  1. Yep, 85-90..that's what I 've got, although the xmission juice is synthetic. Quite a difference on those cold Tahoe mornings in January.
  2. Yep, What Shanon said..I'm running axles from United, I feel confident in their quality.
  3. I usually go with OEM. Last set I got was priced less than Smothers...and do you really trust those guys at that Kragens on Geary to get the right part?
  4. Hey Shanon- Give me a day or so advance notice, I can buzz by your place and lend a hand (anything to get out of the 100 degree Livermore Valley heat!), maybe hit a PnP or 2.
  5. I caught a teen from down the street stealing the stereo from my then-new '82 Celica. Didn't involve the police, but the parents instead. That kid was hating life for a long time after that. I saw his brother a few years ago, and I was told the kid straighened out, got a legit job, and is a responsible family man. I agree with MorganM about the feeling of violation. A piece of stereo equipment is easily replaced, but the empty feeling of something missing (and damaged remains) is the worst. If criminals were smart, they wouldn't be criminals.
  6. Way to go, that's a major accomplishment. I would love to have seen the looks on the faces of the "big dogs" out there. Please put me on the list for a copy of the video. WOOT!
  7. I swung by the Tahoe end of the trail on Tuesday and asked around, no sign of them as of then. I was kinda hoping there had been a "sighting", no dice.
  8. Far be it from me to spill any "mush", but don't let her get away;).
  9. Extra points for Tim on that one, 'cause he dragged Vicky in with him:lol: Seeing all that mud inside the car was very educational for me.
  10. Wow..you think my wagon is that much faster than yours:D?
  11. Ya JUST couldn't let that one by, could ya Tim  ?
  12. (Heh heh) Does that mean I'll have to drag my "stocker" out to give you guys some company/competition? Sounds like fun.
  13. Yeah, Shanon(sf) ran his brother's car at Laguna Seca a few weeks ago, sounds like a blast. Geez, he didn't stay long, was here just a minute ago, I guess just long enough to sign up. BTW, with all that modifyin' going on, how are you planning on getting it past the SMOG NAZIS?
  14. Just an observation here..."No matter how much you modify, there'll always be someone that comes along that's faster/prettier/bigger". Just turn your nose up to the ricers by closing your windows, cranking up the A/C, and having a disgusted look on your face. "Have a nice day, and thanks for flushing out the police".
  15. Yeah, I thought you were going to leave the BRAT stock and modify your wagon some more. BTW, did your roommate sell his EA81 that day I was there?
  16. I was under the impression you were going to leave the BRAT stock (my vote, but you expected that anyway LOL).
  17. Uh, I'm working on that. The P'ton place is in the middle of a bidding war, so I'm not sure where I'll land after I'm out. I'm shooting for another place in Tahoe, but I can get a bigger place off the hill in the Carson Valley. Actually, I think it works out to be about the same time and distance from you as Pleasanton.
  18. Just checked the local newspaper, no full-page ad yet..soon, Grasshopper, soon:lol:.
  19. Brian, Ken's Tire in Tahoe has their annual "Snow Tire Blow-Out" coming up soon, usually around Labor Day or so. Excellent deals, that's where the tires you've seen on my wagon came from.
  20. Nah, the ig. lock wasn't as bad as the manual leads you to believe. I could be a little off on that, it was quite a while ago when I did that job. The biggest problem I had was the switch failed at 9PM the Wednesday before Thanksgiving..dealer parts closed until Monday, ugh! I like the ashtray idea, although you might have the potential to accidently hit the ashtray while driving and turn the car off. I'd suggest getting a stock "passing light" (Cyclops) switch and using that in its stock position on the lower dash.
  21. Seems like an awful lot of trouble to go through just to avoid the simple operation of changing the ig. lock. The GenSubaru kit came with two new keys, installation was a snap. (No disrespect intended, Skip)
  22. Yup, I should be closing on a place in Minden soon. We'll have to compare "homeowner war stories" (and some beers) soon.
  23. Hey Jeremy, sounds like you got a place in Virginia City (Land of fixer-uppers)? You can always use your Loyale...:eh:
  24. Lookin' good, thanks for all your hard work:cool: .
  25. Lookin' good..similar to an Acura board I participate in:D .
