  1. don't get me wrong, i completely agree with your assessment that theres nothing really to be gained from this membership requirement. a prime example being my local events requiring a membership to CARS or other type of organization. i believe that locally this is to help with getting cheaper insurance for the club, is this so for you?
  2. ed, in all honisty while i don't tend to agree with the extra fees i would like to point out that here in my region we've been paying the extra fees for a long time now. yes it does suck but on the other hand it does create a recognizable standard for rules and operations. on the other hand, its constantly the "extra" fees that people keep using as the excuse that prevents them from attending events in other regions (more specifically mine). while i sympathize with your desire to avoid instituting these extra fees...i'm sorry but yours is pretty much the only group that i've participated with that doesn't have these fees.
  3. i hope they sort out the passport thing by then...otherwise i'm not gunna bother
  4. oh and zap, don't worry i will actually have some decent tires for next year
  5. well, the carb is worn and giving me a vacuum leak. so i'm considering getting the metering plate for the secondary milled out a bit. overall the package is working for me.
  6. ok, its nothing special 87 ea82 carb, 5mt w/ d/r 4wd. running 11.5deg btc. all charts measure atw power car was extremely consistent, final suggestions were to rebuild and re-jet the carb...damn hitachi more power could have been achieved but the car was running lean 16.1-1 on primary 14.1-1 wot
  7. actually ea82's do have a coolant passage through the intake manifold, i think its got something to do with deicing but i'm sure someone else will know
  8. the csf number for the 85 will be #815 but please note that some people have listed interference issues between the thicker radiator and the fan clutch. best of luck to ya
  9. other then the obvious lack of new head bolts...you didn't deck the block. even if it was never overheated the block will still warp over time. i'm guessing you didn't have the heads checked for micro-fractures either... but thats just my .02 bottom line, bad things always happen when your in a hurry
  10. may be two two day events next year. we need help up here. the green civic wont stop winning. it took a cumulative win by more then a minute each day... and thats overall
  11. i'm not seeing to much in the way of pictures
  12. other then the lack of gusseting i kind like your approach, however, i myself would have mounted it in front of the bumper instead of on it (mostly because my lights are on top of the bumper)
  13. ed...from the nanaimo ferry its about 1.5-2.5h drive depending on your speed (it takes me a grand total of 3-3.5h from victoria). expect to spend about 30min of that driving up the mountain itself (its kinda steep) the over all drive is easy and considerably flatter then the sections of i-5 that i've been on as for hotels, courntey would actually be better then staying at the resort itself and that purely due to the cost of the hotel. last year i stayed at one of the chalets (125 cnd per night) and while it was a nice room there was nothing really to justify the cost. unfortunately i cant speak to the value of the local towns (ie courntey or comox) but surely there is better dollar value. however both have very nice beaches and this time of year the weather is mild and good for walks. yes it is a two day event which due to our own issues will also serve some kind awards "ceremony" on the sunday
  14. and in defense of those that would....the subie show a couple of months ago cost me $45 cnd (due to exchange rate at the time) to run what turned out to be almost a total of 3 minutes.
  15. the average run up here is about 3 minutes but i get your point....i guess some of us are willing to go further then others.
  16. lets see if i'm getting this right, you have no rear brakes?
  17. The entry form is up at RallyBC.com a direct link to events page is http://rallybc.com/irc/irc_events.htm or if you would rather contact jay directly you can email him at jayandsandi@shaw.ca and to some degree it would almost be the preferred method
  18. lol and you actually have a lift in yours
  19. okay so jay went up to mnt washington last weekend and took a couple of pictures of the lot we will be using but... WE NEED CONFIRMED ENTRIES
  20. that price is becoming common here in vic bc, although its usually for newer ones ie 91+
