  1. OK, thank you. I'll contact another member by phone and ask about the Facebook posts and content.
  2. Thanks Mike. Nope, something about not being in the right "audience". Are signups for WCSS open?
  3. At this point you'll be lucky to find EA81 seats that aren't torn or just plain trashed, in any color. Especially the driver's seat. As for patterns, material and thickness of the upholstery, I've found that the later model year and higher up the ladder you go (in EA81's) the better quality the material is. Example: the seat in a 1981 DL is usually not as nice as one in an '84 GL-10 or Turbo. IIRC all seats within the EA81 chassis are interchangeable=direct bolt in. Just my 2 bucks
  4. EA81 engines are pretty bulletproof. Rarely have I seen gasket failures in them. Did you use a Genuine Subaru thermostat? These engines seem to be very sensitive to that. They don't like aftermarket t-stats, so it's Subaru only. You mentioned the temp gauge creeping up past normal. Did you shut down before it reached the top? Perhaps with all the "stuff" you've done so far, there is a new "normal" that's a bit higher than before. If there's no leaking and there's no milky oil, gasket failure just doesn't make sense. Just throwing stuff out there. Please let us know if/when this is resolved. Hey just noticed your profile sez Tahoe..Are you still here?
  5. All great pix, keep 'em coming! Had a great time at this year's Show, after having missed the last two. The long drive from Tahoe was well worth it. Thanks to everyone that helped put this together, I'll be back next year!
  6. But of course! Working on meeting up with another attendee along the way, as we speak.
  7. Maybe? The Subaru social event of the season, and you say maybe?? It just wouldn't be the same without ya there, Rob. :)
  8. My Acura used to do that once in awhile. Try something simple first, like lubricating the lock cylinder. I used a graphite powder that's specifically for lubricating locks, available at the hardware store. Instructions on the package. Worked for me. Just my 2 bucks
  9. What part of the Bay Area? I used to live there when I had an older Subaru...there are a few good Subie shops scattered around NorCal.
  10. OK, thanks. I'm not a Facebook Rat, so I'll Register when the WCSS-specific site is ready to go.
  11. Its getting to be the time of year when I have to notify my employer of my vacation time. Has there been any date and place set for this year's WCSS? Just my 2 bucks
  12. Whatever the age, it could just in plain talk be a defective tire. Dangerous any way you look at it.
  13. "It is the cheap man that pays the most for things."
  14. Get and read a copy of "How to Keep your Subaru Alive" . One that covers your model may be found (or borrowed) from someone on this board. Priceless. Just my 2 bucks Beautiful wagon, btw.
  15. O'Reilly auto parts does the tests for free, only they won't reset (turn off) the light. Just my 2 bucks
  16. My Outback has done that a couple of times over the past couple of years. Same "diagnosis" from scan tool. After a few days, (maybe less) it just went out. Haven't had that happen in almost a year. Just my 2 bucks
  17. Yep, if there's a 4wd shifter you're golden to simply tow it with the fronts raised as far as you wish. My 2 bucks. (Whaddup Mike)
  18. That's a non-locking door. Way cheaper and easier to just replace the whole door, with a used one.
