have a great view of the new fire near Virginia City. I'll overnight in Bend..call me along the way. I'll scout a good easy place to meet in town somewhere..we may have to hang out a bit until all have arrived, and then continue.
  22. Jeremy, if y'all aren't going thru K-Falls, I could easily hotel it in Bend Thursday night, and link up with you there. Just need to let Brian and Mendo (+others?) know when/ where to shoot for. Did you get/save my phone number? Do you have Brian's?
  23. LOL! That's the site that led me to the USMB for the first time. 285K now, shooting for 300K..then I'll look for a replacement, hopefully with A/C this time:rolleyes: .
