  1. That red Chevy appears in a lot of your group Subaru pix, of which there are only Becky's and the Panda Wagon. Has David defected? Thanks for the daily pix, keep 'em coming!
  2. Glad to hear no big troubles so far. You lucked out..Tuesday wasn't so hot around here as the last week has been. Sorry I can't join ya this year, got too much going on. The daily updates and pix are great, keep 'em coming! Say hi to your bro and sis, and safe travels!
  3. Yeah, what Ed said +1. WCSS wouldn't be the same without ya there. Can't remember if they do repairs, but there's a place I got parts from called S-Wing's Stuff. Subaru specialists. I can get their phone number if you like. IIRC they may still have a website, but this ski resort computer is so old I may crash it if I try anything else today.
  4. :slobber: Nice rig Tim. Will we get a chance to meet her at the next WCSS?
  5. Ya gotta realize, these EA-series Subarus aren't new Acuras. Theyre inherently noisy, and have a certain amount of coarseness to them, compared to just about any car built today (with the exception of some of the low end GM stuff). I'd list that noise in the "normal" category. Just my 2 bucks
  6. Since the vibration occurs at a specific speed, I suspect a rear wheel/tire imbalance. Rotate your tires, and see if the vibration goes away or changes to the steering wheel..if that's it, there ya go. just my 2 bucks.
  7. I've driven lots of different cars during my time with the car rental company, and I've got to say that none of the recent Subaru seats are all that great. There are some that are better, some worse. Currently, the Nissan Sentra takes the prize for worst. My all time favorite was in the 1997~2008 Ford Taurus. Very comfortable, could sit in them all day on the way to Vegas, and still feel like I've just gone a few blocks. Make sure theyre the electrically adjustable model, the non-power ones were difficult to tweak just right. Just my 2 bucks
  8. Welcome home, Pete. We've got to figure out the wagon's running issue, eh?
  9. Sure.. I got 32 when I took a brand new 2011 Impreza (company car) to WCSS last year.
  10. Cool pix you guys, keep 'em coming! I'd like to just this opportunity to thank all those involved in making this shindig happen. WCSS Staff, volunteers, vendors, sponsors. Having the coffee shop vendor there for all 3 days was just plain excellent. I spoke to the owner and she said she'd gladly be there for the next WCSS if held there again. Always a pleasure to meet up with and hang with everybody after a year has gone by, especially in this setting. Did I have to travel over 600 miles to get there, you bet! Will I do it again even if farther away, of course! Monica, WCSS Staff, please PM me. (forgot your board name)
  11. Hi Jon, Before you take drastic action and start involving those crooks down at Michael Hohl, bring it in to see the guys at Norm's Auto Repair. They're in South Lake, over on Ruth ave. You probably see their adverts in the "Tahoe Mountain News" every month. I won't take my Subaru anywhere else, these guys are tops! Welcome to the family...
  12. I've got a couple of Gen 1 Legacy Cargo covers. I'm in a blue '96 Leg Outback..can't miss my Nevada license plates ...
  13. Yep, I've got to say Rick (GD) does great work. That '96 he sold me has been wonderful, he documented everything he did to that car before passing it on to me. Can't say enough good things about his work. As for the '83, GD actually restored it to better than "before the deer" condition, as there was some prior minor damage and hood discoloration. Good job, Rick! Will, I look forward to meeting you and reuiniting with my old wagon at WCSS.
  14. Dang Brian, nice ride. Puts my new (to me) Outback to shame.
  15. Boy Kurt, this goes back a long way for me. I tried that stuff many years ago, like 1974 or thereabouts. The "stuff" came in what was like a crayon, similar in consistency to those touch up putty sticks used for wood in the home/boat. IIRC it never worked or covered very well, and didn't stay on very long. Even at it's best, it looked kinda hokey. If you want a sample, I may even have the rest of that stick laying around in a box of small car stuff I found awhile back that I can send to you. It just wasn't worth it. Just my 2 bucks
  16. Yeah..what those guys above said. (And in over 300,000 miles, I've tried many!) Just my 2 bucks
  17. Looks really cool, I'd like to participate. I guess we'll meet up at the WCSS site and leave from there? Plenty of time to work out that stuff.
  18. Yep, I concur with the tool linked a couple of posts above. Used it on my '83 (300K + miles), still works great today. A few aluminum shavings in the cylinder may remain after using my 5-HP ShopVac, but no issues..I declared it a success. Just my 2 bucks
  19. I just made a donation by way of my "User CP". Click User CP. On the dropdown, click on "Paid Subscriptions"(near the bottom)..many choices and donation levels will appear.
  20. It may be beneficial to "expand your horizon" a little. PnP has a couple of huge yards in Stockton, about an hour's drive from San Jose. And there's always Subes in the Reno and Carson City yards (farther away still). Sometimes I've found what I needed at some of the other Norcal yards, but it took a bit of travelling with some luck thrown in. Just my 2 bucks
