Body parts for Loyale Wagon ?
Uberoo replied to gregvdd's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
the lower part of my front fenders is eaten away to the point where I can see the space frame underneath. My rear fenders are/were very rusty and jagged.after a wheeling trip to find out the rear fenders would try to eat my tires on the end of travel out came BFH which fixed that.As long as nothing structural is rotten then you are ok.I myself have to patch some holes in various places-ie near the front suspension and lower "framerails":dead: -
My car was originally a carbie motor.Im 99.8% done with the EJ swap. The only things left are install FI fuel pump and assorted FI lines. The fuel pump is out of an 89 MPFI car.physically it bolts right in.the connector though is different. Both connectors in question have two wires going in to each other. are the wire positions the same in each connector?ie carbie connector [ + - ] mpfi connector [ + - ]? also is it required to connect the signal wire from the ej harness to the fuel pump? The pump as it is wired with the EA harness starts pumping when I turn the key.

yes where?

which right?Right from when you stand in front of the engine with engine in car or right with you in the driver's seat?

I know that you can fit 30's with a 4" lift problem is that anything above 27" and your offroad hill climbing ability goes down, unless you do something to the motor.Myself I am gonna run 31X10.50 with 4.5" lift and I have an ej22 to provide movement.

Roughly how much FI grade hose do I need of the various diameters for ej swap?I looked the the hoses and most of it is metal. IE how much X" hose do I need,How much Y hose do I need to change the return and supply lines.

SJR stuff is pretty good. However you will need to buy bolts and extend your steering shaft in the engine bay. Also you will most likely need to extend your brake lines. From what I had heard of the installs it could take about a day or so if you install it in your driveway.

so there is about a 3-4" lift-spring over lift...

well I did forget to wire the ECU ground and memory wire in:dead: I feel stupid.I guess I just wanted to see if my wiring was correct...

I wired in my EJ harness to various connectors on the EA dash-tach,charge light,CEL,,ignition positive off ignition switch. my question is I have no indicator lights at startup no CEL,no charge,no oil,no nothing in the instrument brezel. When I tried to see if the motor would crank when the battery was just hooked to the charger.Anyway when I tried to see if it would crank I heard this clicking from behind the dash. Also when I tried it I didn't have the ECU memory wire hooked up or the wires from the alternator to the battery.Could that be a cause of the problem?I'll try connecting the memory wire to something tommarow.that and my open fuel line pumped some fuel on the engine(carbie pump still attached:dead: ) need to wire in FI fuel pump and FI lines.

I am trying to connect the EJ22 wiring harness to the idiot lights in the EA82 body.My problem is the original car was carbie so it had no computer. So everything to make the engine run except the EA starter relay is EJ stuff.

The large vaccum thingie in #5.What is that?I am planning running a snorkel through there and it is in the way.
-
I unbolted the steering colum but it doesnt seem to drop very far at all (2-3 inches)
-
I just need enough room behind the dash to get in there and identify the charge light and CEL wires. That way I can solder the ej harness in there. How hard is it to get the screws holding the instrument cluster in?Removing that would definatly help in connecting EJ harness to select EA wires...

Im game brian.I got some nice steep hills offroad to drive up.You are welcome to join me once I get my car running.

I am trying to remove the dash on my 87 GL so I can access the wires for charge and CEL lights.I can't seem to do it.I removed the steering wheel, still no joy.I need to access those wires so I can solder in the charge and CEL wires off my ej harness.Right now I am thinking just leave them alone and deal with things differently.Ie if car runs badly find a code reader. If I am every worried about charging system I have the factory voltmeter,Although I could take the wire from that and go to a VDO voltmeter... are charge and CEL lights really needed?Or how best to acces those wires

I want a skull shifter in metal but after hearing you talk about metal shifters... Damn I want a brushed aluminum sphere.

supercharger carb blow-through setup on ea81?
Uberoo replied to scrap487's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
never mind the carb, where can I find the blower? -
All of the carbs i have run have has issues with inclines,or side hills for that matter. Not fun to try to turn around on a hill and your engine dies leaving you in a rather precarious position.
