low down torque is nice but 2.64" stroke and 3.62 bore is an odd combo for torque...hey does anyone make stroker kits for subarus?

i thought the motor really didnt rev past 6k?saab B202 have alot more stroke.Almost 1/2" more and they could easily rev to 7k assuming you replaced the lifters and the computer.8k if you put in solid lifters and all that.so whats holding subies back? they have solid lifters(some)

why is it that the EA81 and EA82 motors only rev to about 6000 rpm?They have a very short stroke and are horizontaly opposed so they should balance really well.so why the low redline?

Im almost done just have to button a few things up.after I looked in there with a flashlight it was easy.the left side is all done.The right I need to torque everything up then attach various bits for the alternator.then put the exhaust on and add fluids...I came in at 9:30 I have been watching south park.

its probally a simple question but how do I know where the pushrod is supposed to be when Im putting heads back on after having them machined because the hg blew?Do I just put the pushrods in the large oil passages and hope for the best or is there a specific location the end needs to be?I didnt pull the engine so I can't look inside the block to find the cam.please help.

ok I got felpro no retorque gaskets so then smear a little oil on the threads and torque to 47 ft lbs.what is the three stage tightening?

no I was asking if his experiance with swampers was with iroks.personally I hate IROK's awell.the swampers just look great.

swampers have some of the hardest sidewalls Ive ever seen.BFG you have to guard the sidewalls.granted they are mud tires that work in a lot of situations.they dont work on rocks?why do so many people in rockcrawling competions have them?Maybe your experiance is with the old bias construction TSL's or boggers.

um if I unbolt the the exhaust off right before the glass pack looking thing how loud will it be?1984 brat.

I have an 84 brat with manual tranny so solid lifters(right?) what is the torque specs for the 17mm head bolts?also what is the tightening sequence?I would rather not have to replace headgaskets anytime soon. in other news tomarrow(err today being that its 1 am) I get the heads and assorted valve gear back from being hot tanked and the heads will be resurfaced. also do I have to retorque the bolts?if so do I run engine,shut off,drain oil,pull covers,retorque,etc,etc?

some people can be anti-suv.some people are anti-anti-SUV.to the people claiming to be anti suv,most subarus are marketed as suvs.if they wernt why would they be compared to ford escapes?some vehicles get better milliage than others but that gives you no right to start bashing the vehicles?Granted I dont like SUV's,minivans,etc because my low slung car can't see around/over them.All this talk about anti-SUV is pointless.you might as well attemp to hold back the ocean.you may succeed but sooner or latter it will overcome.Yes gas prices are on the rise but americans havent cut back on driving.the only thing I think when I see a SUV or minivan is let them pay more at the pump. I have two cars:a sports car that seats 5 and gets 20 mpg in town from a four banger,and I have a lightwieght pickup/suv with a small carbed motor that gets 22 mpg in town if im lucky... RANT OVER -
what happens if you drilled your rims then countersunk them at 82*? instead of 60* will it still seat or....?

ok so then one Quart diesel,one quart atf and the rest oil....might have to try that once I get the motor back together.that being said after I pulled ahead I was amazed at the disgusting mess in there. -

First I need to get a job,but I already have some drawings of what Id like to end up with.Not to mention a parts list. My defination of subaru- looks like subaru,has subi motor/trans, and IFS/IRS.its still a subi even with long travel twin a arms... *holy OWWW! just finding parts online,to do this project I would need $440 just for all eight CV joints and boots.then four axles...yaaa! the suspension lift will cost more than the entire car...unless anyone near pull and save in spokane?Could you check to see if theres a couple of porsche 930's sitting there?

junkyard.I picked up 4 chevy 6 lugs 15X7 for $100.they are nice chrome ones.I think they have speedholes or something,but there not spokes...
