Hey everyone, 1989 ea82 4x4 flywheel. Approx 1 month ago was assembled (the 6 pressure plate bolts) with high temp (600 degree) loctite. **problem** ...now I have to take it apart, as the clutch DISK inside is the wrong one (DONT ask) I dont wanna heat it with my MAPP torch, for fear of messing with the spring steel of the pressure plate...... BUT.... the 6 bolts in question are only torque-spec'd to 12 ft/lbs, so I know they are soft.... and I dont wanna snap them off flush = FUBAR Without heat, what will release first, the loctite.... or will the bolts snap? Does anyone have any experience with breaking this stuff loose? Thanks very much!

Jess and I will be bringing a portable gas stove like last year, with some pots and pans, plasticware and paper plates. (the camping kit) I *do* have coffee filters in there, but they are the flat bottom ones. If the coffee maker takes the "cone" type, I dont have those. -

Hey everybody, Im sure this has been covered SOMEWHERE before, but can anyone enlighten me as to what tells the factory fuel pump on a 1984 Brat to pump fuel *all* the time? I turn the key *on* and the pump cycles for a second (primes) ... then shuts off. (This is for the EJ swapped Brat BTW) Im just using the factory pump to fill the surge tank under the hood, but its not going into RUN mode for some reason. (the ECU controlled fuel pump works fine... should I just run a parallell relay off that control wire?) Thanks very much!

Very nice. I was wondering if it was gonna stay in the USMB family. That brat is one of the nicest that I know of... and is the same color as mine. { :EDIT: well, the same color as the BACK half of mine } congrats! -

Also beware if youve not much practice at welding sheet metal. Steel that thin can pull out of line... badly. I always build a little overlap into what Im doing. -

Nobody mentioned a good medical kit/snakebite kit and first aid manual yet. ESPECIALLY if youre out there for a long time, it may save someone's life. Funny how fast the "focus" changes when somebodys hurt. -

Ah, yes. Where IS my head? Incidentally, HTKYSA has 2 options listed for pulling a motor. One is "using a hoist" ... the other is "using a neighbor" Wasnt sure about doing this with the weight of an ER27 though I could bring a LONG 4X and we could get 2 people on each side. -

I could probably *make* a hoist out of some angle iron and a bottle jack... but it would take a good portion of the morning. :-\ Better to just rent a hoist. Now about all this Finnish stripping.... ??? -
