  1. The engine had around 130 on it when I pulled it from a parts car. It has one cracked exhaust port and I was going to replace that head with a known good one for you. It was running well when it was in the car, but now it is sitting on the floor of my garage. If I were you, I would reseal anything that might potentially leak so that you don't have to deal with it after it is in the car.

Let me know what you think.

  2. Sure you can send me a check. I have been selling alot of stuff lately so what are we talking about again? My address is

  3. I'm assuming you meant 3/8 breaker bar and you really need to use a 36" long 1/2 breaker. That will give you the leverage to break it loose.
  4. you can get one from www.subarupartsforyou.com I'm not sure of the price though. I personally wouldn't use a used one unless you know it is good. Too much trouble to replace and then find out it is bad too. A known good used one I would use.
  5. You have the typical SHOC head gasket leak. It is external and the coolant got low and you got hot. Once you fill her back up you are fine. You just need to watch the level of coolant. By the way, these motors DO NOT have a bleeder screw on the radiator. It has a different design than the earlier models and doesn't need one.
  6. If the issue doesn't go away with the fuse, then you have a failed duty C solenoid and it needs to be replaced. Not a bad job and one that you should be able to do in a few hours.
  7. You aren't that far away from me and I will let you have the tank for 100.00 and we can install it right here and you can drive it back home. A new tank is around 400.00 and you still have to get the tank off of yours and reinstall the new one. Even if odd bits break. I have them on my donor car and we can replace anything that is rusted out. I can have mine out so that we don't waste time when yu get here and even if you had to stay over it is a great deal cheaper than what you are looking at right now.
  8. I have bee away from the computer all day so this is late in coming. I checked and there are no wires anywhere near the accelerator pedal and there is no kick down switch either. Gary, so I can swap an ECU from a manual and that might fix the problem? Which is the identifier pin and how do I locate it? Thanks guys Mike
  9. I recently did a 5 spd D/r swap on my daughter's car. Now when you are at speed and you push the gas to the floor the fuse for "engine meter" bows and the car dies. It only happens if you push the gas to the floor as in a situation where you need to accelerate quickly. It is almost as if the car is looking to put the car into passing gear and that is blowing the fuse, but I don't know how to fix it. Does anyone have a suggestion? I am looking at the possibility of rewiring the car for an ECU for a 5 spd, but that is a real pain and if I can avoid it. Thanks Mike
  10. Take up the carpet in behind the back seat. You will find two access panels so you can look at the sending units and the hose connections. You don't need to drop the tank to get a look at that stuff. If you are confused give me a call 804-393-0516 Mike
  11. I realize that you aren't that close to me, but I have a tank and I may even be able to help you install it. I have access to a lift on weekends. It isn't a difficult job, but now real easy either.
  12. When you look in the little trunk, look at the sides and you will see two rubber grommetts and underneath them are the bolts you need o work on. If you can'tfind them let me know and I will take a picture of mine.
  13. The easiest way to remove a windshield without breaking it is to use 90lb fishing wire. It will cut through the urethane and not break as easily as other wires and it doesn't ruin the windshield. I have removed several using this method. Make sure you clean the windshield real well and you can buy the primer and urethane and replace it yourself. DO NOT use butyl tape. Use the urethane that comes prepped for a caulking gun and it won't ruin a cheap gun. My gun sost me 8 bucks and I am still using it. It will take you two tubes fo urethane. Don't be stingy as the urethane also holds in the trim. Don't be afraid to do this job.
  14. Open the little smugglers trunk and you will see two access holes on each side. Thise are for the rear bumper bolts. Loosen the four bolts, realign the bumper and tighten them back up and you will be done. I had a similar situation and didn't realize that was the problem until I was ready to replace the bumper. Saved me some money.
  15. Well, I am going to keep the parts in my shed so if you find the time and money in the future, I will still have them for you. I understand how this must feel, but maybe now isn't the time and you are supposed to wait a bit. By the way, I think I found a clutch disc and ressure plate to go with everything else.

    Peace

  16. If you want a good head to replace your bad one, I have a couple on my work bench. They are complete with lifters and cams. Let me know if you want to explore that option.
  17. I have no reason to sell the tranny and other bits. I will put them all together and figure out what shipping will be. I do not have the clutch, but I have everything else. I will put it all on a pallette and weigh it. What is your zip code so that I can get a shipping quote. If you are getting the trany elsewhere, just let me know and I will get a shipping quote for the rest of the stuff. Make me an offer on the stuff and we can get the ball rolling.

  18. Gary: Thanks so much. I believe I know where it is now. I will work on it tomorrow. Mike
  19. I am having trouble with a 90 loyale fuel pump and I want to check the relay, but I don't know where it is located. Any help?
  20. If you want to, come on up to Richmond this weekend and we can do it together. I have all the tools necessary and a nice enclosed area to work in. I am pretty sure that I have a good flex plate laying around too, so you can save on that bit. Mike
