The subaru part numbers for you r seals are: o ring 80697 5010 right seal 80673 0031 left seal 80673 0032 I would go to subaru direct and get the seals. They should have them in stock. If not, let me know and I can order them for you and then priority mail them to you. Mike

I get the feeling that you are referring to the transmission stub axle seals and not the actual axle seals which are in the knuckle. That may be the reason that you are having such a hard time finding them. I just looked up the parts and the difference is going to be weather your trans is automatic or manual. The seals are two different sizes, so I need to know which you have. Looks like I can get the seals and the orings for around 20.00 delivered to me. I need to know by tomorrow if you want me to get them for you. If you want to come to Richmond this weekend, we can do the repair together and you will know that they are right. The sensors need to be replaced as does the SRS ecu. The motion sensor is in that module and it is a one time only thing. Good Luck.

Where are you in VA? I can do it for you and make it well worth the money to keep the car. That is, if the car has been maintained and isn't a rust bucket, ready to fall apart, etc. I am in Richmond. I hope he comes back to look at his posting.

It is telling you that the two wire sensor is bad. That one will effect the running of the car as the computer sets the fuel mixture based on the engine temp. Replace them both and be done with it. If you want a set of used ones, let me know.

The ignition is different from te legacy to the impreza and forester. You want to stick with the legacy stuf and the years you list are correct.

Getting them at a JY with a key is the way to go. Having them fixed is very expensive. around 50-75 per lock. I got my forester with mismatched doors and ignition. I found a forester at the Jy and got the parts for around 20 and replaced them myself. The doors are a bit of a pain, but with a little patience, it will be done and you will know that you did it yourself and saved alot of money. The door in a legacy are much easier than the forester. I have done those too. Look and you will see access holes to help with installation. The retaining clip is the only hard part and if you know someone with small hands it should be a breeze. Forester struts are a little taller than OB struts

I have had many of those trannies apart and I have Never had to replace the seal. If I were you, I would just put her back together and let her rip. You are creating more trouble than it is worth. Just my 2 cents

Do not remove the seat. You will not gain any access as the access port is behind the seats and only give access to the pump and guage assemblies. Go from underneath and you will have to use a screw driver to break the seal formed between the pipe and the rubber hose. It is accessable and you can do it. It is a little bit of work, but give it a shot and you will be pleased with yourself for the repair at the end. Pm me and I will give you my phone number s you can call if you get stuck. Mike

You may want to check the cable for the heater to the blendoor. I just looked at a friend's system and she said that it just slowly got to the point that it wouldn't cool. The freon was perfect so we looked under the dash and saw that the cable casing was moving with the heat selector. It was not closing and causing the system to push hot air with the A/C. Perhaps yours is doing something similar or the cable is not allowing the door to copletely close. Check it out.

It really doesn't save but about half an hour, so I would do it all at once.

You can easily fix this yourself. No need to get a mechanic and add costs to the job. The ignition assembly is all mechanical with the electrical component on the far end. Once you have the bolts out, the assembly will fall off in two parts. You can then unscrew the electrical component and replace the mechanical part. It should take you under two hours and you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you did it all by yourself. The part at the JY will be under 30.00 and then you will just have your labor involved. You can even call me and I can talk you through it. Just jump on it and fix it yourself. I will try to get to the JY tomorrow and=pull the assembly for you. Okay?

If you can't turn the cylinder, you will need to replace the entire ignition module. It isn't that difficult. You will need to use a dremel tool to slot the bolts and then unscrew them. Take a replacement ignition and bolt it back on and you are good to go. If you want me too I can look at a local JY fo you. I think there is an outback here and I can get you the ignition. You will use your electrical part and the mechanical part I can get for you. Let me know if you wnat me to do that.

I think that the flapper valve is really there to prevent someone from siphoning off your gas tank. A product of the gas shortage when gas tanks were being emptied at a regular rate.

The fuel filler goes into the top of the tank. You may lose some fuel, but only until it is below the top of the tank. So, if you have the tank over filled, it may lose a little bit. I wouldn't worry about the amount you will lose though. Just get another neck and put it on.

Trust me, you are wasting your money on the computer. You need a new duty C solenoid. It just hasn't gone bad enought to throw a code. Replace it and the problem should be gone.
