  2. from my experince with my 83 gl10, it used to grind into second often specially cold and down shifting. 4x4in wasnt to great if u had to rock your self out. so anyways i looked around on here and decided to get some AMZOIL synth and man it worked wonders. i could tell instantly but wasnt best until about a month or two later where i had no problems anymore. it cost me i think $30 or $40. well worth the investment. oh and i can shift down to first if needed as well.
  3. u could powder coat it but i dont recomend it with out an exaust. i powder coated for a couple years at northwest industrial coatings. it has very bad fumes since all powder coating is plastic.

  5. u got a brat? sweet u will have to bring it buy. my green wagon just took a crap. it spun a bearing pretty bad its looks like the wheel is at a 45:clap: im not sure what im doing to do with it yet.
  6. my mom bought are 86 suburban brand new and had it till 2002. oh and my 83 gl-10 was $12k brand new "yep it rocks".
  7. well i thought since im having a problem with my oil i might ask y after i bought a new oil pump the light still comes on after it warms up. now its actully eating oil "alot of it!". i have ran the engine hard including threw alota ponds. so im not suprised its dying, just wondering what else i can do?
  8. i just wanted to let u know my rx does the same thing but i can keep going with the throttle. i checked compression and 1 piston didnt have any psi. so its just a sugestion to check. it didnt throw any codes either.

  10. i have an 85 mpfi gl10 and a 88 rx turbo. 1 of the valves are stuck on the rx so no compression. now my mpfi heads are good im wanting to change the drivers side out with the mpfi. 2 reasons im wanting to do this. i want to do it in a day also money. i dont want to have to pay to fix one if i have a good one. what do u think? oh and the heads are always off on the mpfi.
  11. i probably would have shoped more. u could have got that stuff cheaper. i paid $60 for my oil pump and $40 for wheal bearings plus 10 for seals. $145 for new brakes sounds like a lew swchawb deal add another $150+ for install. either way your gonna have a brand new car. looks good.
  12. hi i have the same problem with my truck. wierd thing is i install alarms often. i know it is draining it but really with out tracking down the small link. its easier to add an alarm battery which is a 12v battery but can be tucked anywhere. it will still go dead, but it will start. oh and the batterys are pretty cheap about $30. the cold is realy draining the amps out of my optima this year, so i disconnected it. "i didnt install this alarm. it came with the truck.
  13. im gonna defend every one here and saying every one is in this forum at 1 point or another to find out how to get more of out there subarus. so hell ya were gonna blow and break stuff. just get another.

  15. easy for u to say not to do soemthing after the fact but when your cars not running good u need to do some cleaning most likely. it does clean the engine and right on the bottle it says u can add. many many people add this to their oil on this board including me. it has improved my car 100%.
  16. thanks dave. i never really wanted to take the chance of buying those things fear of not working properly. since u tested something ill let u know that i tested putting Mac osx 10 on my intel since its x86 based . its not perfect but none the less it does work.
  17. did i just see the perrin sti with the tribecca engine?! that thing rocks its been my desktop for months and i just love the way it looks. i wish i could have been there to check it out.
  18. for sure. next year i will be bringing my rx so i might not go on the 4x4 unless my gf drives it.
  19. ive done lots of custom fiberglass on cars for stereo systems. if u get some ideas on like hood brackets. i have some ideas. another is i think being so light to eliminate trying to figure out a front latch, i would try to have open from the windshield including the cowl.which has always been a better source for air induction. anyways thats an idea with out going outside and looking.
  20. im pretty sure atf finished my ea82 off. when we took it apart there was a part of the oil pump gasket gone. we were thinking the gasket was messed up by it then was sucked in so then there was no oil running properly thru the engine. anyways id just put seafoam in it. it will get rid of water and clean.
  21. isnt there a hole on top of the crank for u to put something so it wont move. we had a special pick that went in. anyways just trying to help.

  23. hey chaz ya my car has gone down hill since wcss. i figured it was the tob. its gonna need a new engine anyways. i have friend with a 83 2wd hes gonna sell me for $150 and its a 5spd so i can use the clutch in that. im dying to go in the mud, its 2 blocks away and i cant make it out of the drive way! hehe oh well i have all winter. thanks for the help guys.
