  1. So the white thing is a Geo Tracker?? :-\ We call them Suzuki Vitaras in Wales and Suzuki Escudos in New Zealand. Weird.... But yea - lets hear it for big hearty metal fenders KELTIK
  2. Cheers mate, the bid is up to $150 with 24 hours to go. I'm going mad. What are the chances of this thing having a digi dash? or were they exclusive to the top trim models? KELTIK
  3. Well ive done some extensive reading and im still puzzled. Im bidding on a "1986 Subaru Leone", its listed as having a 1600 engine with FWD manual transmission. Im just wondering if this is right as i was expecting it to have an EA81 at least. What was this car known as in the US so i can relate to other posts better? Current bid is $105 NZD ($65 US) and theres just over 24 hours left in the auction. And yes this car is on the road and only needs minor repair work (new rear shocks). Its gonna be a TENSE 24 hours. I WANT this car. KELTIK
  4. Oooh! Being a touring wagon, does it come with any other goodies? KELTIK
  5. One day left on the auction for the Leone and im leading!! WOOOO...... KELTIK
  6. Hmm, just stick some Honda badges on them and it'll all be ok. Nothing will beat your dream project, getting exactly what you want is the best. KELTIK
  7. I like that. Sorry about the car man, but on the bright side youre still alive! Could be worse. KELTIK
  8. Non-Turbo. Yes i know its evil, but if someone wants to donate a new EA82T for it i'll put that in instead. KELTIK
  9. Ok, Well John has gone and done it now. Im sitting here with 1 Honda (the prelude blew up yesterday) and he's just gone and bought another Brat! So after a couple hours of searching through the "TradeMe" listings i found a couple of choice subarus within my price range. A 1986 Leone Wagon - needs some minor rust work and a new Rear shock for $110 ($80USD i think). Its still registered and i should be able to get it back on the road. A 1986 Vortex almostidentical to John's (my old one) which just needs a new engine. Not sure if its Registered yet but if it is i should be able to get this one back on the road too! And finally theres this Leone for $30 which really needs some body work.....literally. Question is; Will an EA81 fit into a vortex with little modification? And how much longer do you think Keltik will last with only 1 car - before going insane? :-\ KELTIK
  10. Hehehe "Subaru - An American Company".......im new to this but which bit of Subaru is American? Other than that its a nice wagon KELTIK
  11. Finished a perfect Oil change on my car taking every precaution not to let a single drop of oil hit our immaculate driveway. Made sure everything was good and engine full of clean fresh oil, lowered car off axle stands to the sound of my waste oil bucket being crushed under the car. The driveway had a lovely protective coating of 10W-40 KELTIK
  12. Ok someone said prove it - this looks like a job for the prelude!! KELTIK
  13. I Realise nobody cares but the Prelude has clocked up 300,000kms and its completely shot. My old mans Volvo has made it to 120,000miles and the engine is knockin on heavens door. Just goes to show the old Soobs will love you long time. KELTIK
  14. Well thats annoying, he should go buy a toyota - theres plenty of them around to wreck. KELTIK
  15. Nope never seen those wheels before - im pretty sure the car is owned by someone on this site. Obviously they've changed the hubs. KELTIK
  16. Right i dont know who owns it but dammit i want my vortex lookin like that one day! So if the owner can hear m y call id love to know what mods he/she stuck on it. KELTIK
  17. Waay back when i popped the aluminium section of the intake pipe off it had a small coating of oil inside - i just assumed a blocked air filter or something was causing it to suck the stuff up from a crank case breather .....bah well we know the turbo isnt new or recondtioned because it still has the wreckers part number painted on the side of it. The previous owner did stress that there was "some little black box thing that looked like a relay but had oil in it" that needed replacing, of course this didnt help us much. (lol now that i think about it he couldve been talking about the engine ) Thats my 2 cents. KELTIK
  18. Sign me up for a copy lads! Hmm i WILL get another Subaru - that vid brought tears to my eyes knowing the XT is gone. KELTIK
  19. Timing belt is a good point - but its been running perfect up till now - and is running good again....somehow. Havnt checked the MAF yet but im sure John will give it a look and bad destributor seems to be a very likely problem. The CTS is plugged in and must work adequately as the choke system clicks on and off fine. It does throw the occasional ECL code but nothing consistent. Also we've noticed the engines been running very rich since we've owned it, whats the main culprits for that on an EA82-T? KELTIK
  20. btw we know weve got a nakkered coolant temp sensor and thats the only code the ECU throws at us. KELTIK
  21. Hey John ive got a comp tester - ill bring it over next weekend if ya need it. But to summarise all of this (because i want to); The engine runs considerably smoother and with more power when the number3 cylinder HT lead is NOT connected. I've been thinking its a timing fault but that doesnt explain how the problem goes away for 5 mins after running on 3 and then re-connecting that cylinder. As another confusing clue - when were running on 3, the XT's exhaust is a lovely shade of clear. As soon as we connect the #3 Lead, we get more black/brown smog than you can shake a stick at coming outta the exhaust. :-\ KELTIK
  22. Well......Performance Zone couldnt get a listing for an XT and had never heard of an EA82 wagon or RX so i was stuffed there. Repco wants $90 for each rear shock and another $40 for the fan belt so i tried the wreckers yard. They pretty much denied the existence of subaru before 1990. Well the inspection is tomorrow and luckily if i do fail i get a free re-test so its not the end of the world. I dont know if anybodys actually subscribed to this thread, hanging on the edge of their seats waiting to hear the outcome. But in case someone is i will keep you posted. KELTIK
  23. We had exactly the same problems on our 86' XT Turbo. It ended up being a combination of waaaaaay too much oil in the sump and a nakkered temperature sensor. Check that oil! id love to know whats going wrong with yours... KELTIK
  24. Well the previous owner found no use for the turbo heat shield and took that off - the screen washers mightve seemed unimportant too. I know i can get the car through its inspection by rigging up something temporary but those rear shocks have got to be sorted. KELTIK
