weld extension into trailing arm, just make sure that the steel will bend long before the weld breaks.

or you could get extra lights (offroad lights) and run 130W in those..I need to find an alternator from a chebby maybe when I go to pull and save after getting a job.. -

considering that the motor was overheated.how likey is it that the heads cracked, warped,or otherwise unuseable? The motor didnt die after overheating.I bought my brat,it ran fine.I took it wheeling and I thought I heard a soft pop then it ran horrible. The motor was driven about 30 miles after pop. I guess most of my worries would be answered after I pulled the heads... -

ok,er,Which hole is #1 nevermind I found it.was covered with grease. -
I just got a check from the idaho tax commmision.I think I will fix my brat.and drive that...What is the best way to get it TDC before pulling the motor?

most lifts for subarus are sadly body lifts.they do not improve off road performance. they allow you to fit bigger tires.Unless you have a brat or some other rare subaru just cut/pound the fenders until a bigger tire fits.
-
just toying with ideas here.pull and save doesnt specifify for different engines so I soppsed I could go with a TD.What year 'dubs have them?
-
I didnt say subaru diesel.
-
two part question: What cars in the us had diesel motors? Second,How hard would it be to stuff a 70+ HP diesel in the brat? I have this idea of a brat running on vegie oil.And because its a diesel it will make pretty good torque.Very usefull for turning bigish tires.

it looks massive compared to the stocker.
-
what kinda lift? are you going to extend the struts 4 inches but leave your diff at the same place? if so,count on not even making it out of your driveway.if however you extend all items 4 inches-extend strut and drop diff 4 inches then you will have stock geometry and you could go forever.

at 16 bucks for a turbo... A long time ago I called them about a turbo for saab.they said turbos are the fastest thing to leave their lots.
-
if those shot up hulks are near the begining of trail try to pull them out. That way if a enviro nazie drives by and sees you cleaning up trails, they may be less likey to want to close land down. maybe organize a trailride/cleanup.anything you can do that shows 4xers in a good light helps us four wheelers.

So 3.5 quarts oil+.5 Quart of ATF+REV for 5 minutes, then flush. right? now I just need to borrow a cherrypicker.
-
seafoam?
-
Is there going to be an lingering effects of the foam in the coolant or will that clear out after I flush it a couple of times?I have a crate of 10-30 that was made when a dodge dakota came out(shows a pic of a 1st gen dakota...)I got it for free.

I think I will wait to do the swap when I have money. Just getting all the engine bits I need for the swap will run me about 184 assuming pull and save has them. Then I need to get a 1/2" steel plate or 12MM plate whichever is easier/cheaper to get.that will be like 100.so 284.I can get an 82 ea81 station wagon with a perfect D/R for that. The motor runs nice too.Course the body and interior....
