  1. I might have found a 1980 hatch with the 1600 locally,if I was to drop the ea 71 motor in would it be just to get the brat moving or would it have any power?
  2. holy hell what could you possibly use those wheels for other than driving on the railroad?

    CB radio?

If a 102" whip towers 7 ft above my brat how tall does that make the brat? I mounted the whip on a braket just below the rear window.subi purists will flame me but I drilled right through the metal on the back of the cab and ran a 5/16" bolt though it,then a nut holds everything together on the back.then that plastic cover in the back of the cab covers the bolts...Im thinking of runing a coax cable from the bracket through one of the sides of a t top then connecting it to the uniden CB.

    CB radio?

Im thinking self taping screws with a little cradle.Until I figure out how to boost the signal it will swing 7 watts through a 102" whip.little unidens swing 7 watts:grin: How hard would it be to get it to swing 20?

    CB radio?

after going in circles trying to use the search feature...How hard would it be to mount a small CB on the roof, right infront of the T tops on my brat? Are there any hot wires near the roof to tap into? I know I shouldnt worry about CB's and other stuff when my brat doesnt even run but....gives me something to do.
  6. I dunno if its so hard to find the old motors, anyone have a wrecked legacy or impressa in there lawn?It would be fun to do an EJXX swap...
  7. both are carb motors and the EA81 has a weber 32/36!. the hell with the computer.... will the intake off the EA81 along with weber redline adapter fit the EA82?
  8. this may have been discussed already, sorry if it has. What are the differences of Ea81 engines and EA82 engines?I have an 84 brat with a blown EA81 and I might be able to pick up a EA82 motor.both are non turbo carbs. Will they just bolt in or is there some work involved?I really want my brat to run so I can resume offroading it.
  9. how hard was it to get the holes perfect? ive been told that if the bolts arnt drilled perfectly you will shear off lugs.or does that only happen with hub centric cars?
  10. move the radiator to the where the spare tire sits and position it somewhere near there.then you can basicaly delete the material till you get to the lights.weld a brace into the front before you start cutting, aparently its under tension.
  11. how do you set up an RC car to drift?do they have negative camber up front and locked rearends?I dunno if I could find 500 bucks I would make a volvo wagon RC driftmobile, hell I could probally make an actual old school volvo drift car for 500,it wouldnt have nice wheels or paint but...
  12. on your write up, you can buy punches that are X diameter with a point in the center.perfect centers everytime, especially when useing a drum as a guide.
